Hi Z4 owner here. I have an N52 si but this will apply just the same pretty much. First things first take care of the water pump 😂. Other than that they’re mechanically pretty good. Now for mods I’d suggest a ZHP shifter, a new set of shocks and springs as stock ones tend to cease, braided lines and an upgraded set of disks and pads, i run 18 inch wheel and ditch any run flats. And you’re pretty much set with around 2000£ all in for good daily/track car
Got an identical 53 plate 2.5l. Car doesn't do justice at all without an exhaust mod. Day and night difference. Don't get a full backbox delete!! Put a custom box on it (got mine done at powerflow). Was told full delete is too loud and another customer came back to redo it to a small box. Maybe get quad exhaust if budget extends. Can you do a vid with upgraded front strut braces (weichers etc.) for comparison of whether it makes a difference (relatively cheap mod and forums have mixed opinions). Also look at sound generator mod for simplest extra induction noise for free- just need to remove a foam piece into the cabin. Consider relocating roof motor to boot as that is the most common failure.
Congrats! They are a blast to drive!!! I bought a 06 Si a few years back and man I fell in love. It is a convertible so strictly using it for going on drives but what a machine. Disa valve is a common problem, clean out the 2 Vanos solenoid, leaking oil from headgasket. Also use BMW LL-01 approved oil, do not cheap out and do not run it low on oil.
Got one of these sat on the drive with a cooling issue. Lockdown buy for similar cash. You’ve inspired me to fix it soon and get her back on the road for the summer. Cheaper than an MX-5; and a different experience. 2.5 does sound muffled, drilled the back box out but maybe needs more.
Be interested to see the mods you make as I’ve got an 04 Z4 roadster 2.5i. It’s a great car to have a second car so you don’t get too used to it. Mine only comes out occasionally and always puts a smile on my face from the moment I then the key. Such a torquey engine with more than enough power in reserve. The back end can get lively in the wet.
Hi Sid, I have this exact car. Open the exhaust M54 sounds beautiful, open the intake the throttle responds much faster, cold feed from the grille is there just needs a cup to force it in. Mine is lowered and on 19s. New front shocks will transform the turn in if yours are old. I would like to turbo mine, 340bhp on stock motor is doable prob @9psi. I also plan to weld the diff. Can't wait to follow your project! Let me know if you have any q's. And great driving! EDIT: I got a full back box delete, one of the best decisions of my life! Seeing what you're like I'd do the same!
i wish you'd got a high mile z4m !!!! However these roadsters are very solid platforms, stiffer than an e46 m3 coupe, im going to love seeing you build this up!! awesome content.
If the right Z4M rocks up with high miles (hard to find) I’ll do it. But in the meantime, my challenge is to see what a £1600 Z4 is like to live with etc.
Nice video, if it's an N52 3.0 engine, put a 3 stage intake manifold and a 330i tune. Not sure if you get AFE intakes over in the UK but they do a 'PRO 2 intake which sounds awesome. Headers and an active autowerks tune should get it up around 250bhp at the wheels. The last piece would be to fit the diff from an auto E90 series 3.73. It'll be a different car. I've done all of this to a US spec 328i E91. Good to see you back man.
Really not a fan of content about super expensive cars and making small visual or uninteresting tweaks to them. Think we all just love throwing thousands on major modifications for shit boxes😅
LETS GOOO!!!
YES BROOO!
I think when she's finished she should be featured on officially gassed 🤙

Love to see this 🙌🏿 more RUclipsrs need to do affordable cars and affordable builds 👌🏿 looking forward to seeing what comes next !
Great to see you back, looking forward to the series. I’d preempt a new water pump if you’re going to abuse it loads…..
The sound of that E-type 😍🤯
Another straight six masterpiece.
That was like some mad dancing Cobra snake in the footwell lol
Sometimes the warning lights won't come on IF the buggers don't work

Come on Sid your content is 10/10 everything about all your videos are slightly better than most car content on RUclips we’re all craving more content

Great to have you back! Watch lots of your previous content last week! Need more videos! Could you do another garage tour to see what cars you have

Always a pleasure watching you work sir 👌🏾

How did you get it so cheap 😮 I'd love one of these
Nice to see you back. Content on cheap motors are the one. The reg fits the car going round the track, eyes up.
Go Sid Go.....
Budget send it. Be good to see an affordable build.
love to see more Sid!
Gd to c ya bk bud mist the skids 😉 love this video looking forward to c how this turns out🔥👌
This is a highlight for me! Show me everything
You guys in the UK have a ridiculously cheap second hand market. Anyway, I hope to see further videos with Sideways Sid trashing this Z4. Cheers!
My favorite shape of bmw and with mods lowered remapped rims etc can be made to be very special indeed smh truly underrated
Keen to see how this progresses 👍🏼👍🏼
Great audio quality. Thanks for sharing
Always liked and wanted one of these. Good price for it aswell if it's as mechanically sound as it appears to be.
Love it mate! What a bargain!
Man like sid
i wish you'd got a high mile z4m !!!!

I’m looking to seeing how it goes 😅
This does NOT look like a 20 year old car design. Also swapping a b58 or n55 engine in this would be sick lol
These are 16,000$ in Australia rn for the same year model with 200,000kms
Hi strap a Turbo on it. Great Video.
You weren't kidding about the different facial features.
Oh its a helmet.
My bad, I'm old.
😂😂
sid with an M54 😮💨
What happened to the 182? 🤔 🤔
I sold it
@@SidNorth shame, would have loved to see you do a track day in it! 🤔🤔

Fiat uno turbo
Honda crx
Mazda rx7
Car review pretty please
Working on it
Really cheap, so bad that LHD cost like 6x more.
Think you got carried away with the ads on this one.
