Use to think this video was strange in middle school but now that I'm in college and have a part time job in retail. I can somewhat relate with this guy. Sometimes I too want to get violent and punch customers in the face or impale them. (Mostly during Black Friday)
Customers think that just because they are spending money in your store, they can treat people like crap. If my employers think I need to put up with abuse, they don't deserve me. Same goes for anyone else.
Forthepaycheck88 Most the time it isn't so bad. Just when the holidays come up people get into this frenzy. People look like they can kill for a TV on Black Friday. Fights and arguments can break out while waiting in the long lines. Some reason there will always be people who would try to cut in the line.
It's a question of ethics. Humans all learn "pleasure calculus" and if a given action brings more pleasure than pain, they will do that action. Cutting in line (they think) will be painless to them, like the person they cut wont have the stones to say shit to them. However, since it's the holidays, the meek people who would have kept it to themselves, are instead willing to lash out, because they're wound like Swiss watches. It's a powder keg, I know XD
Forthepaycheck88 Yep pretty much. Customers must satisfy their materialistic needs. While the employees deal with the aftermath. Ironically I am only working there because I don't want a dead end job like this one. However, in order to not have that happen; I have to be in College. Yet College is a necessity priced as a luxury. So here I am. :)
There is a sort of perpetuated myth that in order to be successful in life, you HAVE to have gone to college. What they don't tell you is, BECAUSE of that myth, there is an education inflation. So many people went to school, that an Associate degree counts for nothing, and a Bachelors is the new Associate.
