Like, Karkat's dumb, but he knows what he's talking about when it comes to his niche interests; it's a wonder he and Rose weren't close at all, given both of their propensities for impromptu psychoanalysis, I wonder if I'm either forgetting something or if there was a complete waste of a scene where he and Rose compare notes on Dave right in front of his face.
karkat isn't dumb at all. he's above average intellectual intelligence. he won't be coding viruses, or building robots. and he's not out planning chess-like battle tactics. but the guy isn't dumb. is he gullible at the age of 13? yea. most teenagers are. vriska is literally driven towards winning life at all costs. that's her niche. i think people confuse his young gullible...and almost lightning rod ability to be a foil as dumb. he's literally the glue holding unstable trolls together. if he wasn't the butt of all the jokes, they'd have killed each other off ages ago. he's using his emotional intelligence to keep homicidal teenage trolls from all trying to off one another. well, him and kanaya. that's about it.
To be honest it makes sense to a point that kk and rose aren't friends if you think about her history. I mean we already know that kk doesn't really start platonic relationships as much and kinda gets dragged along for the ride. However, in contrast rose grew up with emotional neglect. This van lead to issues with vulnerability. This results in Rose not feeling the need to emotionally chase someone in the way kk kind of needs.
Damn Karkat seriously roasted Vriska from her personality to her future selves failed attempt at fixing her issues. love karkat he doesn't hold back XD
I mean yeah, considering this is part of a canonical conversation that actually happens in the comic. The "fan" parts of this are the art and the dub, not the canonical dialogue that inspired the rest.
I have a love-hate relationship with Karkat's rambles. They're often good and sometimes not since he would be ranting about something really pointless in my opinion, and it makes it harder to progress through the comic without having to read it another time. Besides that, the artist made it really entertaining, I wish there was more content like this around the fandom. I like seeing people's interpretation of any of the character's interpretations without even having to guess that they're feeling.

She's actually gray person inside that thirsty for attention: gray morally, gray by her actions and gray in very deep, maybe even boring when she's in a calm state; the reason why Karkat said that is because he himself is trying to hate everyone and be rude on purpose, in other words - its Karkat's projection on Vriska; 2) Vriska eventually became initiator of red romance with John, which means that she always could full her red quadrant even if it's temporally(and it's ok I think). She also tried to make some red shit with Tavros and yes - it failed because of her mistakes, but her attempts means that she able to at least feel some red feeling and she's not broken. She just more like Karkat with his "every feelings in one quadrant", in other words - she's a teen lol
