Just so everyone knows, V star universe and crown zenith are not the same. Yes they have many of the same ultra rare cards but crown zenith is a catch up set, basically giving us everything we still don't have from the japanese sets of the sword and shield era. V star universe on the other hand is a reprint set, which reprints some of the best cards from the sword and shield era for new players to easily get there hands on

The designs of 90% of the new pokemon were trash too. I imagine they are going to keep the new pokemon to a minimum in the Scarlet and Violet sets.

I was so excited to get the first ETB in a while and got Crown Zenith, 4th pack and I got the Secret Rare Pikachu. I was shaking and screaming and the best part was i had the homies with me so they were also screaming
I only got into the card game halfway through Sword and Shield but I've really enjoyed it. My favorite set was probably Evolving Skies, as I'm a big Eeveelution fan. Lost Origins was also a cool set. Really excited for the Scarlet and Violet era
I grew up on xy era things, personally I loved the tcg cards I had a huge collection, but when sun and moon came around we had both bad cards and bad games so I lost interest. I think sword and shield is fine, but I am excited for s/v. Please remember these are just opinions, you don't have to agree
I also recently got back into pokemon collecting and the tcg with the sword and shield era. My favorite set has been astral radience because it was my first swd/shld etb i got and it had a major impact on the tcg, bringing more vstars that dominated (palkia) and the regis. Although i have only played the tcg in this era, i find the cards fun to play with and the art to be really cool! although alot of people find this to be one of the worst eras for the tcg due to the absolute dominance of a few cards and i will admit id does get boring seeing the same few cards and decks winning over and over again. I do hope scarlet and violet switch things up and w are already seeing some of this happening with japans tcg scene as they already have the cards.
I love the Eevee heroes boxes that were a part of evolving skys. I got a couple of the Japanese ones. Could never find the full art Umbreon. Really any sets that have any Eevees are my favorite.
