Arguably, one of the greatest interpretations of this song ever performed. Thank you Ronald Isley. Rest In Peace Burt Bacharach and thank you for all the music you gave the world.
Sing Ron! This is one of my favorites albums. I actually have the CDs, too.. Its great late night music. Outstanding job Burt and your musicians are the best! Thank you Burt! ❤😊🎉 More, please!
Ron Isley......singing the music of Burt Bacharach....just WOW!!!! I have patterned my style of ad-adlibbing after this Maestro, and Burt Bacharach, I have ALWAYS loved your music. We relate to your lyrics, and close our eyes to your sweet melodies..
I just absolutely LOVE this!! Ronald Isley is definitely one of a kind and Burt is timeless. I heard him in an interview saying that Ronald was the most easiest & joyful recording he's ever done. Just came in the studio & knocked it out the box in one take. That's what true greatness does! Bless them both :-)
Of all the Bacharach/David classics revisited in this concert, this one's near-nonsense lyric had to be the greatest challenge. Ron Isley wants us to laugh along. And yet, amazingly, the poignancy is still there.
Ron Isley you make me cry so much because of me I need you now I am so happy for you when I thought you. Can find me I am in Southampton on mantauk high way into Southampton shinnecock reservation my name is Lynn Michelle fletcher I am a grown adult I am now 41 years old with you now
Love Bacharach and love Ron Isley. Beautifully arranged and played by the band and a great vocal performance. *But* imo the lyric (a wryly humourous jape about remaining positive in the face of a bit of back luck) just cannot support the amount of melodrama presented in the vocal performance. To me it comes across as inauthentic because of the mismatch.
@@emmettriley3384 It is, don't get me wrong please. I love Ronald Isley, i think he did a more than great job by singing these songs. It is just breathtaking

Is that a flugel horn or something?
You're right. It's a flugelhorn.

I beg to differ. Not a cookie cutter rendition, nor should it be.
I know what you mean, but it does not bother me. It is a little bit confusing in the begin
@@dayram6217 It's called interpretation and style, soul.
It's not supposed to sound like B.J. Thomas version.
