  • In this video I review the Spyderco Endela in CRUWEAR that was a DLT Trading Exclusive. I go over it’s features, size, fit, and finish. I start off with the size compared to the Benchmade Bugout and the Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight. I go over the icons Volcano FRN Scales that take off where the Endura and Delica 4 Lightweight left off. I talk about the contoured ergonomically fit the hand wonderfully. I also go over the excellent cutting performance of the full flat grind blade. i point out that the Endela is a fully ambidextrous design and has a four-way pocket clip that allows you to carry it the exact way the user wants to. I go over the fit and quality of the Endela with it’s smooth, enjoyable lock back design that has the perfect blend of tension between ease of use and fidget ability, but safety of keeping the blade securely closed / locked open. I talk about the call me control and fit and finish expectations from the Seki City Japan Spyderco factory where the Endela is built. I talked about the benefit of CPM CRUWEAR to this robust, reliable work knife. How the blade shape lends itself useful to both light work EDC task like cutting packages and cardboard. Up to harder work like mild prying and wedging due to its bullnosed tip. I didn’t wrap everything up by talking about how this is a perfect working knife Spyderco. Due to its white, sand, contour, robust design, that balances, EDC and harder task, all for a decent price that you won’t be worried about using the knife. It is in a class of its own as a masterpiece of Spyderco design.

Love Cruwear, but too little too late, after the K390 came out in this series Cruwear no longer interests me.

This was a DLT Exclusive. There are more Endela exclusives that are in super steels. And there might be a restock on the knives at a later time.

you have to take the edge WAY back, in order to appreciate
what this steel is capable of. 10 or 11dps, no microbevel.

Cruwear is no better than any basic stainless. A couple days in the pocket and it was dull.

Tell me you haven’t used anything other than ‘China Stainless’ without telling me 😂

I cannot speak on your personal experience, but what I can say is that around the knife groups and communities I’m a part of, people speak insanely highly of CRUWEAR. These are people that use the steel, resharpen it, re profile edge angles, get it dull and do it all over again. Also using it from something simple as office carry to heavy industrial task and bushcraft torture test in the woods. They said it’s their favorite steel or it’s “the GOAT”. I would say from just face value without asking you for more information, I would say the factory edge is not a good representation of a steel’s edge holding abilities. Majority of knife blades are sharpened on a belt grinder that is quick and forgiving to the worker that has a production quota they have to make. Therefore most factory edges have a burnt edge that has overheated the intended heat treat of the steel. So it usually take anywhere from 2-3 sharpening sessions to remove enough steel before you get to “good steel”. And as said before the folks I am friends with sharpen for business and hobby.

Ru wear is great I've had this knife since it's release I use it all the time still haven't had to sharpen it . Bucks bos 440 doesn't even come close so Chinese steel comparison is a little harsh man . Great review and it is a great beater knife that will last .
