I have a question for ya. I noticed in the basic photos app that it compresses my RAW files even before I convert to jpeg. It will say RAW and of course I have to jump through hoops to get it to show me the file size, but when I do it says that a near 25 mb file is 2.9 mb... It feels like they’re trying to hide the fact that the “RAW” file is already compressed. Which... depending on what type of digital work you’re doing could be a help or a hindrance. Do you know if there’s a setting somewhere that allows me to change it so I’m looking at and working with the full size RAW file? Or does Lightroom CC pull the same nonsense? Are RAW files on Lightroom actually RAW files? Thanks!
@@seriouzfilmz9397 photoshop and Lightroom should be available on iPad Air but it’s just so much nicer on the screen of the iPad pro with the high refresh rate and the newer Apple pencil
As a fool who bought the 1st gen iPad pro in hopes of doing photo editing on it, glad to see that LR/PS are finally "getting there." Good overview, but I can kind of see how things are still a little finicky. Hoping someday the iPad Pro can be a go-to workhorse for editing photos.
Ciao Lee, just found your nice channel while looking for "liquify on iPadOS Photoshop". And I'm still pretty confused, as I saw some online videos showing the feature (mid 2022), but on an older mobile Photoshop version. And now I cannot find it in any way. LIQUIFY on May23 iPadOS Photoshop seems not to exist. And Adobe internal help system is a fake... not even a way to search within a manual (incredible for such an high cost suite). Any idea? Many thanks and congrats for the quality of your videos.
Hey Lee, thinking about the compression thing, you should definetly make a video about export settings to social media, from Lr, Ps, Pr and Ae... Your content looks bomb in your platforms! We all struggle with that D: Great video, as always.
Just wondering, any particular reason you went from the 12.9 to the 11" iPad Pro? As a bigger screen would seem to have it's advantages (especially with PS and LR's sidebars taking up real estate). But I'm also wondering whether this is negated by having it in landscape and zooming in - because having your hands on the side of an 11" may actually be better than on top of it?
Dang that sucks man. I had an Apple Pencil just stop working for me. But it was during the beginning of lockdown and didn’t wanna deal with Apple support at the time so I bought a new one RIP $169
Just curious if you have noticed the image files being greatly reduced when exporting from Lightroom on the ipad versus using classic on my IMac. My jpegs seem to be half the size when I export them from the ipad.
I’m thinking of switching to an iPad Pro for my photo editing. I shoot portraits and headshots. I use Photoshop and Lightroom. I’m currently using an antiquated (but still chugging along) 21” desktop iMac with an elderly Wacom tablet for photo edits. I use a 2019 MacBook Air as my laptop, and it does everything else. I mostly use the laptop for writing, as I’m also a professional copywriter. I do a lot of content consumption. And I take part time classes as a perpetual student. I need to read, write, edit photos and watch content. I want to pare down. I recently thought, “Would an iPad Pro just do everything I need? Could it?” Especially with the Apple Pencil and a Magic Keyboard, I feel like I could do everything. Photo edits & retouching, writing, reading and content consumption, etc. And after seeing the Apple keynote yesterday, and the new iPad....DROOL. Wow. Now I’m thinking of ditching my laptop and buying an iPad. Never really used one, at least not in years. What do you like about it? It seems like a great game changer for photography, and portable!
Hey Kai! Apple has this awesome sad card reader that you can plug into your phone/iPad, I bought mine at Walmart for $30+ and I love it! It imports raw and hi def videos 😊
New subscriber here, nice video tutorial. Do you have also tutorials on how to achieve those glossy, flawless skin coz I've seen a bunch of photos from photographers and i noticed how good the skin of their subjects.
So I'm trying to move my edited image from Photoshop back to lightroom and for some reason even if I click on send to lightroom, it just saves and does open it back up in lightroom with the changes I made in PS like it does in the desktop versions... Any solutions?
As a hobbyist, I use both iPad a Mac version of Lightroom and photoshop, but nowadays I use more the iPad versions. The only thing I missed in iPad Lightroom is the capability to organize my library the way I organize it on the Mac version. Photoshop for iPad is still limited if you compare it to the Mac version, but if you want to do basic retouching it is ok. If you will edit your most complex projects on a Mac and leave the simplest to edit on iPad, I think you will not be disappointed.
I remember in 2018 when they announced ipad would have the full version of photoshop. Now it’s nearly 2021 and still lacking many of the basic of functions of the full version.
Its so annnoying that i have the best available ipad pro 12,9 and still when i send it to photoshop from lightroom it crashes at least twice before it works. Also wont work at all unless ps is allready open
I’m considering getting the iPad Pro to make my Lightroom and Photoshop flow much faster. The only concern I have is I can’t find any information on if Photoshop has the liquify tool here. Does anyone know if it’s an option?
Not yet. Photoshop for iPad is still lacking a lot of tools the desktop version has. They keep adding stuff to it but I have no idea when it would get liquify
Lee Zavitz well, I myself just purchased an iPad Pro 12.9, and I’m very into photo compositing, but all the settings are hard to get used to on photoshop iPad, so would maybe do something on that? I really love the way you explain stuff in your tutorials. It’s all so easy to follow along with so thank you so much for that! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The thing I like over the Wacom is that you are actually using the pen right on top of what you are looking at. But for people use to using a Wacom tablet it probably wouldn’t matter.

Can you use a keyboard for the shortcuts on the iPad Pro?

How to download actions to iPad photoshop?
what is your ipad screen size?

Is there a way to import preset files but not with the DNG method but actually real preset files (I think it’s called profile inside the app)
