I respect the fact that no EU representative talks about independent army’s or foreign policy and acknowledge they are significantly better off with the US. For the world this is great. The colonial powers of the past collectively could be less harmful for the world. It could end badly but at least we know what happens if they have independent foreign policy.

(Very few get in illegally, and very few who have been deported have managed to stay. The problem group is those hundreds who are denied residence but can't be deported because their native country denies entry. But this isn't even the group you refer to.)
