All that matters is can you do the job to the standard required, and are you the best person out of those that can. If you don’t fall in that bracket, you don’t belong.

      That’s just in the military. Multiply many times over for every department going, not to mention the NHS where as a minimum, it’s every hospital. Even HS2 etc, they demand every contractor complies with DEI requirements - it’s in every contract. Plus all the other money, hell, some African nations have started trying to reject aid because it’s being used to promote the ideology as a condition if receiving it, or it’s being spent promoting ideological nonsense there too. The money being wasted is truly astronomical.

    They’ve done the same in the Police. I’m recently retired & the force I worked for had a whole department going to universities attempting to recruit based on ticking boxes & the standard of some of the new recruits is dreadful not to mention the drop out rate because they were never told throughout the recruitment process that they’d have to work nights or weekends! DEI will destroy everything that was good about the UK.

    my son is 15, has been in atc for a few years, the plan was always to be a starting point to be a pilot in RAF. that has now changed and his focus is now to be an airline pilot. at 15 he has experienced DEI interference in the cadets. its put him off the RAF. such a shame. my concern now, is the horror stories i am hearing now on commercial aviation recruitment in the states being driven by DEI. current captains are highlighting that the quality of first officers is shocking and cannot be babysat for their entire career, at some point these captains will be retiring in the next 10 yesrs and the potential risk to the flying public is going to be a serious issue.

    • @abdulmismail
      @abdulmismail 24 дня назад +3

      The same thing happened to me in the Air Cadets back in the late 1980s and you can clear see I'm not a white guy. I joined late - when I was 16.5 and stayed for 1.5 years before going off to study aerospace engineering. Our cadets went down to 8 people being on parade for several weeks so I asked my CO for permission to recruit and I managed to bring in 30 kids from local schools. The younger lads who had been their longer than me scared those kids off and only about 2 or 3 stayed. My CO left and the new CO started promoting all the kids above me, three times - until there was a kid who was only 14. I later heard those kids dads would go out for beers with the CO and the following week, they'd get promoted. I experienced discrimination as a kid but I didn't think the ATC would work that way. I thought it was based on merit. It totally put me off - and I wanted to join the Fleet Air Arm as a Harrier pilot. Oh, and one of my friends from the ATC - a white lad - did join the RAF when I went off to Kingston Polytechnic. I saw him 6 months later and he bought himself out and told me "it was just like cadets". That was in the early 1990s.
      You're correct. Airlines are introducing DEI (which is dumb) so my advice is for your son to go for the RAF as a transport pilot. When I was in Ecuador 2 years ago, I was always having breakfast with United Airlines pilots. They were all ex-USAF transport pilots. So, your son can get all his flight training paid for him and log thousands of hours.

      @reighbh13 I was a civvy instructor in the Sea Cadets after the RN. I lasted around 3 years before resigning through DEI. It's the kids I pity. Most are great and you'd do anything for them, but those in charge are more concerned about how they appear to the political correct mov, rather than what's good for the kids.

    This is the same in the whole of the public sector. The good people leave because of the DEI stuff. The DEI people generally leave because they don’t want to do the jobs. This is not about racism or bigotry. It’s about service, quality and looking after our people, whoever they are.

    This year the military have a 1 Billion pound cut plus whatever Labour cuts bring plus we are giving away yet more kit (OK I believe Ukraine deserves help most offers being just lip service) but when you hear that £20,000 fire and forget anti tank missiles stock is so depleted that the 1960’s 84mm Carl Gustav is being dusted off because it’s only £120 a shot - you know it’s a bad sign of things to come.
    Liebore just as bad as the rest unelected cabinet members, water rates up, NHS and Disabled benefits to be more reliant on the Private sector……. Starmer Blair’s puppet

    We are short on personnel across the armed forces yet nothing is being done and by 2030 over 3,000 vehicles in the army are to be retired! New Jackals being delivered this year are to be retired in the next 5/6 years Warriors,Foxhounds, Coyotes, Mastiffs, Challenger 2 tanks, AS90s and land rover just to name a few! Yet the MoD has 65,000 Civil Servants! Nearly the same size as the British Army! Pure Madness.

    I saw the decline in the 80's and 90's, it mirrored how society had become soft, many kids are spoiled mummy's boys, driven everywhere and everything done for them. As a result you end up with too many namby-pamby's, who cannot cope with a little bit of discipline and without their home comforts.
    The services are better off without them, they are a hinderance, as their inability to cope means someone else has to pick up what they can't or won't do.
    Sadly it costs a lot of money to train these wimps and likely took the place of a better person was unable to get in because of quotas.
    Unfortunately it is not just the military it is also in the emergency services, and the private sector. I was amazed at how many jobs some young people have had in such a short space of time. This is largely the result of parents and schools not teaching kids discipline and respect.

    Men evolved - over a very long time period - to function in hunting and scouting parties and war bands. These were essentially the same as modern military units. Women evolved to raise children and perform a different range of tasks with completely different group structures and dynamics.
    When we insert women into male groups, it throws the natural pecking order and functioning of the group completely out of sync. Cohesion, efficiency and morale diminish. That's not the end of the world if you're running a call center or a factory, it easily could be if you're trapped behind enemy lines or clearing a burning building.

    Being now in my 70's of lifelong learning, experience, observation, creativity, understanding, re-examination 24/7 365.
    Q: How many global ethnicities were employed in military service from ww1 onwards?
    A: All colonial representatives have been employed and are now fully part and parcel of the Western military collectives across all services, and it is now inevitable that in all services diversity is standard and that has been obvious for the last forty years at least.
    Not that the diversity recruitment strategy or multi ethnic national service will stop a nuclear war.
    Love always

    Newbie here, long post. Sorry.
    I saw this channel about a week ago in my YT feed after not logging in for a while.
    I liked the directness. I liked the leadership lessons (I was a charity food warehouse, chilled van by-hand loader/trainer/supervisor).
    But they went woke. And I was replaced by Gov paid for Apprentices, who could not lift a bag of spuds between them.
    But I am over that now.
    But what I really like on this Channel; is the Mad Dad sticky up hair!
    And the 'I don't give a flipping crikey,' Grizzly Adams week long beard. Ha ha!
    Seriously, it's great common sense British Stuff.
    I watch another You Tuber who makes videos in his car.
    A Pagan Irishman. Thomas Sheridan.
    I don't have a car myself. I am 59 and I often say:
    It is both a privilege and a burden to be alive and awake and aware in these dark times.

    We have the same issue here in the US. Patriotism is mocked openly and love of country is somehow viewed as childish or even idiotic. Retention is a real issue, and DEI policies are destroying this once great country. I am a disabled Vietnam veteran and abhor what I see going on. Our abandonment of Afghanistan is a cruel scandal, and I weep for the thousands of US troops killed and wounded there for no reason. It pains me to see GBs military in the same boat. I wish I had the answer. God bless the fighting men and women who are true to the cause of freedom and liberty.

    If applicants have passed the required aptitude and medical standards, then it's purely a case of positive discrimination. It has nothing to do with quality control or operational effectiveness.
    It's pretty important they aren't conflated.

    • @FastJetPerformance
      @FastJetPerformance  23 дня назад +1

      It wasn't positive discrimination, which is actually just discrimination, - it's well documented, Sky News did a lot of work on it and the RAF apologised and compensated the 160 pilots affected.

      @jdo1014 23 дня назад +2

      @@FastJetPerformancewell that's 'good' that some kind of justice was served. This interview talks about operational effectiveness; was that ultimately affected in negative way i.e. were standards lowered? My point was that they are two separate problems.
