Sounds like you Nintendo fans need a Rom hack/ fan game convention like SAGE. It would probably help to balance out the difficultly that these games have. =P
Halloween Hack is only referred to because it was made by the creator of undertale even though he said that it was just a bad rom hack with swears when saying it had no correlation to undertale. Also yes, we do have low standards for rom hacks, most of them are shit.
Its because people dont really bother hacking these big games, and when someone actually do and completes it and makes it whole different, everyones it cause its the only hack that actually changes the whole game and gives you a new experience. Its same for all and Parallel worlds, they the only hacks which are completely different either being bad or not.

the only good thing bout the game I see is that it's not a broken piece of shit. other than that, its a game with shitty level design as demonstrated from the video where the levels are cramped and filled with hazards. I doubt the Souls game will be memorable if bosses arenas are filled with deathtraps and cramped spaces.

THE FUCKING REWARD YOU FEEL SO GOOD AFTER BEATING A BOSS so yeah, hard games are good and this game has a ost from carpenter brut... so yeah, try it
Yay, I love games with bullshit design purely so they can boast about being hard! That went so well with Kazio Mario, didn't it? Don't these people know that not EVERYONE who plays Romhacks like this are uber-competant masters of the original games? I mean if you want to cater to a specific part of the fanbase, fair enough. If you want to make your game hard, fair enough. It's not my place in this world to say what romhacks should and shouldn't be like. But there's a VERY thin line between genuine challenge and just throwing shit at the player and hoping they know what to do. Don't strangle your own work in the difficulty purely so one or two people will say it's challenging and "so much better than all these EASY modern games that are so EASY for BABIES". 'Cause those people probably aren't worth listening to in the first place.
+Sir Blade i beat this game when i was 13 without savestates... because this game is for masters of alttp its not supposed to be for everyone its supposed to be for those who like a high degree of challenge besides there exists a remake and its easy as fuck
not really. you have to know the mechanics of the original game. how much knock back exists, perfect execution on enemies, etc. its not really unfair, its just frame precise and difficult. as for the hidden items and stuff, the very first Zelda game did that too. the right word for this hack isn't *unfair*, its *unforgiving*
Dude, its not poor, its meant to be hard, you get the glimpse of thinking its poor because of the fact you die a lot and there's no easy way of doing anything.
I knos the difference between hard and poor design. Reducing the platform you fight in, adding envioroment hazards and multiplying the enemy's health is called artificial difficulty.
I like games that are difficult when you need to out smart the game to win, games like castlevania do that very well. This game is just the dumb because it is try to be hard and it feels incredibly forced. Sorry, but this is not a good game.

@@ultimateninjaboi yeah and the hardest of games like dark souls are challenging and designed around that so the player can enjoy overcoming the challenge and beating the odds. Here the game is just tedious, annoying, and ridiculous.
Yeah... there is a version called the Parallel Remodel that deserves that title much more than this one though. It redesigns everything that this hack did to make it much more player friendly.

13:47 "It's ridiculously tedious and involves lots of backtracking." That's pretty much this entire game. I'm surprised you didn't do a Kaizo Zelda joke. Great video. I'm bummed this is so needlessly difficult but that's the way the creator did it. Bummer.
There is a redesigned version called the Parallel Remodel. It removes almost all of the backtracking and massively improves balance. I recommend trying it out if the idea of this game strikes you..
Evan Schaefering I just looked that up. Thanks for telling me about this mod of a hack. I had no idea there was an easier version. Big thanks from me, friendo.
wdcain1 No problem. You seemed disappointed about the fact that this hack was overly difficult. The story and a lot of the gameplay elements are good so I wouldn't feel right not telling you. If you do end up playing the remodeled version I hope you enjoy it.
This game is kind of poorly designed to just throw such odds like this. Plus there shouldn't be a "grinding" spot, just have the grinding spot give you a full refill.
Well the grinding there isn't necessary, its just because he knows he has more chances of survival on the first dungeon if he has bombs. I myself didn't even need but again it was still hard, plus that house on the first rooms are really compressed rooms so hitting yourself with your own bomb as you run by the bunch of knights is very possible to happen
I feel like this game would piss me off despite the fact that I enjoy hard games. Like, I've beaten Super Meat Boy and that was thumb-crushingly difficult, but this game is basically the equivalent of those world's hottest pepper challenges. It's not fun, it's painful, and very few people enjoy it.
I remember A Link to the Past had one cryptic puzzle at Ganon's Tower. Where you hit two bricks while running to knock yourself back into a room. But this romhack is ridiculous!
Weirdly enough, I haven't related more with anybody about Parallel Worlds until I saw this video. Weirdly enough when I found out about being able to punch the guards in the Guardhouse while you're unarmed, it made things a bit easier, but that's a huge overstatement seeing that the dungeon itself was still unforgiving. The Hall of Pain... Don't even get me started.
The only way I could see this romhack as fun (unless you're a glutton for punishment or something) is if you enabled cheat codes to decrease received damage, increase the damage you do to enemies, possibly have an "unlock all items" code or at least a way to unlock the sword early/a strong item early. Even after all that, I still don't think it would be fun (let alone fair) because of all the excessive backtracking and other annoying inconveniences. I've seen it a lot in these comments, yes it seems like it's hard for the sake of being hard. However, there is a fine line between difficult and just plain torture, and while I haven't played it myself, I think based on what I saw it goes wayyyy over that line of torture. Personally, I like difficult games. But when it gets to the level of difficulty where the reward isn't worth the trouble and said reward is pretty much just bragging about how you pushed through it, it's just not that good of a game to me. If you played it and liked it or actually beat it, cool I guess, I don't know what kind of reaction you were expecting but I can guess that most people will just say "alright" or something and that's it. Anyway, to each their own and all that, do whatever you want.
Pbg wants Jeff to record all Zelda game footage, play with his ferrets, play and give his dogs baths, go to the store to get spaghetti-os, refill his water and more. Nice intro.
WHY IS THE DOGGO SO CUTE??? Also Peebs is holding it almost effortlessly like I have a hard time picking up my heaviest cat and he isn't even that heavy I feel weak now......
Yeah, I can understand making things difficult but this just sounds like a massive exercise in bad gameplay/game design choices on purpose just to make the game harder. Or in other words, you have games like Dark Souls which are hard but fun and rewarding. Then you have games like Silver Surfer which are hard and absolutely anti-fun. This game sounds like it's anti-fun to which it begs the question of why play it then. Which is a shame because it looks like it took real talent to make, and it has a lot of cool redesigns and ideas. But between not knowing when enough is enough and the cryptic elements, and tedium and backtracking, it just sounds awful.
You can get the Master Sword which is the strongest in the game just have to climb either the light version or the dark version of Parallel tower a second time to get the last gem.
just shows you truly talented level and game designers make games that are balanced and fun to play. ( which is hard and takes genuine intelligence and skill ) instead of making something needlessly hard and tedious ( which is no where near as difficult and any idiot could do . ) Just look at mario maker ( thousands of levels made to be nearly impossible made by almost every player with very few actually fun levels that were clever and made you want to replay them after beating them. )
I love this game because it's actually quite easy at the end if you play it correctly. The key lies in the cane of byrna along with various items that boost your magic power... the hardest part of the game is the very first part of the game.. by the time you get the power glove and get your heart pieces and get the cane and double your magic power, it will start to get easy. The entire dark world is a cake walk if you get the items to boost your magic right away. (ether medallion and magic powder thrown into fairy fountain, which can be done right away upon arriving) This will make the cane last more than a minute and make the dungeons easy. After getting the overworld items I typically start with the dungeon that gives you the red tunic making the game even easier.
This video is giving me serious PTSD. I got to the very end of this game and the final dungeon was my breaking point, what a horrible, torturing game. :(
The problem is that you can't get the bow before beating that dungeon. In fact, the bow is not even in the same world, it's in the "dark world". Sword is basicly (and intentionally) your only option.
Hey, Jeff, do you reckon you could a video on an old Dungeon Crawler? Stonekeep was a blast and I am hoping to see similar videos in the nearby future. Keep up the great work!
Let's see. The hack was made by Euclid www.romhacking.net/community/570/ and SePH www.romhacking.net/community/1141/ They both seem to European or North American
The boomerang makes killing the mini-boss before the moth mush easier. Getting the medallions gives you magic regeneration. Ether reveals paths temporally.
Let me know when you get that footage.

There is a redesigned version called the Parallel Remodel. It removes almost all of the backtracking and massively improves balance. I recommend trying it out if the idea of this game strikes you..

I just looked that up. Thanks for telling me about this mod of a hack. I had no idea there was an easier version. Big thanks from me, friendo.

No problem. You seemed disappointed about the fact that this hack was overly difficult. The story and a lot of the gameplay elements are good so I wouldn't feel right not telling you. If you do end up playing the remodeled version I hope you enjoy it.
1:14 10/10 procrastination
16:08 Nobooru's hole.
looks like link got that reward after all
10:12 Jeff is German confirmed
0:19 - Wow dude, now thats a amiibo loving!
The remodel is much better designed.
Space Hamster is trying to subliminally program us at @1:42 lol 🤣
You should make Pbg play this in Pb and Jeff!!
You're suppose to tap bomb cracks with your sword to see if they are real or not. They make a different sound if it's real.
I love it and there is an active speed running community surrounding it.
exactly. the games you enjoy have whats called "good design". this game has "nvfjnvjfnfnvjknvjsndvjknvnwrugnwrjgn design"
I remember A Link to the Past had one cryptic puzzle at Ganon's Tower. Where you hit two bricks while running to knock yourself back into a room. But this romhack is ridiculous!
I love your videos Jeff! That intro was hilarious!
I now have a great urge to play ALTTP.
0:49 FINALLY MENTIONED PIXEL AFTER 3 YEARS OR SOMETHING
when pbg tells you to do something you say, "yes master". you got that boy?......loljk

thanks for the link bro :)
Lol
Well its a good thing someone was nice enough to make a remodeled version of this game, making it easier for casual players
Link at 7:30 Zelda stay here
2 minutes later: zelda gets kidnapped
We need to talk about parallel worlds.
Pbg wants Jeff to record all Zelda game footage, play with his ferrets, play and give his dogs baths, go to the store to get spaghetti-os, refill his water and more. Nice intro.
I want a Space Hamster cooking show! please.
MickLaBear sizzlehamster
WHY IS THE DOGGO SO CUTE???
Also Peebs is holding it almost effortlessly like I have a hard time picking up my heaviest cat and he isn't even that heavy I feel weak now......
Also, spending 15 minutes on a mini boss (not even a boss and while using save states) =/= fun
I should play more romhacks, this looks fun af
I know I’m late but I found out how to get the master sword: you randomly find the last spiritual stone in a chest to get the sword
Link to music at 3:23?

ericbazinga it's called Zelda remix... Don't know the rest...
It's the Song of Storms remix by Will & Tim
chana L Thanks
Oh god this came out before BoTW and the Switch...
IM 21 WHY DO I FEEL OLD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Your physical copy is the remodel version, it's a lot easier than the one you're emulating in this video
Wow, who is the cameo appearance guy?!?
(I know that it's PuhBuhGuh)
DeadPieGamer No it's Azura the pupgirl
MegaMann14 no it's a copy of Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Wii, released in 2006.
Njw
DeadPieGamer pee bee geeh
I thought it was PeeButt.
i dont think romhackers realise that making a game hard for the sake of being hard is bad game design
Though there isn't a mastersword
the dwarves upgrade your sword to level 2 before fighting draegor
You can get the Master Sword which is the strongest in the game just have to climb either the light version or the dark version of Parallel tower a second time to get the last gem.
just shows you truly talented level and game designers make games that are balanced and fun to play. ( which is hard and takes genuine intelligence and skill ) instead of making something needlessly hard and tedious ( which is no where near as difficult and any idiot could do . ) Just look at mario maker ( thousands of levels made to be nearly impossible made by almost every player with very few actually fun levels that were clever and made you want to replay them after beating them. )
I really want to give this game a try, but the insane difficulty spike is what's keeping me from trying it out.
Backtracking and Grinding... in a Zelda Game.
this is ...so good you guys...
With a special appearance by Austin
Austin? Is that the dog's name?
*sarcasm*
Austin is Peanut Butter Gamers name.

Wow I ca’t believe hammy found this hard. Like a true gamer just brakes the game
Best intro 10/10
You have the patience of a saint for going as far as you did thanks for the great vid Jeff.
Space Hamster More Like Space Laughter
0:49 Dog: "Why don't I even care anymore?"
You have to use arrows on the Knights not the sword... also you can test if the cracks on the wall are legit by clinking them with your sword...
Hard ROM Hack intended audience: Asians.
Made by Asians, for Asians.
I thought most romhacks were from the west world?? except for the pirated games ofc
Let's see. The hack was made by Euclid www.romhacking.net/community/570/ and SePH www.romhacking.net/community/1141/ They both seem to European or North American
***** It didn't go above my head, I just didn't find it funny and pointed out why it wasn't funny.
Also asians can do everything old meme
As an Asian, I can definitely tell you that unnecessarily bullshit hard ROM hacks are not appealing to anyone.
honestly i love parallel worlds because it gives me so much time to play this game so im occupied for a LONG LONG time
Jeff hardcore looks like Viggo Mortensen with that hair & beard style.
You have my sword.
SpaceHamster And my axe.
SpaceHamster and my bow

The boomerang makes killing the mini-boss before the moth mush easier. Getting the medallions gives you magic regeneration. Ether reveals paths temporally.
Alternate title: PBG is pretty lazy.
I always watch till the end for the kick ass end card music. Please officially release!
zelda breath of the wild is on the horizon....
