Weki Meki has been always bombarded with bigger artists in South Korea whenever they are having a comeback. All of their songs are really great and they're actually pretty big in South Korea, but for you to win in music awards, you need the right timing of release. Chungha is a great example of this, her songs are reaching 30+ million views on RUclips and she is really charting high in domestic charts, but there are really bigger groups after her. As you can see in "Gotta Go", she did not have big competitors, so she won BIG, and her album sales increased once again and she placed on the Top 20 of domestic charts for 2 months! I know that winning in music shows does not define your success, but for groups like Weki Meki, although they are pretty big already, winning on these shows will really help them get known by more people. I'm just sad that Weki Meki has been releasing bops after bops but then they rank low on charts, sometimes not even charting. But one thing is for sure, Weki Meki needs to be up there and be known better.
Yeah you can say that Chung Ha is the most successful right now among the IOI members then i think Weki Meki is the second and Somi will definitely become a big artist also.
John Limuel Agillon tbh I believe that wjsn, and pristin if they actually were active, is more successful than weki meki currently but they are a close third.
Morgan Brown wjsn is more active than Weki Meki actually, Weki Meki are like the second lease active out of all the ioi groups after Pristin, they this comeback after over 7 months! Same goes to every song, there’s like 9 months in between which makes them pretty inactive
For me the correct rank would be: chungha>wjsn>weki meki> please dont forget gugudan and dia still exist. Pristin isn't even promoting properly unlike somi. Sohye is more active also. By the way, I think chungha's gotta go is a real bop. People who sleeps on weki meki usually prefer other concept. They usually come and go when yoojung dance a boy group song but didn't support weki meki as a whole, some people also stan doyeon only. Sad reality but at least we're not a toxic random. I just hope fantagio will step up and give weki meki another bop comeback after this. 7 months is too long for the girls to wait for another comeback. Recently, each weki meki member are promoting individually, if fantagio can find more projects and tv appearance not only for doyeon and yoojung, that would be great.
