Very helpful information. On a separate note, photographing folklorico dancing is what got me into photography and led me to my first paid job.

Nice video. Even after shooting hundreds and hundreds of outside/ on location portraits with flash or no flash these videos are always helpful.

Love your videos! So full of energy, technical information, and even a bit of good humor here & there!
I have one inquiry - In this video, as well as other outdoor shootings on your channel, you talk about changing the shutter speed as the ambient light changes. I'm wondering if you're changing the shutter speeds manually, or if you have your camera in Aperture Priority? It seems to me that AP mode would be the most efficient way to go, as the constant aperture would keep the strobes in check, while the changing shutter speeds would then keep the ambient at a desired level. Thanks again!

Great teaching video for student portraits and the glossy book for the student. 70-200, awesome choice! Who needs the 85mm 1.2...👍
As always, keep up the good work and keep'em flying...

Other than the valuable content, your funny Intros ALWAYS catch the viewers' attention immediately.
Not just this one, but all the other your vids as well.
I like all of them. They are so impressive. I cannot remember the actual info you shared with us in the vids, but I remember some of the intros almost 10 years ago. Very vividly.

Good stuff JP. A quick question. How do you achieve focus while using the filter? Wouldnt the filter darken the incoming ambient to make auto focusing almost impossible?
EDIT: By the way, I am shooting on a DSLR not mirrorless.

I am using a mirrorless camera so I am looking at an electronic viewfinder. If you are using an ND filter it is giving you a correct exposure at a wide open aperture. So there should be plenty of light for the autofocus to work.

JP - I have a question and wording if you can give me some advice on a lighting set up for a 4 person coaches corner type of interview / podcast?

Hello Andy, You probably want to use a cross back key with an umbrella or softbox at the camera up high. Check out this lesson. ruclips.net/video/HETCeFspaFI/видео.html

Your videos are top notch and your graphics between every segment are pretty, with good music, BUT… the graphic sections could be shortened and cut in 1/2 time wise as they are the most prominent part of the video.
