I love this scene. A fitting culmination of the trust you've developed with the Hex in general. You went from being a nuisance they had to put up with to someone they trusted deeply enough to let into their hearts and it was key to saving their lives. This scene is especially poignant when you realise Arthur is totally unconscious by the time the Drifter uses transference. From that point on its the Drifter driving. Yet for all his reservations, Arthur still took the leap trusting the Drifter to get his body to safety. Gah! "see inside an ugly, broken thing-- And take away its pain" indeed!
I think this is "The sacrifice" for the Drifter. He and the Hex learns that love can be the only step missing to achieve something more great than the status quo.
Literally. When the good ending was happening I couldn't stop thinking about that Ballas line "It was not through force of will, not their void devilry, not their alien darkness. It was something else. It was that somehow, they could look inside an ugly broken thing and take away its pain" And like, if that line doesn't fit 130% to the Hex quest idk what does.
yeah no, this story was not it, neither was the update. Basically the story is mid compared to old work, the map being smaller than a corpus ship tileset didnt help get the motorcycle out. The same missions reused, the same enemies reskinned. A dating sim before FULL pvpve, trash. and lets not forget how they cant help shoving the story behind a week worth of standing farm to rank up in their faction. Might as well let the man in the wall take the hex because them mfs arent even interesting enough to save.
Oh, man, okay. I don't usually bother responding to comments like this, because they're never rational, therefore a rational response is almost guaranteed to be pointless, but yours is so egregious that I just can't help myself, and only a couple of the things you've said are subjective criticisms, so it's easy to rebuke. I'm gonna break your comment down point by point, and hope that maybe, just maybe, it makes you take a step back to get some perspective. Here we go: 1. "Story is mid" -- Entirely subjective, therefore I won't debate this. 2. "map being smaller than a corpus ship tileset didnt help get the motorcycle out" -- I *think* you're saying that the tileset isn't open enough for the bike, and if that is what you mean, then I only slightly agree (specifically with Techrot missions) but on the Scaldra missions, that's 100% a skill issue, the bike just takes practice to use well. If what you mean is that the tileset is bad... massively disagree, but that's subjective, so moving on. 3. "same missions reused" -- Uh, no? Capture, Assassination, Survival, and Faceoff are all anywhere from tweaked a bit to completely overhauled, and even Exterminate has caches to spice things up a bit (and I know for a fact there would be massive complaints if there were no Exterminate, so don't even try to say it shouldn't be there like it always is). 4. "same enemies reskinned" -- I really, really hope you're just baiting with this because if you actually think the enemies are just Grineer/Corpus/Infested reskinned, then I have no idea what the hell would appease you. Scaldra are entirely new, their attacks, behaviors, abilities, method of spawning (air-dropped/APCs) are all entirely new, and there's not a part of them that's reused, near as I can tell. The Techrot I can understand thinking of as a reskin, even if it's almost entirely inaccurate. If anything, the thing that has changed from Infested to Techrot the *least* is the visual style. They play completely differently to normal infested, and have numerous brand new units, that are nothing like Infested units. 5. "A dating sim before FULL pvpve, trash" -- I'm going to be completely honest with you, I have no clue what this is supposed to mean, but I shall attempt to extract some meaning from it anyway. If you think the KIM system is *just* a dating system, you have not engaged with it enough, or have done so from a place of bad faith. It contains some of the best writing in the game, some fantastic character work for both the Hex and Drifter, detailed lore recapping/clarification, and pieces of worldbuilding. Me thinking all that is not just my opinion, just take a look at the main subreddit (usually a hive of toxicity) to see droves of people sharing that opinion. As for the PVPVE, considering you were just complaining about no new modes, I don't really understand why you would be against such a wildly new concept of a mode, even if it's not the most mechanically complex (which, considering it's the first of its kind that DE have done, is very forgivable, imo). 6. "they cant help shoving the story behind a week worth of standing farm to rank up in their faction" -- This... quite literally is factually incorrect. The Finale only requires R3 chemistry and syndicate standing, which is, at most, 3 days worth of standing grind and KIM messaging; considering how much standing the bounties and pickups give, that's less than an hour of work a day. Aside from that, you have the romance system, which *is* locked behind R5 with the Hex, but if I recall correctly, you didn't care about the characters or the romance system, so this shouldn't matter to you, right? 7. "them mfs arent even interesting enough to save" -- I dunno what to tell you on this one, man. The entire community has been praising the Hex as the most engaging and personable NPCs in the game's history since 1999's release, so clearly you are entirely in the minority on this opinion. In conclusion, either this was bait, or you were serious, in which case I think you should really consider just... taking a break from the game, because it seems like you went into 1999 wanting to find things to dislike, which isn't healthy. And hey, if this was bait, thanks! This was actually fun to write up, it reminded me of all the things I *like* about 1999. And uh... to anyone else who sees this, sorry for engaging with this dumbass, I just couldn't help myself lmao.
lol be glad youtube decided to remove my original comment because it was "too mean". Just like 2024 BO, any kid can call you bad names, but if you try to roast them. Banned until 2036. Lmao no wonder i dont take this sht serious.
@@thegnp2806 complaining? Im debating and putting a mf in his place for trying to act like he's got some authority on the matter. When he 1 cant read and comprehend what im saying correctly and 2 he's about as arrogant and slow as vegeta. 3 I can have my mf opinion and defend it too. Now lil timmy go to bed, smooches.

DE needs to hurry and let us replay both quests asap.
When "This is What You Are" hits with electric guitar.... perfection.

This is such a good scene.

Nope, all points are completely valid

Granted. But it's okay for everyone to have its like or not. No complaining (:
