In his latest venture, Vaastav, Sanjay Dutt is playing a true to life gangster-ridden by trauma and guilt. Sanjay Dutt says "Its a film about a gangster's basically, his house his family. It's about what happens to a gangster. You live by the gun, you die by the gun. Co-starring in the film is model turned actor Namrata Shirodkar.

He start his career in Hindi film as director, after success of vaastav he direct some more film and trying to produce film but his film not going well, so survive in industry he act in film any caractor he get, he give 100 percent in his work, his acting carrier start from Sanjay Gupta movie Kaante, he won best comic caractor award in his first movie again Paresh Rawal, he direct and act in Bollywood and marathi cinema now.
