I had the same problem with my new ZEDi10FX and CubaseLE. I messed around with the settings for at least a couple of hours, without success. Then I watched your video and I was able to get it working. Without your video, I'm not sure what would have happened. Too bad things like this aren't better explained by the manufacturers. For newbies, DAWs are fairly complicated and I'm sure a lot of people give up because they get stuck on basic functions. I would like to see a tutorial dealing with the most basic aspects of setting up and using DAWs.
Just want to say thanks to everyone who has watched and commented. I’ve still got the device a year on since this video. In the last month I’ve switched to Reaper and upgraded my laptop to a Ryzen 3300u with a 2tb M2 Nvme SSD. The whole thing seems to work well now. I’ve used it to record some of my music, listen to music and watch RUclips, and also to do video conferencing with Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Hi! Thank you for the video! I bought this mixer and it is recording well but I can’t hear anything through my earphones when I try to playback. Would you have any advice?
What I do is check first that the mixer is working with normal Windows audio through your headphone out of the mixer. I often use a RUclips video to test I am getting playback audio through the headphone or speaker jacks. After that I know it’s not a hardware or driver issue. Also, I ensure that my playback is set to come back on ST3 channel not ST2. You can do this in the Windows audio settings. Then make sure that is also the playback setting of your DAW. It may also depend on your DAW and how it is internally routed to send sound out. I had this problem myself the other day as I forgot to connect all my mixer outs in Reaper to the main mix. Once I did that, I had playback. So there are a few places to check.
I´ve been trying to make Ableton work on ASIO for the last 4 years and I end up using MME Direct X since it does not seem to be a solution for this but to use cubase. Even youtube stop working when selecting ZEDi ASIO.
I’ve not used that mic before so I don’t know. But what I love about this mixer is I can properly gain stage using the prefader headphone solo button at the bottom of each channel. Click this on, then set your gain at the top of the channel so that the levels don’t peak much over 0db. Then click it off and set the channel volume.
Also, I have heard and found in my experience that this mixer seems to have most of its gain, in the last quarter of the knob position from 3’o’clock to 5 o’clock
Ooh! That’s not good. Write to them maybe. I don’t think I have them stored anywhere. Might have to check the wayback machine (ie old internet) to see if they are with an old version of their website. That said, the unit is class compliant, so the drivers really only help for configuring additional features. It’s one of the downsides of USB Audio peripherals. They are always being superseded and going obsolete.
Hey man, great video! This is one of the most helpful videos I've seen as it is also on Windows 10. However, I am using the free version of studio one as a DAW. Would it be possible for you to upload a video on how to do it for studio one? Or maybe you could solve the problem without a video: The problem seems to be with the settings between the Zedi mixer and the DAW. I have tried three different DAWs and none of them have worked. It records the audio and shows the waves after it has been recorded but I can't hear any of the playback... My headphones are plugged into the Zedi phone output and I'm 99% sure the settings are right (I've selected the ST3 output) As I am a new comer, I am aware that it is most likely a simple problem to solve, however, I have been trying for a couple of hours every couple of days but it is leaving me feel discouraged as I can't solve this problem. If you could help in any way at all, I would appreciate it abundantly. Many thanks, J Ps- keep up the good work :)
I do this myself all the time. What it sounds like is you have nearly everything set up correctly, sally except maybe you haven’t assigned each track in your DAW to output to the master bus in the DAW. If you have, great! Now where I always get stuck is assigning the output of the master bus to a particular output. Many DAW software default the master bus to OUTPUT 1 & 2. Check to see if this is the case. It may appear as a playback or routing setting on the bus. It may appear as a matrix. I’m not familiar with Studio One so I don’t know. If so, change it to output 3&4. A good test I do before going into my DAW is to see if I am getting audio from my computer out of the interface. I usually do this with a RUclips video. This will tell me if the computer is defaulting to a certain output or if I am getting sound at all. Then if I am, I check those things I just mentioned and make the changes necessary.
I just had a look into this and it seems like the free version of Presonus Studio One (Prime), limits inputs to 2, so I wonder if it also limits outputs to 2 as well? If so, this could be the cause of your issue. Have you tried the free version of Reaper just to check that your interface inputs and outputs are all working?
If it is PC, then I strongly recommend you download the drivers from A&H and install them. Then use the ZED driver panel on your pc to set buffer level, output, bit rate and sample rate.
Also, the latest driver lets you choose how audio comes back in via USB whether it is through ST2 or ST3. I have mine set to ST3 as then I can use ST2 as an input

Thanks so much for the help 🙂 will try those solutions!
Thanks!

I’ve since upgraded to an Audient interface to do the job of home studio. I still have this unit as it still works as a standalone mixer.
I feel like I’m barely getting a signal from my mic. I had to turn the gain up very high. It’s a new mic - the Rode Pod Mic

I just plugged mine in today and it was recognized as the Zedi 10. So I’m assuming the drivers downloaded automatically?
Mac or PC?

Please some body help me

It was supposed to be connecet when you installed the software. You had it off at that point.
what about mac ?
If I had a Mac, I’d test this for you. Unfortunately I do not have a Mac
Mine won't switch on
