There are some days where the entry is free, free breakfast, coffee, juice. Go very early as it gets very busy midday. They also do events around the city malls, which is amazing, not only you get pancakes, sausage, beans, eggs, you get donut, ice cream. You get goody bags from sponsors, free petting zoo and poney rides for kids. Concert. It gets very hot, if you have children make sure they have their hat and sunscreen. The downside is the wait time to get in, move around, food, drink and game is overpriced, long line up. It is an amazing event, just plan well.
yeah I might just stay home lol. Supposed to be very hot leading to Wednesday the 10th (2024) also. But I appreciate the thoughtful advice. Was also told about how some days the entry is free with breakfast, etc. That might be the only thing I'll consider. But how "early" is early ?
Awesome vid! Really helpful. Me and my brother will be first timers in 2023 -- do you have a top 5 bars outside of the grounds that will have a lively atmosphere but still reasonably easy to get into?
Thanks so much! I'm glad you found it helpful. You guys will have an absolute blast! Some bars I can recommend that are close-ish to the grounds are Ship & Anchor, National on 17thl, Home & Away, Leopold's on 1st Street and St James Corner. They're all within a 20 min walk or so west of the grounds and are usually lively but not absolutely packed. 17th Ave has tons of options if both the Ship & National are packed when you're here though! It's also known as "The Red Mile".
Nicely done but 😮 get ready for long waiting times for rides and worsening food prices. As Calgarian we attend And find it so expensive ( 500 ml water bottle @ $5. Therefore we book vacation during that week to avoid citywide crowd. YAHOO!!!
Thank you! The tickets for 2024 won't come out until spring that year when everything is announced. Sometimes they aren't available until early summer. Your best bet is to sign up for the newsletter on the Calgary stampede website to get the most current info when the time comes 👍
@@austinalfonso9290 you only get free admission to the grounds. Concerts at the coke stage are free & included with admission, I think the ones in the Big Four building are free too. Rodeo tickets are always extra. Hope that helps!
The GA is the general ticket, it's probably sold out for the day you're looking at. Those usually sell out first. The grandstand is the building you watch the rodeo from!
I just checked online and apparently you can only get standing room tickets (general admission) from the ticket booth on the day of the rodeo and they sell quick. www.visitcalgary.com/things-to-do/stories-from-calgary/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-calgary-stampede
If you head to the Calgary Stampede website, you can buy tickets right on there! I believe the rodeo tickets include the grandstand evening show or you can buy the evening show tickets separately.

Totally! It's a great time for locals to get out of town haha, we usually do a mix of going to Stampede and leaving town!
Good video! When do the online tickets for the rodeo go on sale for 2024?

It’s changed sow much since 1979
Do we have to buy the Stampede Park Admission additionally to the rodeo/ eveningshow tickets?
Hey there! Your rodeo ticket will include admission to Stampede on the day it's valid for ☺️
can someone explain to me what superpass provides? is it like if you buy it, you get free admission and concerts, and rodeo tickets?
@@austinalfonso9290 you only get free admission to the grounds. Concerts at the coke stage are free & included with admission, I think the ones in the Big Four building are free too. Rodeo tickets are always extra. Hope that helps!
Does the supper pass give you access to the rides or do you have to pay extra for the all day ride pass
The super pass is just for gate entry so you'd have to get the ride all day pass or ride tokens separately!
Where to get the general rodeo tickets? I only see +$55
Also whats the grandstand?

How to get Rodeo grandstand tickets
If you head to the Calgary Stampede website, you can buy tickets right on there! I believe the rodeo tickets include the grandstand evening show or you can buy the evening show tickets separately.
No thanks. I went once in the 80's and wasn't impressed. I like crowds a lot less now.
