Hartwood Nursing College and nearby House

The Nurse’s Quarters are on the lands of the also abandoned mental asylum in Lanarkshire. The Nurses Home was designed by Glasgow Architect James Lochhead in 1926. It was designed to blend in with the 1890’s Baronial style Hartwood Mental Hospital, located on the same site, and was originally built as Nurses Accommodation for the Hartwood Nursing staff. It was finally opened in 1931.
To this day, the building continues to ruin and decay, and not much is left within the structure.
