Thank you so very much for this footage.!. I just made a comment that this is when musicians played their instruments. There was no background tracks or actually I think it's called clap tracks which they use now. Everyone would be amazed when they go to a concert these days to know a lot is pre-recorded and they're playing along with it they're playing along with it. A lot of times musicians just look like they're doing a part where they're playing along. Sometimes they're not even playing at all. For people who are spending a hundred dollars plus on a ticket to know that they're pretty much playing along to karaoke. If they're really playing at all. Thank you so much and take care
The Max Machine ! I always looked forward to seeing clips of my fav Canadian bands on New Music . The simulcast on CITY TV were great too because footage of some of these great bands were rare back then . Love this clip . thanks CAMCURSE
I was a 14 year old kid when I first saw the Max Machine, right when High Class came out, set up chairs for a promoter...Max Webster, Goddo, and a mentalist named Mike Mandel, right before they started touring with Rush. Instant fan, followed by MANY more shows. Became a musician after that, still play. The good ol days!
Some songs are designed to be great live tunes and others just become that way. Drive and Desire rocks even harder live than it did on Universal Juveniles. What a fantastic version, even with 30 year old footage. I would love to see a concert film of these guys from that era.
I saw this tour at the Peterborough Memorial center with Wireless opening up. Amazing show!!! I was 14 and hooked on music forever. The next time I saw them Watkinson was back and they had Steve McMurray from Wireless in the band, then they were gone.... Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for this gem!, By the time I was old enough to get to places where I mighta seen Max Webster, Kim had gone solo, which is also excellant music, but Max was a class in themselves!, Would have killed to see Max and Rush together!
Tbh even the biggest Canadian acts like Rush are underrated on a global scale. They should be as big as Zeppelin. Max Webster should be at least as big as Billy Squier... Canadian artists may struggle to get the recognition of those from the USA and UK, but I'm sure it's easier to get known coming from there vs Southeast Asia or West Africa :/
Hi, hope you're doing well. What's really cool about check and music at this time is that they didn't use any backing tracks or as we call them now clip tracks. It's them live playing the instruments and something that not many bands do these days at all. You'd actually be really surprised. Thanks and take care
yeah max was rush's back up band for the moving pictures and permanent waves tours....i saw both tours at joe louis arena in detroit....max was the first band ever to play joe louis arena...and i was there....buddy you saw history, seeing those 2 tours....especially when geddy came on stage and did battlescar, with the websters.....
she stays away from the virus virus, but she lets me in when the lights are low, she comes across to see me see me, she doesn't stay inside when we want to go. she wants to come across like diamonds diamonds, earning a living on this screen while getting paid to shine. She even comes across when it's a cold morning in the drums. Take it to the Max! I used to be The Lone Stranger in Toronto...yeah...

that IS Dave Stone on keys, real nice guy, I did a couple of gigs with him, he was with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow for a bit too...
A legendary guitarist with out the recognition, which only means he's a Canadian like Randy Bachman who also doesn't get the recognition!!!!!!!!!!
We Canadians know them .
Tbh even the biggest Canadian acts like Rush are underrated on a global scale. They should be as big as Zeppelin. Max Webster should be at least as big as Billy Squier...

Seen Max back in the early 89’s warming up for Rush. Poor Max got a forehead that looks
Like a movie screen. But I say it with love.

We;re all here to get reckless man!!!
The best vintage Max footage I've seen. This is awesome. Who is that on the keys?
Dave Stone. He was in Rainbow as well.
I love Max Webster, but this song sounds more like Spinal Tap's "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight" than any other song I've ever heard.
"The New Music". Was this a Canadian show?
