I like the drive (NPI) behind this company. Alex seems passionate about carrying his father's legacy and making good speakers. Instead of having some cheap speakers made overseas and putting the company name on them, he's chosen the much harder route of making them stateside, doing lots of research, and making them as nice as possible. That's worth your money if you ask me. As for the speakers, they speak for themselves.

Out of my dead hands will someone pry my Auratones. Lost a pair in the late 90's reunited in the 2000's TOGETHER FOREVER

Do you still love them today? I'm just curious. I've only spent a few hours with them at someone else's studio, and I'm thinking of buying a pair (with the matching amp) for my home studio. I'm realizing reference speakers for mastering are not optional. Regardless of quality, having only one pair of 2-way monitors just doesn't cut it.

I bought an old pair at a garage sale nearly 20 years ago and they have been sitting in the shed since. I didn't know how special they were till now.The serial number on them is 725132 does that mean they were made in 1972?

Can someone please let me know how much heat the auratone 5c active monitors generate fully operational? It's really important for me. Thank you all

    • @bveracka

That will likely vary based on how long you use them and how loud you play them. An hour or two might put out X amount of heat, while six-hour sessions will put out more. I'm just curious; if you don't mind me asking, why are you so concerned with heat output?

@@bverackamy studio is tiny and heats up a bit so i am trying to minimize all the heat sources.

@@jackc8120 Oh, of course, that makes perfect sense! I wouldn't know for sure, but I'd GUESS that the passive version with the single amp would produce less heat than two active speakers (with each having their own amp inside of them). Just a guess though. I'm sure Auratone would be able to tell you.
