Today why this report published?-If the Federal Reserve decides to cut interest rates by 0.25 or 0.50 percentage points at the end of their July 30-31, 2024 meeting, the new rates would be announced immediately after the meeting, typically through a statement released in the afternoon on July 31.
To provide a concrete example, if the current federal funds target rate is 5.00% and they decide to cut it by 0.25 percentage points, the new target rate would be 4.75%. If the cut is 0.50 percentage points, the new target rate would be 4.50%.
