It's a wrapping method that gives off the feeling of traditional packaging.
The point of this packaging is to keep the crease spacing constant.

One of my very best friends is Japanese, and she explained to me that in Japan they actually have a kind of "culture" when it comes to wrapping presents... because they consider the wrapping of the present as a part of the gift itself, and so that's why they take such care when wrapping their gifts (and also opening a gift they've received as well.) I was intrigued by this concept, because as Americans, we (in most families) rip through the wrapping to get straight to the contents quickly lol. When I listened to her explain, it was logical and reasonable to consider that the wrapping is just as important as the gift, as they *both* took time to make. I have adapted this into my regular gift giving standards and it really is delightful giving a gift to someone that has been thoughtfully wrapped. And I was so encouraged to watch my friend open her birthday present so carefully and respectfully. It made me smile.

I bought a few Japanese books like Sei Shonagon's pillow book for a friend for christmas. And this kind of wrapping would fit perfectly. Really love it ❤️
This was absolutely wonderful, and can I just say, the form the instructions were given was so kind. The "please" made me smile every time I saw it, if someone asked me to do something for them like that, I would for I no matter what it is.

The reason why please was written a lot is that Korean has honorable words, so it seems that please was written a lot when I turned the translator. Corrected the subtitles in your opinion.
Black paper with the bright design on the inside, is so my bag and I didn't know it till today. Fantastic skill and patience!

My mother’s birthday is next Friday and unfortunately I can’t go to Los Angeles where she lives, to celebrate her birthday but I’ll be sending her a couple of birthday presents for her to surprise my mother, I think I’ll give it a try to wrap her gifts like this because it looks even more special for her. Need a quick totrial and this was within the recommended vid, I thought I had cut it too short with my only paper until I realized I had the box oriented the other way around. Thank you..
Ive been wanting to do gifts without adding a ton if tape, if any and using blank paper that I've painted I designs when giving gifts now. This is perfect for me to use a little ribbon and make gifts look even prettier. I can't wait to try this out!

Thank you for the videos. The help was much needed. While my gift wrapping is nowhere near as gorgeous, at least there has been a marked improvement from the godawful products before
I do this technique and sometimes leave the folds a little bit loose, so the crisscross makes a pouch and then you cans slide a little ornament or candy into it.
I like the black one and it seems easy too

I just did the white paper method, it's really cool! I found it a little difficult to make the folds symmetrical, not sure why. Unfortunately my paper had a lot of creases at the end and doesn't look too neat. Any tips on practising?
This is not an easy wrapping method. It's amazing that you succeeded in just a few times.
The second wrapping method is suitable for the low and long wrapping method :)
