Omg! Thank you for uploading this. My husband's first trip to Trinidad and we were right there in the stands for this on Finals night. Would go watch them practice all the time. It was such a joy and brought back memories of my grandfather. I will tell you, it felt like they started too fast compared to all the other times they played it before but I'm no expert. Still sounded great and I wanted them to win so badly.
Godwin Bowen's arrangements are totally different from others. Who else would have d mad idea of playing the first playing of the Calypso in d middle pans? GENIUS! The rhythm is intense throughout. I loved every second of this performance!
I heard this masterpiece on a website called torontolime back in 2003. I listened to this track almost everyday for at least a year straight. Cant believe I found it after all this time and I still remember every part.
