- Ok this might be the most flavorful venison dish I have EVER made!! Jenny and Rick Wheatley created this amazing recipe and I was dying to give it a try! I decided to keep the shanks (forearms) from both my Utah and Colorado buck this year to make it happen! Ill never grind that meat again..... You guys HAVE to try this one!!!!

That looks like a great way too cook the shank I've made jerky out of it and it's tuff as all get out, would love too put that recipe to the test on shanks awesome content ..
My uncle did something similar back in the day but with more SW spices. He called it venado guisada

Also - if you want to thicken a sauce and don't have time to let it simmer, make a corn starch slurry and add it in!

People who process there own deer should know its one of the best tasting cuts...and if you would cut the shank bone in half so the marrow is more exposed the broth is much better and they fit in your pan better.
