Somewhere in Grand Rapids someone is writing a sermon on the genius of Calvin. I am 73 and autistic and reading people's reaction is difficult. This handicapped me socially but as I grew older I learned to talk to everyone like I constantly talk to myself. Some actually find me a brilliant conversationalist and despite the contradiction I am a very good listener.
about knowing what others are thinking asked by Brian Eno, yes, certain people seem to be gifted in tuning in to others. Good therapists who listen to their patients over time can predict and even hear what is unsaid based on holding what they have perceived and remember what the pt has shared. They usually can trust their intuition. Like putting oneself in another’s shoes. In other words, we all have intuition but the trick I suppose is to focus on the pt’s communications that take the form of both words and actions, without focusing on their own reactions. Therapists who use benevolent curiosity do not criticize or even allow their judgments to interfere thereby creating a safe space for the pt to express their thoughts. Similarly, great jazz musicians can listen to themselves and to others unencumbered by distractions. Some call it ‘being in the zone.’ As for a man like Trump, it doesn’t take a genius to understand what he is thinking because we might say he is obsessed with himself. He actually needs the adulation he was so deprived of when his brain was developing, IMO. He is literally so hungry for attention that nothing else matters. As for Brexit, it seems as though it was a reaction of some to a previous rejection by the EU that certain politicians seized on.
I believe it's Alzheimer's where you stop experiencing thirst when you need to hydrate yourself as one of the first symptoms reported early on. it would be cool if your wrist strap could make up for that. would save hospital admissions and prevent premature deaths to be honest.
“Our God is a God who saves us, in the Lord God’s hand lies escape from death.” - (Psalm 68: 20) - Where we shall never have to worship and pray in the way of religions, not even in the way of the pope, his priests nor Christianity; because religions are all led by the many blind guides and false prophets that Jesus had already warned us to beware of, almost 2,000 years ago. Here then follows a summary of his true teaching… “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” - (at John 4: 24) - “In truth I tell you, anyone who gives heed to what I say and puts his trust in him who sent me, has hold of eternal life and does not come up for judgement, but has already passed from death to life.” - (at John 5: 24) - “Beware of false prophets, men who come to you dressed up as sheep while underneath they are savage wolves. You will recognize them by the fruits they bear.” - (at Matthew 7: 15-16) - “Do not call any man on earth ‘father’; for you have one Father and he is in heaven. Nor must you be called ‘teacher’; you have one Teacher, the Messiah.” - (Matthew 23: 9-10) - “Take care that no one misleads you: For many will come claiming my name…” - (Jesus, at Matthew 24: 4) - “Many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many; and as lawlessness spreads, men’s love for one another will grow cold. But the man who holds out to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the earth as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.” - (Matthew 24: 11-14) - “I am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father except by me. If you knew me you would know my Father too.” - (John 14: 6-7) - “When you pray, go into a room by yourself, and shut the door. Pray to your Father who is there in the secret place; and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you. In your prayers do not go babbling on like the heathen, who imagine that the more they say the more likely they are to be heard. Do not imitate them. Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him. This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven, Give us today our daily bread, Forgive us the wrong we have done, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us. And do not bring us to the test, but save us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if you forgive others the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, then the wrongs you have done will not be forgiven by your Father.” - (at Matthew 6: 6-15) - “Pass no judgement, and you will not be judged. For as you judge others, so you will yourselves be judged, and whatever measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to you.” - (Matthew 7: 1-2) - “Truly I tell you; if anyone obeys my teaching, he shall never know what it is to die.” - (John 8: 51) - “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you: that is the Law and the Prophets. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” - (Matthew 7: 12-14) - “I am the gate; anyone who comes into the fold through me shall be safe. He shall go in and out and shall find pasturage. The thief comes only to steal, to kill, to destroy; I have come that men may have life, and may have it in all its fullness.” - (John 10: 9-10) - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” - (Matthew 7: 21) - “I am the resurrection and I am life. If a man has faith in me, even though he dies, he shall come to life; and anyone who is alive and has faith shall never die.” - (John 11: 25-26) - “I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world” - (John 12: 47) - “Whoever will acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven; and whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” - (Matthew 10: 32-34) - “Any plant that is not of my heavenly Father’s planting will be rooted up. Leave them alone; they are blind guides, and if one blind man guides another they will both fall into the ditch.” - (Matthew 15: 13-14) - “The disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ He called a child, set him in front of them, and said, ‘I tell you this: unless you turn round and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Let a man humble himself till he is like this child, and he will be the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me. But if a man is a cause of stumbling to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. Alas for the world that such causes of stumbling arise! Come they must, but woe betide the man through who they come!’” - (Matthew 18: 1-7) - “Though many are called, few are chosen.” - (Matthew 22: 14) - “An expert in the law, [a leading religious Pharisee] tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. Everything in the Law and the Prophets hangs on these two commandments.’” - (Matthew 22: 35-40) - “There is no greater love than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friends.” - (John 15: 13) - “One of the criminals who hung there also mocked and taunted him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself, and us!’ But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Have you no fear of God? You are under the same sentence as he. For us it is plain justice; we are paying the price for our misdeeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’ And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ He answered, “I tell you this: today you shall be with me in Paradise.’” - (Luke 23: 39-43) - “For it is my Father’s will that everyone who looks upon the Son and puts his faith in him shall possess eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day” - (John 6: 40) - “Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. And be assured, I am with you always, to the end of time.” - (Matthew 28: 20) Yours, in true Spirit and in our one given prayer, 2gointruth, on Saturday the 24th of July, 2021: - (Matthew 5:14-16) - Where every minute (of both day and night) can be a new beginning for any one of us. Let it always be you. Pray to God often before it is too late.
I am in the midst of the Book of Jonah. I am an old man who knows a lot of scripture. The Book of Jonah is the only part of relevance after Harari's Homo Deus. Give me a Human Evolutionary Historian over all the clerics and psychologists upon whose shoulders he is standing. What was was, what is is. What will be is our choice to make regardless which side of the Is there Free Will Debate you are on. you are not autistic..we are..
I've never heard someone else explain this, I never know how to say it for people to understand. Nice to 'meet' ya Moe
I was not expecting this combination. The first 5 minutes are already great. Looking forward to the rest of it later.
Reading his books fills a feeling of possibilities of grey matter plasticity beyond imagination

"The Self is what you can control" This has implications for Artificial General Intelligence, doesn't it?
I'm glad he called him out for not dating squid 🐙 🦑
It's crazy how brain plasticity is not known by the general public. I have talked to others about it and they think im crazy lol
Oh brother. The pandemic was devastating to everyone but the very affluent. This tells me how wide the gap.
13:13 If that is the case then why have those who don't dream not lost their vision?
Everyone dreams
@@gdavis9296 True! Some just don't remember their dreams.
Well ain’t this fascinating
