It's fantastic to see someone else enjoying my old home town. What I will say, as a former driver of the horse drawn tram, it only takes 50 kg of weight to begin the pull of the tram, and as a 60 kg 15 year old when I started there in 1995, I pulled it often to ease the minds of concerned tourists. They are very well looked after horses.

Wow! That’s incredible to learn that. They should put that on the signs. I felt so bad for the poor horses that they must have been straining. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Thanks Elaine!! We shouldn’t complain, we’ve been very lucky with weather the last few years.
Spoiler alert: we get a whole lot more rain in the next video.

HI N&S, Great video full of places I grew up visiting. The Granite Island draft horses are bred to, and thrive on, work and are what farmers used before tractors. They were all my family farm, in what is now a suburb of Adelaide (Brighton), used for ploughing and hauling. So proud of my birth State's history and beauty. Thank you. Continued safe travels. Judy, Nelson Bay, NSW PS. I just returned from 3 months driving to and housesitting in Whitsundays, another delightful area.

We loved Victor Harbour when we visited it early in July. So pretty, and they have everything there we noticed. It's just a super place.
And yep, I think Nigel is a bit nuts too, like another subscriber. It's probably time to get him tested, Sue. After all, who laughs when they hurt themselves over and over. 😂😂 Just kidding.
Thanks again... Love your videos. 😊👍

I really enjoyed seeing the areas you visited. It looked like there would be some good photo opportunities or things to paint. I’m surprised they are only using one horse. It looks like it would be better for two horses. ☹️ Thanks for the video. 🤗💖

Or maybe a tram with a motor?? I mean I guess it’s a part of the heritage, but I really don’t think it’s necessary.
And yes I can imagine painters would love those colours too!

@@nigelandsueadventures yes I agree, no horse would be way better. It’s even worse that it’s a single horse. 😕

I guess it gives the horses a purpose to exist with feed, care, and exercise. If the horses struggle then they should be replaced.
