Serato, Traktor, sync, pitch controls on decks etc etc are all technology so even djing on a pair of Technics 1210's could be argued as not real djing by the earlier generation of dj's who played on modified hifi turntables!. Fair points made and I started myself on technics but what I am getting at is elitism. This is real music, this is real art, this is real djing etc etc. Technology is evolving and changing the way we all do things and as you said you moved from belt drives to direct drives because they were more responsive and suited to what you wanted to do with your ideas and skills.I don't see the point in putting my view of what is real or not on other djs for example as i'm sure you don't too. The mixing skills are not good in this video because ultimately is about what it sounds like and not the technology used in my opinion
I bought my first pair of 1200's in 1988 and had them for 25 years. Only sold them as I was sick of carrying crates of records around to gigs. On the rare occasion I venture out to play now I always turn off sync - hate it! But then I see my son (who has his own controller) and other dj's rely on Recordbox/Sync and have no idea how to actually mix. Sign of the times.....Annie was awful! I like that comment about PDM and Monki..that's way better (but I'll bet they're using sync as well). At least they know what they're doing. Well played Mr Ronson too. You save her

Bad day at the decks for Annie Mac. For me it's more about song choice and flow of the mix. The mixing and song choice lost energy in the whole thing. Have a look at Monki and PDM, that's how to do it...Monki is really good, she needs to get a promotion!

I started on belt drive Numark decks, then got 1210s, it's the best way to learn to DJ. You need to know pitch control as a DJ - I now use a controller with turntables. I never use sync on my controller, where's the fun and skill in that! It's a shame these 'top' DJs don't know how to do this, they get paid enough!

Can B Traits use pitch??? I don't think so, so very unprofessional and pioneer DJ , Serato DJ etc have lot to answer for by helping these djs just jumping in without learning the art or practise , that's why club Djs today even as far as Defected records DJs, Claptone for example, their mixes sound the same, no groove or natural feel, because they use sync and can't use DJ pitch on cdj 2000 mk2 nexus deck fact you will find!
Good example or a club DJ who knows the art and skill of pitch mixing is DJ EZ, he uses pitch all the time on cdj nexus like it was turntable, all club djs should follow his example if they want their DJ sets to sound more natural to the ear otherwise they sound like computer CD, pioneer DJ need to look at this and remove tempo sync feature on their nexus cdjs in future product updates to address this clear problem otherwise this will happen again because all they know as DJ skill is tempo sync, they need to learn basic mixing and art of pitch it's simple but I'm sorry to sound harsh if I did I'm trying to be constructive with advise

Annie should watch Ellaskins (DJ Tutior) tutorial videos on RUclips - he always uses the pitch to mix and explains how to do it very well, been watching his videos for years!

Once Annie Mac learns the pitch she will become better DJ for it and be more confident in her mixing skills in such situations again should they happen

Bad day at the decks for Annie Mac. For me it's more about song choice and flow of the mix. The mixing and song choice lost energy in the whole thing. Have a look at Monki and PDM, that's how to do it...Monki is really good, she needs to get a promotion!

Not many!!! of course it's easy to any original vinyl turntable dj, they know the art and craft
I started on belt drive Numark decks, then got 1210s, it's the best way to learn to DJ. You need to know pitch control as a DJ - I now use a controller with turntables. I never use sync on my controller, where's the fun and skill in that! It's a shame these 'top' DJs don't know how to do this, they get paid enough!

Martin Herity but what Annie has done here is highlighted now and club land and Ibiza needs to take note there is sync in play by lot of top djs who should know how to mix or pitch control without relying on nexus sync, serato DJ sync etc so lot of producers or sync DJ superstars will look at this with fear now that they must learn bit more in pitch control and basic mixing skills moving forward as this could happen to them live on stage and I'll call out Calvin Harris on that

Also Calvin Harris was DJing a long time ago and I have personally seen him use CDs to DJ many years ago and CD's do not have the sync facility.

seriously, mixing on serato which beat matches it and loads to cd which does the same thing, it is a joke these people cannot put together a decent mix. Dj's are the most overhyped, over paid jokers out there. Ronson has skills and is a sick musician and producer but Annie Mac is a joke.
