    oh, i think i've had this dish once. in the US i think it's just called potato pancake. i don't think the one i had had raisins tho. we had apple sauce with it too....so yummy!

    This looks soooo yummy!! I am definitely gonna try to make these for my family! I don't know if I'll find quark here in Mexico, though... are there any substitutes? :D I love trying new International recipes!

      It is difficult as quark is something that is only known in Germany, Austria, Switzerland but not common at all in South America. I think Italian ricotta would do.

      According to 'Google' the substitutes are "..cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, Greek yogurt, mascarpone cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, and crème fraîche".

      That´s a good question. Most probably you can replace it with some vegan ingredients but I am not a specialist in that. Are you vegan?

      Most probably you can but I really don´t know if it is still yummy then as it is supposed to come with some sugary stuff. Would you prefer it salty?
