- The mini Picker is just a slight twist on the Pocket Picker Perdigon. This pattern has been on fire for me this spring. Lately a lot of social media posts I have been seeing have been using oversized beads for the hooks they are on so I decided to see what all the craze was about. I have to say it worked for me.
The Pocket Picker is a killer pattern this time of year and even better when the sulphurs start popping. I like the Pocket Picker but I wanted to tie it a little quicker to use to guide with since I tend to go through a lot of them with clients. By switching to a pink tail I dropped the pink or orange tag on the back and cut out one step in the tying process. When you're tying dozens of them cutting out even one step adds up in my time. Also by tying in stages and doing things like using the foam to add the wing cases saves lots of time.
This pattern and the Gasolina Perdigon have been my go to patterns this spring. If you need any of them or the materials to tie them please go to our website www.holsingers... for all you needs. If you want any of the flies you see in my videos you can email me directly at holsingersflyshop@gmail.com to place a custom order.
Thanks for watching!!!

That’s a Hunter Shawn thanks for sharing, God Bless
No problem !!! thanks for watching
Awesome pattern as for oversizing the bead I have been doing this for years. A lot of my size 18 and 16s are a 3mm just for weight. Once I get to 14-12 that is my 3.5 and the the 4mm are on 12-8 typically. Just depends on where and when I’m fishing them
Looks like a good one. I'm definitely going to try this one out
Thanks for the video Shawn
Fish it right and it catches tons of fish. It's a winner
Great looking fly!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Scott glad you like it
Love these indestructible patterns!
I love that it's a quick tie. I fish them harder and don't care if I lose them as much
Awesome little sulpher pattern
It absolutely slays this time of year
Nice! Tying some up tomorrow..
Hope they work as well for you as they do for me
Can you recommend another color thread? Uni Thread light olive looks close to me. Check it out and see what you think.
Fl. Yellow I’m sure would work too. I think the watery Olive works so well because of the UV qualities of it. It’s so small on the fly I don’t think you would know the difference and you’d get the UV that works so well.
