In this video, I explore the effects of different starting shapes (polygons) on the final form of a hyperbolic crochet piece. I used a triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, plus sign, and a star. The results are fascinating, and I look forward to hearing what you think!

Thank you for sharing something new in Crocheting 🧶🪡✂️🤗!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Cool stuff, looking forward to more math crochet
Awesome!
i love the star its super pretty! thanks for sharing :)
Me too! It’s really cool to see how the beginning shapes change the final form! Thanks for watching!
Gee Ben, you crochet so fast it's like your hands are a blur! JK JK. I love the educational videos you post on your channel, they're easy to follow and are entertaining. Also, love the nail polish. I love that you're experimenting, not just doing the usual tutorials. There's a lot to be learned in experimentation. Thanks!
Thanks Zanite! Experimentation is the basis of the artistic process for me for sure! I'm glad you're enjoying these as much as I'm enjoying making them :)
THE TRIANGLE AND THE STAR MIGHT MAKE LITTLE “DISHES” TO PUT JEWELRY IN. I’LL TRY IT! THANKS!
That sounds fun!
I wonder if you went bigger on the foundation linear shapes if they would all turn into a circle? Would it prove that straight lines are man-made and unnatural and curves are the organic basis of life? This was really fun to watch! thanks a bunch.
Technically I think they would all end up fairly circular, but definitely not in a flat plane. there are lots of straight lines in minerals and other forms, but it does show that many organic forms are far more complicated than we may have initially thought.
Interesting topic but the audio quality 🥶
Thanks for the feedback! I pride myself in trying to make the viewing experience better for folks. luckily I have since gotten a mic that has helped!
