I have worked in film/ tv reality and commercials for about 6 years now. My take on it is that it is also very random and network-based. Even if you are the best one at what you do, it does not mean you will be noticed. You have to be at the right place at the right time to get on to "cool projects", or most likely be buddies with someone that brings you onto these projects. And if you are a woman, like me, it is less likely that your male-colleagues will bring you instead of their good buddy. Thinking about leaving the industry, but its like a drug. Not good for me, but I still want it.
just made a video about this. 100% true, especially about the male buddies. I quit trying to work in camera simply because the men ignore my entire existence and aren't social with me even if i try.
@@LizNeptune This sadly sounds too familiar! I used to think girls/ women could push through barriers, but now I have realized there is a lot of closed doors and glass roofs. I also have a lot of male colleagues that thinks its not many women in the industry because "they are not here trying".
Hello from Philadelphia pa! (Hometown of Will Smith the actor) This video was very Insightful! I think a lot of people romanticize the “film industry” and not look at the reality of it.

My favorite movies change, but right now it'd have to be Primer. My favorite reality show right now would be Season 1 of The Surreal Life, but currently running reality show would be American Ninja Warrior
Favorite movie is the perks of being a wallflower the tv show is the circle on Netflix and hows the meditation yoga going and next video I expect a guest appearance by your newest member of the home your microwave

I left because people give little to nothing while expecting you to kiss their ass. I’m good ✌🏽 I’m going to pursue a career in tech
lol 😅 did 4 years in tech and pursuing filmmaking and it’s the most mental battle I’ve ever had in my life. Ganna look for a job 😅
