One of my very best friends is Japanese, and she explained to me that in Japan they actually have a kind of "culture" when it comes to wrapping presents... because they consider the wrapping of the present as a part of the gift itself, and so that's why they take such care when wrapping their gifts (and also opening a gift they've received as well.) I was intrigued by this concept, because as Americans, we (in most families) rip through the wrapping to get straight to the contents quickly lol. When I listened to her explain, it was logical and reasonable to consider that the wrapping is just as important as the gift, as they *both* took time to make. I have adapted this into my regular gift giving standards and it really is delightful giving a gift to someone that has been thoughtfully wrapped. And I was so encouraged to watch my friend open her birthday present so carefully and respectfully. It made me smile.
Thank you for this video. I have a few new tricks up my sleeve now, thanks to you heehee 😁🥰❤

My mother’s birthday is next Friday and unfortunately I can’t go to Los Angeles where she lives, to celebrate her birthday but I’ll be sending her a couple of birthday presents for her to surprise my mother, I think I’ll give it a try to wrap her gifts like this because it looks even more special for her.
