- Old wooden framed elevators that are often clad in corrugated metal are what you call a crib elevator. This is quick look at a part of their history here in Washington state. Look forward to more videos featuring a history of the Palouse and other regions in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

Thanks for the history lesson.
Thank. Very informative
Very Interesting thanks
Thanks Trevor
Outstanding, I live on the opposite corner of the state and grew up in Skagit county, I love hearing and seeing the history of the southeast corner. I am trying to get down to Dayton this spring to help with equipment operator training. I work for the state DOT, though wish I was farming.
Absolutely fascinating! I think these must be unique to the USA? Here in the UK all grain is stored in bins on the farm and collected by the purchaser and hauled to mills in trucks. These are your heritage and should be preserved. Thank you so much.
I did not realize that. We have tanks at my dads, but all 5 full wouldn’t fit but a small portion of the grain. There are groundpiles in the millions of bushels that are sitting on the edge of the Colombia and Snake Rivers here getting ready for export to Eastern Asia.
Educational and entertaining. You’re turning into a triple threat now. Great video!
Haha. These ones like this taje a bit longer to make than the ones where i just turn on my camera at work. Except no f bombs to remove.
Great video Trevor 👏🏻👏🏻
Wow!! What a great video.. Maybe your best work ever! The combination of excellent Drone work and concise informative audio, make this video a real winner.. Well done Trevor, Thank you...
Excellent video! Thanks for all the research it took to do this. 😉
Trevor, you’re a real talent on your documentaries. The history is critically important and fascinating. Excellent work. Thanks.
Many thanks! I am glad everyone is liking it. More like this to come. My girlfriend Loretta is a researcher and editor so i got the best help imaginable.

Great Video Trevor, just for something completely different, thanks for sharing
I am glad you enjoyed it Tony. My Loretta did most of the deep research.
@@TrevorStruthers Hi Trevor, I'm old enough to remember my Grandfather sowing bags of wheat on the back of an old case towed combine, I can also remember my Dad delivering bags to the flour mill with our old Austin Truck, thanks for sharing
Great video Trevor. Solid research and well narrated. I’m saving and sharing it!
Much appreciated! Thank you James!
Enjoyed the video excellent research. You might have a second career as a narrator. Love your Thumbnail
Loretta, (my girlfriend) kept laughing at it so i figured it must be a good one.
The research was easy with Loretta helping me. She has a lot of experience researching things, at least compared to me she does.
I work at a grain company and most of our stuff is cribs 😢
Fancy! Lol.
Still don't know what a crib elevator is
3:36 to 4:36 and the rest of the video as well.
A crib elevator is a grain storage building that is made from wood. When I think of an old elevator it is what I think of. It is often covered in corrugated steel.
