I run mine on a 2k watt but running it while driving, you might run into some issues with oil getting into the combustion chamber or fuel flooding and getting into the oil.
@@michealodom9111 ooohhh, lol yeah 😆 I run a 2000 watt inverter 24/7 unless I'm home then I shut it off so it doesn't kill my batteries. Just make sure you use a fuse/breaker about 12 to 15 inches from the positive battery terminal. Get the correct guage wire for the distance as well.
I am not a truck driver but I have come up with a solution for problem of idling for air my question is is this something that is needed can I profit off of my ideal the weight added would be about 40 extra pounds price for all the parts needed would be $1,000
to show you. my classic $4000. classic same as your bought with blown eng i have new 12.7 trying to send a pic soon i ll figure how to send soon i like your videos be safe
Nice setup be good to do a cost analyses over a say two year period price of the generator AC and components compared to idle 13 hours a day bet you see big saving on top of ware on the truck power head I drive western state's and was thinking even smaller generator and an evaporative cooler but ya thanks for sharing
You could wait about 4 weeks before you get to orientation. You won't get a trailer at orientation. Could be two to three weeks before you get a trailer once you complete orientation. Ask the instructor in orientation how to find sos loads so you can get to work immediately.
I get off at exit 86 so that's 20 miles round trip out of route. I did see today that there is a mom and pop wash at exit 291 on i65. I'll hit that at some point. Thanks for the information though.
@@NomadTrucker yes sir there is and they do a great job there. Most guys if they are dirty go there for a good wash and then let BB keep it clean, only because the 291 takes about an hour to wash once u pull in. It smells like shiiii but they do a stand up job.
It's not very thick, maybe a 1/8 or something in that area. I used a small grinder wheel to cut instead of a traditional saw blade. It makes a mess but won't crack.
It works great. If in in Texas or somewhere in the deep south, I'll use a 12v van from the truck stop to help but other then that it's great. The lowest setting is 61 degrees and most of the night it shuts off because it reaches that temp. A 14 btu would cool better but also would take more to run with a generator.
Thanks for video , keep going bro ,
Thank you.
Theirs a truck wash across the interstate from the petro at the 299 in Alabama on 65
Next to a truck repair place
How can I stop my room ac unit from sucking in hot air through the truck ac vents?
What exactly are you asking? Hot air through the truck ac vents?
Stop by the 291 on i65 that do a good job
Will do. Thanks.
@@NomadTrucker yes sir I passed you Tuesday
Oh okay, I usually have my cb turned up so I can hear others, did you try to reach me?
@@NomadTrucker I did
Hell, I must have been on the phone or something. My bad. If you see me again hit me up. Sorry about that.
There is a cheaper ac with the fan mounted outside.
Kool
How does the generator and upper gas tank vent??
I loosen the cap enough to vent but you can't pull it off without turning it more.
What size BTU AC would you recommend?
For truck 7000 is all u need
If it works it works, anything better than idling. I though my setup would cost me way less than it actually is lol hopefully it works
I can't wait to see how yours turns out. How are those springs coming along?
@@NomadTrucker could this run on a 3000watt inverter while the truck is going down the highway?
I run mine on a 2k watt but running it while driving, you might run into some issues with oil getting into the combustion chamber or fuel flooding and getting into the oil.
@@NomadTrucker ok. I meant the in cab electric inverter.

Hi how much power does the generator has to power your ac, nice job
3000watts minimum I would pick but I seen 2000 to 2500 run them but that's just me

That little generator is just fine isn't it, even if it is exhausting on the fender
I belive it does fine. Just didn't like the black exhaust residue all over the fender.
Ever thought about an electric motor to use as you starter. Or modify a small starter. That way you can start the generator from inside the truck.
It’s a blue beacon in cottondale
Is that DOT certified? Doesn't look safe from a fire
If that thing says thermoking on it your better off keeping what you got
Take a shot every time he says obviously. Good video though
How does that work with land star with you doing local?
What do you mean?
@@NomadTrucker is it power only ? And is it like a contract for a certain amount of time?
So you did this to turn off your truck at night to save fuel
Just applied for Landstar any info I should know

hey nomad whats your email want to send you something thanks

If you sent something I haven't received anything. Who is it coming from so I can be on the lookout?
WHATS THE AC BTU AND WHATS THE WATTAGE OF GENERATOR????!???????!??????????THE IMPORTANT THING MISSED
2:08 generator watts. And it's an 8000 btu ac.
Way better than a 7k Apu setup, nice okie job bro
7k shit it’s more than that

LOVE IT
Can you drop a viedo on how you have the generator frame mounted at the bottem
Great idea with the generator and ac setup
Thanks. It's been tweaked a time or two lol
Even the best ideas need some fine tuning, from time to time. Bet it works better than a apu
It would be nice if I didn't have to set up the ac everytime but its worth doing that and saving the 7k more I'd spend on just buying an apu.
I feel you on that

When you doing another Live Video? Those were pretty good!

What brand is the A/C
Soleus Air 8k btu. I picked it up from Menards
