It is the fault of various politicians and businesses' greed that Poland will overtake Britain. The UK didn't train its own citizens, but preferred to get cheaper already trained workers from abroad. They were willing to work because compared to back in Poland they were getting four times as much.
Many Poles returned home taking their well earned money with them and bought a house cash.
British workers got nothing or the same money, but houses cost around four times as much (now around twice as much) in the UK. The present Polish government looks after its own citizens - look at the Beloruss border incident last year - so Poland isn't crippled by mass immigration.
Let Keir Starmer be bitter - he won't change anything, he isn't a real leader, rather like our recent crop of PMs.
He will be prime minister soon though

From observation and the people I have met over my time. I have a very good and positive view towards the people of Poland including the ones living in the UK. I think they're some of the nicest, most honest, friendliest and well presented people I have talked to and been around.
I found them racist and boring

How the hell can he be "racist" if he is a white politician from predominantly white country and is talking about other white country? well, it's rather a case of anti-Slavism or anti Eastern-European sentiment (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Slavic_sentiment). both Germans and Poles are white, but it didn't stop Hitler from considering Slavs as subhumans and the inferior race.
We should be careful about such claims, Poland is spending a lot of money at the moment and effectively it's inflationary. The numbers may not be really indicative of actual economic performance.
There will always be massive respect for the polish people past and present from the British people unlike Kier Starmer who has and will do nothing for this country, like the rest of the self serving politions we have today.
Just because Poland gets richer, does not mean the UK gets poorer. What on Earth does it mean 'Poland is to be richer than UK'? It is relative and Poland is in fact suffering a demographic crisis as are all the Vizigrads and Baltics.
It means that their GDP per Capita will be higher than ours. This effectively means the total money the country makes divided by the population. For us to fall behind an ex communist state is just embarrassing

This man has only one answer to any Government in policy, which is any policy proposed by the Tories is simply to say Labour will do said policy, more effectively, faster, and cheaper, yet when one tries to flesh out for instance how would Labour pay for such a policy, out comes the stock and only answer, now for the past 4 to 5 years, "we will tax the big corporation's",!!
Now everyone in Britain knows this is a crock, so Labour plays it's next trick on the public, find a group, portray them as "victims" that the great British public are discriminating against, and Labour, when it comes to power, solve all the problems being faced by this group, as the Government response is piecemeal, and Labour will deal with the problem, more effectively, faster, and cheaper than the Tories ,and the rhetoric goes round and round. The public simply slaps their foreheads and move on.

We all know that this is because of Brexit. The economy likewise is integrated and when the majority decided to decouple from the EU we are now experiencing slow growth and possibly end of our great stature.
Don't forget - based on same figures - projections are that some time 17 years from now UK will be poorer than Romania as well.

In the UK and France there is a massive drain on the public purse because of a problem that Poland does NOT have. The surveillance costs alone must be phenomenal and yet they have little effect on almost daily occurrences of heinous acts.....

I think in 7 years, as much as I want it to be true, avarage Polish family will not be better off than avarage UK one. Our inflation is heading towards 20% and GDP falls fastest of all EU countries. Avarage salary in Poland is around 14k a year and minimum wage just over 8k. Significantly lesser that the UK but a lot of products cost same or more than the UK. Even food that historically was always cheap back home is now comparable with British prices. Not even talking about clothes, electronics, cars etc because these are same or higher for a very long time now. Household bills are lower but not by that much. I know many couples that both earn minimum or close to it and have a good, admittedly modest, but comfortable life. Pay rent for decent apartment, food, bills have a car and go for holiday abroad once a year. You can’t do it in Poland with minimum wage…
Rolls Royce building 4 compound nuclear reactors in Poland. We have half our nuclear supply shutting down in 2025. Hinkley not to be on stream until 2036 now, 11 years late. Perhaps Poland is already in fact way ahead? No investment here. Small compound reactors are big winners, but not in UK. By net zero 2030 we will have almost no electricity at all. i suspect poland like most of the east eurapeans do not have the baggage of being given something for nothing ,so they work hard ,i suspect they do not attack and hate their own people , i suspect they do not have the multicultural b.s of some most western eurapeans, in short they are not entitled . so success is of course theirs for the taking whilst others self implode , maybe a time of complete failure may focus some on how fortunate they are or unfortunately were

@@GaryTaylor-gp2qc Most Eastern Europeans that I know are doing low skilled labour jobs even tho majority of them are College educated (some even with master's degrees and phd's). If anything, West is using over qualified people from East as slave labour. They have been degrading Eastern Europeans and using the fact their local salaries don't compare. Thankfully the tide is turning.

I lived in Poland for 12 years. Many of the government offices are corrupt. Whether that's a problem of the government nationally or just local-level corruption, hard to say.

Romania saved the polish national treasure (gold mostly) and the remaining anti communist polish army units after the 1939 russian invasion, by allowing them to cross into Romania and escaping total destruction.
