I feel like a lot of us went through the fake fan phase, just watching stuff because "Ooo this is based off that show I really like." personally for me since I have aspergers I find it harder to look someone in the face and so I would rather look at a good piece of art rather than the artists face but I totally get why scru likes to see the emotion on their face as they sing too so I guess it mostly comes down to personal preference. I also like to see things that relate to the song itself like if someone is singing about a monster but showing their face I'mm just gonna think it would have been nice to have an image of a monster to go alongside the lyrics.
TBH, I've been falling OUT of love for hip hop and rap, cuz everything's been about the same subjects -- flexing wealth and sex and lifestyles I can't relate to, that made me feel BAD for not being hot and sexy, cool and rich--I can't afford any of the brands, I can't visit any of the exotic locations, and I'm unattractive to boot. But nerdcore has kept me IN love with rap & hip hop, because now I can connect with fandoms I love, lose myself in complete fantasy, and see how other fans (nerdcore artists, reactors and people in the comments) interpret things I love and can relate to. I don't care about clubbing in NYC or London, but I DO care about the 4th Ninja War and Marley sending Titans to Paradis. Hearing music and seeing footage from shows heightens the impact, cuz I know EXACTLY what it's referring to, cuz omg I felt the exact same way during that scene, or that arc, or with this or that character. It's the same reason I DON'T listen to nerdcore songs from shows I haven't watched, cuz even if it sounds good OBJECTIVELY, I have no idea wtf they're actually TALKING about, SUBJECTIVELY. I can't analyze the lyrics fully, or even connect with visuals, cuz I DON'T KNOW the show/character. That's what being a NERD is all about--we STUDY the fandom. If I'm just listening to everything nerdcore artists make, I feel like THAT makes me fake, cuz I don't know (or even like) the fandom, and couldn't even tell if their take on the subject is as good as it seems on the surface, just cuz they rhymed well and had a nice flow/beat. I get what you mean, Scru, and I respect your opinion, and that you feel passionate about it--but it's one thing to say nerdcore fans should support artists more, and another thing to dismiss us as "fake" when we select certain songs cuz we relate to the fandom more--the whole POINT of nerdcore. I've been subbed to you for years, cuz you are funny and entertaining in general, and know a lot about music, but sometimes you yourself frustrate me when you react to anime rap battles from shows you haven't seen, and *very good* bars fly WAY over your head, because you didn't catch the reference that a member of the actual fandom would have. I get most excited when you do DBZ reactions, cuz you always get deep in your nerd bag and it's GREAT! Understanding the message being conveyed and how creative and complex its artistic interpretation is--THAT is important when interacting with fandoms, too.
I am here for every artist I say I support. How the artist responds to their fans is upto them. What artists create is on them, I ask for nothing except to never stop being so damn good at what they do. When u ask something like "what do u want me to react to next?...or what else u think I should checkout?" Is the only time I'd request. U should only do what u love doing or feel like doing never what someone else demands and u feel like u have to in order to succeed. There's always another way to go about things. You don't have think all we do is box u in even though ik most paths lead to that sorta thinking judging by your output or past experience. Real fans *DO* exist. 😁
I think in these songs there are perfect songs to show your face and songs where it is better just to imagine the character while listening to it. Like this song perfect for showing his face but a song like Heart Ablaze by Fabvl is better just for imagining the character. So yes I love when they show their face but I think that they pick and choose the moments to do it perfectly. But I also think that it isn't fair to say that seeing the person's face automatically make the song better than all the others
I think most of us want to see other Nerdcore artists do this more often, It really adds an insane layer to music! These are my favorite types of videos, I think that's why DPS's Dabi rap fallen is one of my favorites from him
@No. 1 Spidey-Fan oh man I totally forgot about his Dabi rap that’s a throw back. I just think it’s funny how hyped he gets and yet he’s totally forgotten he’s already seen DPS face before… I get it you do a lot of reactions, but as much as he harps on face reveals you’d think he’d remember his Easy Bag reaction
DPS snapped on this fr, also agree I don’t see how you can mess with someone and not listen to whatever they put out. Also you should check our flare blitz by ham sandwich and peso. One of the hardest songs out you would mess with it I feel like. Much love dog!!
Don't know if anyone else has told you yet Scru, but Cali dropped a new song called "End of a Life." It hits deep, and personally might be my favorite song of her's.
I just want to point a few things out. 1) When you are doing Nerdcore, of course the fans are gonna want to hear you talk about the character in some way, that’s the point…2) This IS their “actual music” and I don’t see how having a full AMV is a problem, it’s up to the artists and I don’t think you should pressure them into doing it if they don’t want to change it. It’s the same for the people consuming it, it’s their preference and if they don’t like every last track they put out then they’re not fans? No, that is completely wrong. 3) I feel it’s disingenuous to see this as developing Nerdcore specifically. What I think you intend to do is basically make them RUclips rappers with very infrequent anime/comic bars instead of Nerdcore artists. You’re essentially pressuring them to move away from Nerdcore. Wouldn’t that be the same as the fans who want more AMVs instead and don’t care for faces? I think your reactions are great, but I don’t understand why you feel the need to put others down and completely lock yourself off from other opinions to get your point across, and then constantly bring up Cam in order to justify it not being just you who thinks this.
Yeah I agree, it's starting to get annoying hearing him say this over and over. And it's really annoying when he talks about us not watching some of their videos when he doesn't even react to them
^This. I think Scru came with a *really* pretentious take: basically "here's how I feel based on my experience with traditional hip hop and if you nerdcore fans aren't consuming nerdcore music the way I and other hip-hop fans consume hip-hop music then you aren't real fans, period. There's such a thing as enjoying music in different ways, and different mediums are going to be enjoyed differently, as a rule. Sure it's possible that non-nerdcore songs from these rappers aren't going to do as well but it's just as likely that the algorithm is causing fans not to see it at all because the creators aren't able to properly capitalize off mainstream subjects to bring in viewers, and for him to say that when he, himself determines virtually all of his reactions based on mainstream content as if this isn't a hustle for him is SUPER disingenuous. I can respect what he's got going on here and there's absolutely no hate to him for wanting to profit off something that works well for him. But having him take such an ignorant stance and say something as pretentious and outright false as "I'm a different breed", as if he's somehow better than every other react-channel that does the exact same shit is genuinely irritating.
I'm looking forward to when DPS drops a personal song. Fabvl's been doing it on and off, and I absolutely love it! I don't wait for something to drop, just to watch it on RUclips. As soon as a song drops, I'm looking for it on Spotify! Shit's getting added to my Playlist!
Got into this scene through you Scru and because you're so animated at first. You're absolutely right. Dps is leaving a path for the rest. Who follows along.
And that is true alot of y'all that think y'all "fans" y'all are not, when y'all only watch one Pacific nerdcore artists over others despite they themselves collaborate with each other. Rustage bring people on his videos to give them the some of that spotlight and y'all ignore them and don't sub.
Bro DPS shows his face plenty. He did it similar to this in the Dabi track, and he completely showed it during the Easy Bag and 300k subscriber songs. And he streams on twitch which gives his fans that other personal connection and chance to see him. I wouldn't mind seeing more music videos with his face, but you act like he never does, or that it affects the sound of his music
The best part of originals songs is the fact that you come in with no idea what it will be about minus the title. When you see a song about a character you have a feeling about what kind of song it will be
DPS hit the perfect combo for me here. Dope ass visuals of the subject matter with almost 50/50 glimpses of himself rapping the lyrics to get that emotional impact. Comparing this format to his current one, I can't say which is better cause the new AMVs are godlike but more of this old style would be appreciated. I wanna FEEL the nerdrage in my nerdcore, ya know?
Yeah personally seeing someone’s face CAN make the music hit harder but it’s the song above all. And especially when it’s about a character or something the video gets me more into it that the dude it isn’t about
Cause most rappers rap only for money and not have a meaning in what they are saying but for dps he likes what he does and he puts meaning even thought it's just "Anime" rap That's what most people think but if you listen and actually pay attention a lot of his songs have a real meaning
I totally agree all of the artist in there group don’t get near enough respect and attention that they deserve. I do think that them doing it on the subject of specific genres gives them the ability to rap about stuff you normally wouldn’t. But I would still listen to them either way whether it’s about what there life is like or if it’s about anime(etc). That’s kinda what fabvl is doing recently and I’m down to see more of it.
Nah I am a real fan, whenever I see dps face when he raps, I get chills, but when its amv I just get occasionally hyped and rarely chilled. It does some type magic when he staring right at you rapping 😂
its about enjoying an artist and enjoying songs from them, being able to relate and otherwise what not, but in the great words of a amazing artist "Good mwurisic is good mwursic" i'm sticking here and with fabvl
I hear what SFJ is saying, and while I can respect his preference, to me personally, I don't need to see their faces. Above all else, I'm a listener, not a watcher. Sure I might watch the video once or twice, but after that, I'll have it play continuously in the background, listening to the lyrics, get a feel for the voice, the fluctuations, the music, everything. Paying attention to the video, might make other things fly by. It might be nice to see their face so I could recognize them, but it's never something I'd go out of my way to see. I'll still show my support, I'll read up and listen to what they wanna say, but I don't need a face to feel it in my soul.
I loved DPS' letter song though I don't remember the complete name I do remember listening to it and loving it I think dan bull had a song to his kid too and one about dan suffering depression and suicidal thoughts
Tbh- like every hater of like you know nerdcore community like "fans" they tend to hate hate and hate. Like if the rap isnt about an anime character they sh!t on the artist like ayo chill- rustage dropped a song one day and like it had a lot of dislikes just cuz it wasnt about anime in particular or something else- if you really support the artist, you give em love, you listen to the lyrics, you are always there to dance and give credit to them because the real reason for supporting someone is to be there as a FAN and DEDICATING your TIME to THEM. scru you speakin fax too like giving the love to the artist is what it all bout, yall feel me? Now i'm not the tip top perfect fan, I haven't listened to all his songs but I listen to everyknew song he drops and am even going back to his old songs to listen to them because I love his music. I also like to see things that relate to the song itself like if someone is singing about a monster but showing their face I'mm just gonna think it would have been nice to have an image of a monster to go alongside the lyrics.
I've listened to all his songs tbh, and almost all of Rustage and dizzy eight. Dps just hits different
Being waiting for this
I am here for every artist I say I support.
These are my favorite types of videos, I think that's why DPS's Dabi rap fallen is one of my favorites from him
DPS has already shown his face in Easy Bag, which you reacted to.
@No. 1 Spidey-Fan oh man I totally forgot about his Dabi rap that’s a throw back. I just think it’s funny how hyped he gets and yet he’s totally forgotten he’s already seen DPS face before… I get it you do a lot of reactions, but as much as he harps on face reveals you’d think he’d remember his Easy Bag reaction
ruclips.net/video/0IguSe1d1Ek/видео.html
Same for this imposter rap. Scru being weird for no reason lol
Scru you need to drop everything and react to "Thriller Bark" by 954mari, Pe4o Pete & Ty Wild expeditiously!
DPS snapped on this fr, also agree I don’t see how you can mess with someone and not listen to whatever they put out. Also you should check our flare blitz by ham sandwich and peso. One of the hardest songs out you would mess with it I feel like. Much love dog!!
6:00 I feel like scru almost talking about himself and most of the nerdcore artists lmao
Always jiggy with your reactions, always bringin the energy. Big love Scru. Keep ya head up, bro
When you realize Scru is actually pretty nice to his pillows compared to these ones.
You should react to Calli’s new song ‘End of a Life’
Cam Steady’s “Dead by Daylight” song is all live action, no game/anime footage and it is FIRE
Shwabadi said he has a IRL music video with rustage dan bull and connor coming up so hope you react to that too
Don't know if anyone else has told you yet Scru, but Cali dropped a new song called "End of a Life." It hits deep, and personally might be my favorite song of her's.
I agree man… reading that a man is in pain is nothing compared to seeing it in his eye as he speaks his truth! Ahh!!
PE$O PETE has a song featuring Fabvl. It is called Reckless and you need to react to it. Stop avoiding PE$O he deserves a reaction.
Bruh that new pillow had no idea he was about to get hands put on him😂
You're so right!!! That song about dps song came out and it didn't do as well as it should
His letter to Levi is a great song been a fan of dps since his game rap days on RUclips
You got to react to "Vampire" by Shwabadi!
Got into this scene through you Scru and because you're so animated at first. You're absolutely right. Dps is leaving a path for the rest. Who follows along.
Scru you going to be in a new ERB? 👀
And that is true alot of y'all that think y'all "fans" y'all are not, when y'all only watch one Pacific nerdcore artists over others despite they themselves collaborate with each other. Rustage bring people on his videos to give them the some of that spotlight and y'all ignore them and don't sub.
Srcu you are tripping over the face vs amv bro🤣🤣
For me I don't care what they show on screen cuz I just like to focus on the lyrics
I actually didn't know he streamed on twitch lol. ima have to check that out.
Scru starting to seem like he got old man memory. Either he forgot or he acting fake on purpose, which is just stupid.
Dunno why Scru acting so weird.
You've seen his face before, in his Imposters Among Us video.
The best part of originals songs is the fact that you come in with no idea what it will be about minus the title. When you see a song about a character you have a feeling about what kind of song it will be
I love when scru is really feelin the ryhmes. And then his pillow feels his fist. Good times.
I joined end of 2019 and I love listening to how he raps and how much he has improve just in 2 years.
I respect your argument about Dps artist like him should be on the frontline when it comes to rap
Hey Scru, DPS has Two, technically 3, more Venom Raps that you need to check out. As well as more Carnage and Spider-Man Raps.
The songs about DPS family is what got my wife into his music
Agreed we should normalize artist passion and support them
I totally agree all of the artist in there group don’t get near enough respect and attention that they deserve.
To DPS’s credit he did say he’d do a Venom rap if the Carnage one did well so I think it’s less of a coincidence in his case
its about enjoying an artist and enjoying songs from them, being able to relate and otherwise what not, but in the great words of a amazing artist "Good mwurisic is good mwursic" i'm sticking here and with fabvl
Scru should react to DPS's "Kingpin" rap. He shows his face the whole video
I loved DPS' letter song though I don't remember the complete name I do remember listening to it and loving it I think dan bull had a song to his kid too and one about dan suffering depression and suicidal thoughts
Scru Go listen to BRIGHTER by Divide Music its a music video of his wedding so beautiful you gone need some tissues❤💯
Literally
Im a big fan of dps i listened to his musics even if i dont know the anime or anything I respect him and love his music!!
REACHED IN HIS BAG FR
FRR
Scru leveled too. Deep true stuff.
I just wanna see DPS get the Roses he deserves😤🌹🌹🌹
DPS is better at rapping than most of us will be at anything. :D
Shhheeeeeeesssshhhhh!
I love Cam. And I love you, Scru! I'll be supporting all of that.
Scru must have the best sleep considering how often he tenderizes his pillow.
He did have a similar style video for his “Dabi rap” showing his face too. You should definitely react to that one
Oh, I've been waiting for this reaction!!
Hot take: i like DPS's Venom tracks better than Eminems. Been rockin with Em since '98 but DPS did it better. Sorry Em! 😭 this shit fire!!!!!!
wait i just clocked a mad possible shot at sl!ck seeing as sl!ck is now returning to nerdcore alittle 'everything is all my fault so every time i fall i crawl back' omg ddd-d--d- don demarko dont know if im reachhing but na im taking that as a shot
DPS shows his face always hit different, he always knows what to do to show that he’s different from using visuals, flows, vocabulary, and beat. Scru knows how to point out the things of we really like about DPS and what we really should recognize in his work 💯💯💯
I agree with you completely, people who listen to him for a specific thing and call themselves "fans" really aren't. Now i'm not the tip top perfect fan, I haven't listened to all his songs but I listen to everyknew song he drops and am even going back to his old songs to listen to them because I love his music. To be honest, I could care less about the amv or comic book video, I would rather see the emotion and effort he puts into his amazing tracks.
Can we get some more Zach B please?
This might be dps best rap yet i know it's my favorite so far from dps i love the beat the most
For me them showing their face would be a lot better because the music will just hit different then and a good different im all in for that
First again
Jean recognize me🥲🥲🥲
Daddyphatsnaps would be a fantastic voice actor tho 👏
Dps went crazy on this song 🔥🔥🔥
Scru, you gotta hit up Calli's new song. 👀
Yeah scru it does hit the same. I'm here to LISTEN to music. Dps could just put a dog on the screen and it wouldn't be any less hype.
think B.I.G get "ready to die" y'all missed! this! bar!
Scru you gotta check out “End of life” Calli’s new song.
I would have loved it if the whole music video had been him singing/rapping on camera.
bro dps face reveals are the best kill shot and easy bag are my FAV songs
I wanna see a whole song by DPS, but no AMV just him singing with edits here and there. That would just be 🔥🔥🔥
Fire 🔥 Can we please get a reaction to the Yuyu Hakusho Cypher from Gameboy Jones?
Coincidence? Nah, its SEO capitalization.
People are bout to be searching for Venom a lot, now hopefully they'll see these videos too.
He just doesn't stop leveling.
