Thank you for sharing your experience with the Thoth deck! You put to words many of my experiences with it, as well. This video is so timely for me, as I am currently using The Tarot of Vampyres and the Thoth alongside it, and the energy between the two is so potent. I feel like I am weaving my understanding of these two decks together... deepening my connection with both. I love what you said about the Thoth adapting itself to the user. I was intimidated by it for the longest time, but always drawn to it, and I am so glad I followed my pull to this deck, and now have it to work with. It really is so multidimensional, and multifaceted, and meets us where we are. And, I feel I could learn from it for the rest of my life. It is my top favorite deck for this reason. I really appreciate your idea also about using the cards as sigils. 😊

Yes! Another THoth lover! It is a total mirror image DNA tool of the user and will teach you so much about your hidden parts. Like a shaman within a deck of cards!

20:12 What I did recently, inspired very much so by your Marina Abramovic Oracle and by Elle at Sacred Seed’s create your own tarot, is I went through Pinterest and Google, to search for images for each one of the cards. I only digitally collaged one of the cards because I couldn’t find an image I had in mind for it. Of course I followed the Thoth system including the court cards. In a way, it was to help me study the Thoth tarot because I’m still in the learning process. I can’t say how much closer it draws me to the Thoth deck. If ever I decide to put up a RUclips channel I’ll share that deck because for those of us studying the tarot I can’t recommend making a tarot for yourself, or several of them - I have an idea for another one 😂😂😂. It’s also helped to keep me from impulse buying tarot decks that I really don’t need, in this day and age especially on RUclips, consumerism in the tarot community is just awful and this scratches the itch at least temporarily, for me. ❤️💜🖤

That’s great! Making your own deck is a fascinating process as one taps into inner world of archetypes. I hope you keep making them!

Interesting you compare the deck to the properties of mercury when it is named for the Egyptian equivalent of the God Mercury… Thoth. I used to read with only RWS or TdM style decks while this deck sat on my shelf for 6 years. I wasn’t ready for it’s energy and complexity (although I agree it can be simple too). I was bequeathed Crowley’s Book of Thoth in a roundabout way. Which prompted me to finally start working with the deck. There is NO going back.

Hi Natalia. Did you trim/mod this deck yourself? If so, is there a video where you talk a bit more about how you do the trimming, what equipment you use, etc? I have a large format Thoth and I'd love for it to be borderless, but I don't have a paper/card cutter (apart from scissors!), so I'd appreciate any advice you can give on that subject. Thank you.

Hi. I never use scissors as my hand is not as steady. I use paper trimmer to slice off each side of the card and then applied Tim Holtz ink stain I got off the amazon as edging color. Hope this helps.

@@tarotshrink Thanks! I guess I need to invest in a trimmer, as I'm not good with scissors either. :) Really enjoying your videos and podcast.

I’ve had this deck since I was a young girl. It’s a unbelievable deck. I used it purely until my late 20s and since I’ve gotten a few different decks. I really like it edged like this, I may have to get a second copy to play around with.

This was the first deck I had when I started reading tarot back in the mid 1980s and I find myself going back to it frequently. It is not my "one true deck" but it is one I will always use. I find myself less drawn to any of the true Golden Dawn derived decks lately and more towards decks like The Ritual Tarot and the Mystagogus Deck. I know eventually I will go back to the Thoth but for now I am drifting away from it and its descendants.

I do love this deck but I always feel a bit intimidated by it because whenever I read with it, I know there is so much I still dont know or even understand 🤔 It makes me doubt my readings with this deck because I am afraid I am missing something important

Ohhh no! I think what you feel you are missing is only going to solidify what you already perceive if you knew it.
