  • Quick first glance review on the new Dave smith decoys honker decoys. Smaller and one piece. Big improvement from the previous models in my opinion. I used to have the 2 piece ace honkers. Can't wait to use these.

    Pretty sweet lookin decoys. I still think Avian X are the best for looks and i like the stake system on the avians better. But cant beat bigfoota for durability.

      Eric Storey All decoys are personal preference. Thanks for watching.

    Sounds like you've already ready tried them. You look like you more around a lot it's ok when you handle them it's when you're buddies start tossing not bagging them right and your flocking starts going to hell. It's your money and if it gives you more confidence that's what counts. I'll take Big Foot with flocked heads and tail all day long. I like to see your spread when you get them set up. Wish you good luck look for your video

      I have had good success with them since purchasing last season. I have been using my silhouettes a lot this season. but Now the birds are getting tough so time to break the DSD back out. Thanks for watching. BTW I owned bigfoots for 2 years. Good decoy

    Why do you never mix skinnys with full bodys is that a no no or why do more people not do that or yourself thanks ....love your channel

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz  3 года назад +2

      They can be mixed. I have enough skinnies and enough full bodies so I usually have no need to mix them. I run one or another. Some people mix em in to bulk up the spread. No right or wrong way. Thanks for watching.

    Nice unboxing Steve. 3:32 lol! Do you individually bag them? What goose sleeper shells are you using now?

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz  7 лет назад +1

      I will be using the DSD individual bags. They are coming with the 2nd shipment. I use Final Approach 1 piece sleeper shells. They stack nice.

    @greatlakesoutdoors6328 6 лет назад

    Steve, next time you spend that much try out some RDC honkers, better quality and hell of a lot more feather detail.

      Retrofowl Outdoors I looked at rdc when i 1st was going to buy dsd years ago..they are more expensive than new style dsd..also are bigger and heavier..i don't like how they charge for flocked heads and charge for bases. Bases should come with the decoy and not be a charge..same for heads being flocked. Only company I ever heard of that charges for flocked heads. They do look good but i have been happy with my DSD over the years and been happy with their customer service also. Next year I'm adding 20 dz skinnies to my spread.

    What is the size difference of the new DSD honkers compared to something like an AvianX?

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz  6 лет назад

      Jason Tokarchick I would say they are slightly bigger than an avian x.

    The rester with his head almost all the way back i would sell cause those are ugly i have never seen a goose do that

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz  6 лет назад +3

      Mr.DuCkBoY lol. If you think geese are that picky about a pose you are giving them waaay to much credit..have you seen a goose as skinny as a silhouette?? How bout one as big as a Bigfoot decoy? How about goose decoy that are made of tyvek sock with a silhouette head.

    • @vizzionz8436

      Ok you got a point, my bad also how long do these decoys last in rough hunting conditions

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz  6 лет назад

      Lol no worries. All decoys work. Location is key. I had the previous models for 3 years with no problems. The new models just this year and holding fine..these decoys are definitely expensive and not for everyone for sure.

    • @vizzionz8436
      @vizzionz8436 6 лет назад

      Alright thanks, I wish they really werent so expensive cause they would be so nice to have in the spread

      I'm lucky enough to own my own company and money really isn't an issue for me when comes to hunting purchases. To each their own. Just like choice of vehicles, houses, clothing and lifestyles in general
