- Join the shorthanded concrete crew as we begin pouring concrete on this large job. Thankfully on this day we weren't pouring too much concrete but it sure makes everyones job harder when some of the team doesn't show up. Come on man!

Well, I'll tell you this.. I agree, taking nothing from bugs. But those of us who have done this work don't F*** around, because it only gets more difficult when racing against time. Also I'm certain they are being paid fairly, and making a good living, it's worth working hard and fast for.

When it comes to small businesses where the owners longtime friends are the employees it’s a lot more complicated than just letting guys go for not coming in on a Monday.

I have never done concrete work, I have been a chef for 17 years. For some reason I find these videos relaxing. I have always wanted to try concrete work.
Ryan, just wanted to write that I really appreciate you and your content. It's been a great distraction since my father passed away last month at too young of an age. My Brother, Mother, and myself are looking to continue the home improvement projects and concrete work needed around the house. You and your crew definitely help us take the projects on with a lighter mood, and have helped ease our minds during this process. Thanks so much for what you do, keep up the great work!

I appreciate the fact that you take the time to teach your newer guys how to do something. I used to work in the telecommunications industry climbing towers and when I would ask how to do something I always got "UGHHH, I'll just *ucking do it myself" and never felt like I was learning. Two minutes of your time saves time throughout the entire job. 👍👍

Something I learned a long time ago being in business for my self is the employee shouldn’t have to care as much as the owner and it shows everyday in every field of business. You my friend actually care about the bottom line and that’s keeping customers and keeping them happy. Great job 👏

I have been doing concrete for long time and my uncle never gave time to show me that and u just taught me in 30 seconds thanks now I will be able to do it lol and u are very calm boss not a lot of people would put up with people not showing up at all

As a small business owner for 30 years. It’s been my experience when employees are no shows on Mondays it’s because there’s a issue with ALCOHOL 🍺 .

I do love seeing the Daryl's.... but Bugs is a huge reason i keep coming back (although not the only reason).
Bugs really is a 1 in 50 type of employee... I know just how difficult it is to hire someone with such good work ethics and qualities. Experience and skill is something that only comes with time, but worth ethics are something I feel need to be instilled in to you from a young age. Bugs has it! I can usually tell within an hour if a new guy has that fire or not when out on the sites in our crews. Someone likes Bugs though, its takes all but 5 minutes, on a video even, to tell right away that this man is what we call your "money maker".
I also love to watch Eric grow and improve to more of the private work force. You can tell he knows the basics, but its also obvious he comes from big crews, possibly commercial stuff. I think days like this are more beneficial to him then ever. When the only other two guys he has around him is you and Bugs, then he has no other option to then to work fast and keep up. Enough of those days and you will have that SOLID work ethic embedded and ingrained in to him before he hits his 30's. Before you know it, you will have another Bugs on your hands, but one that you molded to your own Victory Standard.
Like i mentioned, i love seeing the darylls, but in my eyes Bugs is the superstar, and Eric is the soon to be golden boy. Hopefully the boss, aka Daryl Jr. doesnt fire him before he gets there :P Id like to think those two gave you a decent reason to call the day off and you were givin them the hazing for it, Victory Style!, for the video XD. But w/e the reason was i hope everything is all good with our boys! and hope to see them back next episode!
As a construction land surveyor, i absoultly LOVE your videos and they inspire me constantly to get out that and GET THE GOD DAMN JOB DONE! WOO! MAKE THAT EAZY MONEY!
Edit: Take note on how most of your employees, if you spark up a conversation with them they will take the opportunity to have a break and chat with you. But notice how if you try to talk to Bugs, he dont give two fucks if your own the company or not, hes gunna walk away from the conversation because hes got a goal, and that goal is to make you money. Not make you laugh. Those small qualities stack up and mean the world to someone like me.
A week after I graduated high school I started doing concrete. I worked for a year doing that but then I became a welder. I actually miss doing concrete I liked it lol.

I do mig welding for a company that’s actually based in Oshkosh Wisconsin we weld military vehicles together

watch and pay attention to others working! no playing on smart-phones(idiot-devices) or other fiddling about!
you should learn much by watching and paying attention! then start helping when you feel you can and only ask a question now and then to help clarify. do so by learning which tool may or will be needed and snap to action getting those tools there before or exactly when needed!
that's one of the best ways to show you've been paying attention and learning the trade.
