Somewhere, I've still got my original share certificates and press cuttings for this railway preservation
venture at a time when interest in keeping "steam" going was growing via various enterprises around
the country. The foresight and commitment of all concerned has made it possible to find a variety
of successful enterprises in existence. They have been the custodians of history!

Awesome, so nice to see "Bodmin", brings back happy memories of mainline tours with the "Green Train".

The number of times I travelled that route - Winchester, Alton, Aldershot, Guildford and on. The hours I spent waiting for connections.

Was a member from 1981 till 1984, use to do a small steam rally net to line at Ropley. My only regret was i only got one trip as trainee fireman, in that time. I also started chipping rust of 35018.

Is there any footage of the track (bed) towards Winchester Junction past the rail head at Alresford before the land was sold to Perins School? Would be really nice to see it 🙂

Just got some fancy AI video enhancement software and would love to have a go at restoring this film. Wondering, do you own the copyright or know who does? Thanks

might be a long shot but does anyone know what the song is at the 3:50 mark?

The credits cite the musician to be Joe Cox when actually I think it is Joe Brown, who is an established musician and a former-steam locomotive fireman at one point (still alive at this point according to his Wikipedia page), and he did openly resign when the diesel engines came in; clearly he wrote and sang the song compilation in this film. Regards, Samuel Farris.

Lovely film! It's amazing how far they've come since. I took my first trip just after the Alton extension opened, and it's my favourite heritage line.
