It was not until May, when a celebrity died from covid after struggling horribly for 2 months that our lame government decided to start vaccinating people. Everyone's understandind of the situation is relative to their own subjective experience. It is unfair to make comparisons bewtween the past and the present without taking into account all the different variables (which is practically impossible). It's like electricity going out and you saying "You think that's bad!?! Ackchually humans lived without electricity for thousands of yeears!". Of course that's a ridiculous statement because humans in the past were not nearly as dependent on electricity as we are now, and even though it may not have been important to them, to us no electricity for just a month could mean the dissolution of the world as we know it. So please don't make ignorant comparisons between the present and the past as if things were indeed that simple.
The 536 AD event has been largely attributed to the Illipongo volcano in El Salvador which is now a lake. The weather was already turning cold, and then starvation and the Plague of Justinian. One of the worst for sure.
2020 was not bad at all!! It was like an alarm clock going off but then we hit the snooze button with minimal interruptions of our lives. In some aspects it is to bad it wasn't a bit worse so we would wake up and and actually clean up with a new beginning rather than fall back asleep and think every thing will work it self out.
Those are good examples. However, you forgot about 72,000 years ago when a volcano erupted and cause all of humanity to die except for maybe 2,000 people around the world. I am talking about a near extinction rate of over 99%. Even today, its impact is felt in our genealogy.

@@Adrian-kb4rg Obviously your missing my point but I'll go ahead break it down for you. Politicians that hate Trump mistakenly believed that shutting down the economy will stop the virus from spreading. Clearly that didn't work. So they were convinced along with the mainstream media that this was the perfect opportunity to exploit the pandemic and brainwash their voters into thinking that Trump was some kind of boogy man and he was responsible for the China virus along with all of the problems that came with it. Ultimately the voters fell for it and now Biden is in charge. However things are now in chaos mode under his administration. Numerous of recent polls show that Biden's approval rating is worse than Trump's first year in office due to rising inflation, out of control government spending causing the value of the U.S. dollar to fall dramatically as it affects other countries as well. Food & supply shortages, failure to restore American jobs and a failing economy. Shutting down the Keystone Pipeline causing rising gas prices and becoming dependent on other countries for other natural resources as well. The mishandling exit out of Afghanistan, out of control southern border, sky rocketing nationwide crime waves, unconstitutional vaccine mandates (which are currently being protested across the country) and these are just to name a few things that are just getting started. Unfortunately this list will continue to grow if he proceeds with even more bad policies. Along with his incoherent behavior and the refusal to answer press conferences he will continue to divide this country instead uniting it as he promised he would. Now this country is almost unrecognizable. It's no surprise how Biden supposedly became the most popular U.S. president to the worst in less than a year. Unimaginable that he's even worse than Carter! That's gotta be a record for sure. Of course now a lot of Biden voters are having voters remorse but hey, at least there's no more of Trump's mean tweets right?
Back then science and information wasn't so developed. Vaccines took a while, and fundamental information wouldn't spread fast. Hilariously, we're centuries apart, but some people choose not to trust science and overspread misinformation. Brazil and the U.S.A had the same kind of mindset, both were more affected by pandemic than any other country.
When we all thought it was the wnd of the world but this guy made us realize that humans thought it was the end of the world several times throughout history
I’ve noticed something: there’s a possibility that whenever a pandemic hit, it started or spread to an overpopulated area, and so, theoretically, a pandemic is almost like the earth’s way of cleaning itself. This is only just a theory, but it’s still possible. Also: please don’t argue with each other in the reply section, you can express your opinions all you want there, however, you can argue with my statement but not with each other’s.
Overpopulated areas aren't always well looked after, thus this can be breeding grounds for bad bacteria. And diseases spread quickly in such areas as well, because it's dense, people are closer within eachother's range, so viruses can easily spread. But there is a theory that pandemics start to control the world's population. Because too many people.
it is definitely a known hypothesis. This is also a theory for other land animals like rabbits. Every couple of years, a large percentage of rabbits receive new diseases that will wipe most of them out. This is a way for nature to regulate the quantity of rabbits kept alive. In order for a few rabbits to survive, most(with bad genetics) will get killed in order to preserve the best genetics for further reproduction. Plus less rabbits means less competition to find food for the remaining rabitts that survived. So, in this case, rabbits inherit better genetics for survival and have better chances of not going extinct. This is all due to nature sending in infectious waves that strikes most of them and kills the weakest(immune system). It is like a collaboration between pathogens and rabbits. Cause these pathogens won't be able to survive Earth without a rabbit host, and the rabbit won't be able to find enough food, water, shelter, and good immune system without the pathogen wiping most of their overpopulated communities.
It's true that 2020 might not have been the worst period in history, but also this view on the pandemic is so greatly privileged. Most of us did not have the luxury to stay home and rest with no interruptions. Some of us were poor in 3rd world countries. We were forced to work in uncertainty, we lost our jobs, our family members and our homes, our family members were infected, left to die and then their corpses left to rot inside our own homes, we went through poverty, homelessness and famine, some of us to this day live not knowing whether or not we will have the luxury of a meal tomorrow.

the worst time in history is yet to be decided till the our story, humanity, has ended. the threats of war loom near as the pandemic slows down. economic crises spread through out different nations. hatred and greed piles up as aggression and bullying of smaller nations occur. ideologies clash unendingly and genocides, slavery, oppression, discrimination go unnoticed. well, humanity did a good job getting to where we are now, solutions and methods are all within our grasp. hope to a brighter future
Though reminding ourselves of the horrific times in the past might console us to get through this pandemic, you can't deny that the definition of 'catastrophic' is different for everyone. The inequalities are huge. The rosy picture you showed is probably in developed nations. People have lost jobs, lives, dignity, even democracies. Each time period has its own set of limitations and challenges, ours is different.
Because of our amazing way of communicating, we have a perfect way of living, people support each other loads and loads of new communities growing and amazing inventions new friends and hobbies.
Thats because if we're forced to do something, yeah we're not gonna like it. Its like when schools force you to read a book when you don't want to. Like, some people may not like books and maybe want to draw or something. A lot of people are too narcissistic and stupid to realize that if you force something on someone, it takes away the joy from them. A lot of adults won't let kids experience things on their own and think "Oh well it's for their own good, they'll learn to like it". Then they wonder why we hate older generations lmao.

It’s not nothing to the people that lost family members
But I do agree there’s no comparison here
@@Adrian-kb4rg Obviously your missing my point but I'll go ahead break it down for you.

@@Nicolas-tz2xc 👍
I would argue that it is a hypothesis, and not a theory, since a theory means that something is a scientific fact.
@@e.t.9868 👍 Probably just got them confused
it is definitely a known hypothesis.

Isnt it weird that if we all have the choice to learn history we love it, but back in school if we were forced we hated it and refused to enjoy it?
Exactly
Thats because if we're forced to do something, yeah we're not gonna like it. Its like when schools force you to read a book when you don't want to. Like, some people may not like books and maybe want to draw or something. A lot of people are too narcissistic and stupid to realize that if you force something on someone, it takes away the joy from them. A lot of adults won't let kids experience things on their own and think "Oh well it's for their own good, they'll learn to like it". Then they wonder why we hate older generations lmao.
