Nice review. It’s a good rod and reel combo for a good price. I use it for crab snaring and occasional pier fishing. The crab snares that I use are 5-8oz and it’s been doing fine. I’ve reeled in 2 crabs at once and the reel holds up.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing! 👍 Just got the pursuit IV 8000, looking for a good rod to pair offshore 😅

I’m looking to do the same but it’ll be my first time. What size line do you have if you don’t mind me asking?

Overkill but 100 lb braid. Went offshore in florida the only day for recreational red snapper, I wanted to be over-prepared. Long story short the boat died in the water 20 miles offshore and we got towed back in. Wasn't prepared for that 🤣
And the rod is an Ugly Stik Tiger Elite

Between this one and the Wrath 2 which one would you say is “better” in your opinion? I’m surprising my dad and buying him a reel. He fishes in both saltwater and freshwater and likes catching big fishes. I just bought the Wrath 2 6K and now I’m not sure if I should change for the pursuit. What do you think?

Appreciate the comments! I personally like the wrath 2 better but my dad likes the pursuit 4 better so it's really just personal preference they are both really good rods. I'll say the wrath has more flex vs the pursuit. If you like a stiffer rod the pursuit more flexible rod wrath. Both really good rods we use them both

I like that 10ft. But i would try and push it to a 8oz weight plus bait. If it could handle that i would buy it for sure. But they look like nice rods

I haven't tried an 8 Oz weight yet only up to 4 Oz so far. But so far so good 👍

The 10ft 8000 combo is one of my rods I use for crab snaring. It’ll cast 8oz fine.

Nice vid, btw can I pair it with daiwa bg18000?

I would say you could the line capacity it similar to what it currently comes with. And the pole is rated for about the same at least in the 10ft and above
