He inspired me musically. The fact that he keeps the Underground sound alive while having Mainstream popularity pushed out all of the insecurities I had before I discovered his music at 19. Sure I'm 29, but I've been getting fucked over by beat makers who flake on me. That caused my recording connects to think I'm all talk. Now I just do Freestyles on Smule and shit until my Weed Man is ready with some beats.

Since then they've matured in sound a lot. If you want a good stepping stone into the 90s I'd start with A Tribe Called Quest
