Put your phone in Airplane mode, then the app doesn't have to wait to see that it doesn't have a connection. It will let you into it right away. Tested that a couple min ago.
14:27 - The single-pole breaker buzzed and tripped as soon as you turned it on. I wonder what that goes to? Something else that's missing parts somewhere? 🤔 Someone stole the entire blower assembly, minus the motor? I'd check the local scrapyard. Sounds like somebody needed a "quick fix," and I'm not talking about HVAC repairs... 😆 Happy New Year everybody! 🎉
Wow, 40 amps from the heat strips plus the blower, plus the condenser ! Our electric rates, 43 cents per kWh, would create a huge heating bill vs. gas in California
Hey Curtis, great job. Just got on to your channel late last year (Ive been in the trade a little over 2 years) and I appreciate how you explain your process, it makes it easy to learn while you work. I know your a busy guy but if you ever have time free up, I'd love to see an 2025 vid of any updates to what you carry in your maintenance bag. As well as a truck tour? Keep up the great work and Happy New Year!!
That’s kinda silly that the app requires connectivity of some kind before it will allow you to use your probes. Might have to try Measure Quick Good job and Happy New Year
Your iPhone can easily set up a 2nd E-sim phone line with a different provider if you are frequently having connection issues with your current provider, I'm guessing you have "V". Might try just an inexpensive prepaid plan to augment your coverage that uses "A" or "T" network. Thanks for doing this, really enjoy it👍👍👍
What happened to the old blower? The motor was there, what gives? Took it off for repair and never came back? Mysteries, I hate them. At least you know those things like the back of your hand. If it was all running, that is a good sign. It has enough pressure to run. Why not use regular gages to check pressures? Nice job
It is a pain that you can't use the app without internet access. That seems to be a shortcoming of the Fieldpiece system. Not all locations have a cellular signal.
You might need to consider a phone carrier tha uses all carriers towers. We use TracFone and there are others that don't have their own tower and use other carriers towers. I've never not had a good signal.
Fieldpiece REQUIRES online access to work? I'd consider that a dealbreaker, ditch it, and make sure every HVAC Pro you know also knows about this problem. Wow.
That's ridiculous if that app won't open without network access. It may have been because the signal was so poor it was taking a long time to time-out. Next time this happens, try turning on airplane mode.
@HVACGUY awesome man, that will save me a hassle in the future. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Curtis and giving me a base level tech so many tips! Hope you have a happy new year brotha, take care
@@patrickinottawa27 No that was the new blower capacitor that came with the blower motor. The fan capacitor is a little bigger and mounted to the left of where Curtis replaced blower capacitor.
That rental property you work on Curtis are super slum dumps I mean they want even pressure wash the darn siding on the trailers and the central system are you saying that landlord rentals are on a wait list unbelievable they need to be cleaned and cleaned some more what dumps you work in!
Using the application without a cell phone signal should be a quick and easy option. There is zero reason why the remote sensors can not use bluetooth to communicate with the cell phone. Maybe they should think about a stand alone monitoring device. That being said, manual gauges are also an option.
Which new refrigerant is Rudd going to switch to? I live in Florida and in need of new system do you believe Rudd is equal with quality issues as Trane and Lennox
I hate following people other than the owner, you never know what they did or maybe sabotaged something. One renter took the sequencer out of a electric furnace and just left all of the wires hanging everywhere, if the wiring diagram hadn’t been there it would have been a bad day
I can see you are not having a great day. Youve run up against an evil tennant and it doesnt make sense why they took the blower. Good people shouldnt waste time trying to justify an evil deed. You dont think like that.
I think you've been scammed - GOOD mobile software knows that connectivity is not guaranteed and lets you use whatever portion of the app can function without the 'net. Just a Crotchety Old Curmudgeon that wrote software and also had to fix software that others did not get right. I have near-zero patience with software developers who do things that interfere with the user getting the job done.

The tenants seemed to have demolished it,Why would you remove the blower, they should be billed for that. What morons. Hey Curtis those condenser clips are varmints.

Like the intro
Thanks

Happy New Year everybody! 🎉
I was wondering the same thing about the breaker.
I use the screws with the taller head. Makes a HUGE difference
Nice work Curtis. Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
It looked like the second breaker tripped when you flipped it. Heard a buzz right before the trip
It did
Must resist attempt to grab pressure washer!
Spotted that cable tie holder you've got on your bag. I'm going to have to get me one of those !

yes thats true, and the efficiency of this units and the building looks like its not the best, here in Germany you could not use this. :-(
Well done Curtis, and a Happy New year for 2025 to you and the family 👍 Au
Thanks and happy new year!
Happy new year curtis thanks for all you do always enjoy your videos
Happy new year!
Happy new year compadre, thank you for the video!!

Missing major parts IKR
Happy New Year man. Thanks for a great year of sharing! You are appreciated.
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Curtis turn your phone to airplane mode and the app will let you operate it without service…
That was a time to break out the old trusty mechanical gauges, Cuttis. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Last guy that took my blower got two kids in the deal
👎🏻
Funny plus a dishwasher to boot
And a sandwich maker
I use measure quick. It uses Bluetooth probes from any manufacturer.
Good video, Happy New Year 😀
Happy new year!
What was on the line the breaker tripped on?
Happy New Year.
Happy new year!

Nice fix! Happy New Year Curtis (and Rielly)!
Happy new year!
you needed to turn the upper braces around. the one that holds the wiring up
Time to pull out the gauges and thermocouplers.

Hey that clamp is it made to hold the tie strap
Yes
@HVACGUY where did you get it
Good work Curtis season greetings to you
C-Mon Curtis we’re is the gauge set at
some time he’s just lazy justifying it with bs
I feel like I need to take a shower after watching this.
Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Curtis just flipped a tripped breaker and didn't say anything lol. Oops
You should carry a hair dryer to dry out them controls before starting up system
Happy New Year 👍👍
Happy new year
Nice work man 😊😊
Happy New Year Curtis 👍👍🇨🇦
Happy new year!
Why on earth did someone steal the blower assy?
Hey Curtis, happy new year bro
Happy New Year!
Fieldpiece REQUIRES online access to work? I'd consider that a dealbreaker, ditch it, and make sure every HVAC Pro you know also knows about this problem. Wow.
@@OnusBones It doesn't, but it does try to connect and check for updates. Waiting on the timeout can be annoying.

I wonder if your phone was in airplane mode if the app would work?
Well there's your problem lady . . . Yikes!
Couldn’t you have gone old school on checking the pressures?
Yes
Hey Curtis, have them to clean the green goop off of there unit
Hey Curtis, love watching your stuff, quick question, were you able to order that blower housing with the motor already mounted?
Yes, that’s the only way I found get it.
@HVACGUY awesome man, that will save me a hassle in the future. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Curtis and giving me a base level tech so many tips! Hope you have a happy new year brotha, take care
Gizmo don't work if there's no Internet.
Curt,
A body hammer and a block would straighten that metal up perfectly.
I see you finally broke down and bought you a jar of screws.
Likely bought with this job in mind. Man, he used a bunch of em. How about the ex-tenants? They put a heck of a lot of work into doing nothing.
Love your videos, you need a magnetic Ash tray for your screws.
you needed to install a new fan run capacitor
Why? It started just fine.
Curtis did 11:49
@@patrickinottawa27 No that was the new blower capacitor that came with the blower motor. The fan capacitor is a little bigger and mounted to the left of where Curtis replaced blower capacitor.
you need STAR LINK.....
Trying to save a buck, sometimes can cost you more in the long run.
What kind of idiots would steal the blower??.....geesh.....
They probably didn't know how to put it back in
plus I did you read the motor and call out the farads for the blower motor what was it?
Almost all new blower motors come with a matching capacitor so it's not necessary to read the motor.
On tool bag
