Sorry you went with Alesis and trusted the positive feedback. Alesis does make budget friendly e-kits, and that is why they are so popular. I sure as this is your first e-kit you will have fun with it. As I have been a drummer for many years to really get good at drums and you want an e-kit, you need one that is as close to an accustic set as possible. All the other e-kits, such as the Alesis Nitro Max, you can learn on but to a drummer that is not a beginner a hi-hat on a stand, tripple zone cymbals, and duel zone drum pads are a must. After you master the Nitro Max, you will want to waste money on upgrades. The Alesis Strata Prime e-kit is the only Alesis e-kit I would recommend, and as e-kits like this are nearly perfect, you will not need to upgrade it or buy a better e-kit.
