its not kimchi...its persevered cabbages. Chinese were the one who invented kimchi 4000 years ago, it was later introduce to korea. You have to remember that Korea used to be under the empire of China for 2000 years and many Korean culture are actually imported from China. All the stuff you see in east asia were derived from China and invented by china but Korea and Japanese borrow it and made a slightly different. Before this kimchi and korean culture viral i have seen Chinese eating kimchi since i was a child and im not even Chinese....Korean just popularized it and at more sugar in it but Chinese kimchi are more salty and more spicy than Korean kimchi.
