[DIY] Makita 2703 Preparation before use of table saw (Zero clearance insert production)
In this video, I will replace the broken SK11 STS-255ET table saw with the newly purchased Makita 2703 table saw.
The work to be done this time is the following four
1. Cross-cut sled migration work
2. Straight-cut sled migration work
3. Solving the riving knife problem
4. Manufacture of zero clearance inserts
As for the cross-cut sled and the vertical-cut sled, the position and width of the miter track are different, so replace the sole accordingly.
Fortunately, I could use the SK11 riving knife.
After that, I will make a zero clearance insert that I was trying to make with a SK11 table saw.
I watched a lot of other RUclips videos of about it, but the clearance on the left side of the blade was still narrow and it didn't seem to be completely zero clearance.
Originally there is only about 3mm clearance, so it seems impossible to make it from wood. However, the part behind the riving knife is made by trial and error, so please watch the video to the end if you like.
