Many people prefer USB-C which is understandable, but for such applications I would rather have USB-A with 40Gbps that would be much more secure, or at least have some mechanism to screw in the USB-C and protect it from snapping the motherboard or the pins. Just like HDMI full size vs mini/micro. Wonderful product! Tilta is always improving and evolving.
For someone that doesn't own a follow focus, the UI looks very appealing to me. I know Tilta has the track record, but what are you thoughts on the PDmovie air 3 smart with autofocus?
How can I mount the control handle to my a7S3? I have the new tilta half cage for the a7RV (it is compatible btw) I’ve found the release of the nano 2 to be pretty appalling with respect to instructional videos. I’m still struggling to get the motors to work properly with lenses that don’t have hard stops
Ordered the control handle and delivery is expected on the 4th December?! Why not just wait until you can send them for people to order them; I’ve spent a tonne on other components so I can use the control handle with a hand held setup, but that money could’ve been spent on other things if ive gotta wait this long for it to arrive The roll out of this new line has been real naff imo
@tilta When will you finish the handwheel software? Just got mine this week and so little works properly. Why release features that don't work, with no documentation, such as user lens input interface? To me, what you actually get that works right now is a really weak feature set. And why is there zero automation? You say you design for the lone gunner, but then why do I need two assistants to do focus and zoom?? Even the most basic automation would be more use to me than duplicating the camera settings, which i know full well because I work the camera! AFAIK in this product category nobody is doing that, but we need innovation. Too much of the philosophy of this product comes from the time of big crews and specialisation, but you acknowledge yourselves that that is not the market these days. .

Looks like you had a positive experience. Did you manage to add your own lens to the lens library, because im really struggling with this. Hope they improve that functionality and post instructions. There are only about 3 lenses in the library at the moment. Also, does yours release the motor when doing a manual calibration - mine is really resisting. Also, did you find any explanation why it says it runs on 18v usb-c PD, but then runs on 5v anyway? And what are the consequences of doing this?

Hey Jason, Did you ever do any more testing with the RS3 / RS3 Pro? Assuming powering the motor off the gimbal sled USB-C outputs is going to work, but will the motor actually talk to the proprietary DJI focus system like the DJI motor does? For people with DJI handgrips or for super quick setups this would actually be a handy feature.
How are you powering the motor? I have fx lion batteries with usb c but they're the small ones. I have the Kondor Blue d tap to usb c regulated cables but they're for powering canon r5 , Rc etc. I can't find the voltage, wattage tolerances info for the motor anywhere.
In my cold snowy area, where I wear gloves all the time in winter, the touch screen may not be ideal. I wish it had some physical buttons to control settings. I’m leaning towards SmallRig MazicFIZ. Would you be able to do a comparison video?
What are the differences compared to Nucleus-M? If they are the same power, I don't understand why one is 4 times more expensive. Is there a sensitivity difference? Responsivity difference? Is there a difference in distance? What makes this one cheaper?
You still cannot see anything unless you go right off the camera. The side screen is great but there should have been at least a tiny screen facing the operator.
What do you mean can the ronin wheel drive the motor for a quick scenarios? I will try more with the ronin gimbals. I haven’t done anything with them because it’s not how I use my gear but I’ll try

Man, i wish i could have waited before i got the Magic Fiz, it just looks so much easier to use eith the touch screen. Well, im gonna buy it as i do have 2 cameras so i use this for A7IV and the Magic Fiz for my ZV-E10 😅

Also, the touch screen is absolutely abysmal. Refresh rate of an annum and sensitivity is very hit and miss (Pardon the pun)

How do you know if it’s charging? I don’t see a light indicator or anything when I’m charging it.. I have to turn it on to see if it’s charging

How it compare to Smallrig focus in terms of torque and accuracy? Smallrig now is 50$ more affordable and has a better kit
