I disagree about Lilith’s Birthright, her Birthright is meant to continue encouraging her to collect familiars. It turns Dry Baby and Farting Baby into Trinity Shield and it makes all your shooting familiars accurate and a huge DPS increase. I think it’s very creative and fun
I have to disagree on the Azazel one. Mostly because of the sound Birthright Azazel's brimstone makes. I know it doesn't have any real mechanical upside but the unique sound makes it feel SO GOOD. Also, if you get Azazel's Birthright, and 2 copies of Brimstone, the resulting beam is as big as a full Mega Blast, and you have it permanently. Also, T. Lost's Birthright should be making all Holy Cards replaced by Quality 3-4 Items. The point of the character is "Better Items, No Mantle", give it THE BEST items and NO mantle.
if you’ve heard of the epiphany mod, it adds tarnished characters (pretty much tainted tainted characters), that could be a great idea for tarnished lost, bc rn only isaac maggie cain judas and eden are in the mod
Hearing you speak of Azazel as being the Devil Deal character got me thinking that maybe his Birthright can be the reverse of "The Stairway" item, making it so that he gets a special Devil Deal or Black Market room at the beginning of each floor, with unique trade-offs, such as getting a curse on the floor for an item or getting x number of broken hearts.
Birthright (Azazel) _The Highway_ Spawns a red trapdoor on the top left of the starting room which contains devil deal items. Taking any item will add broken hearts. Holding this item removes one broken heart during the floor transition.
The thing with T. Bethany's Birthright is that they're ALWAYS 2 tier 3s and 2 tier 4s. The chance of getting Polyphemus, Magic Mushroom, Twisted Pair, or other run changing items is enormous considering how little passive tier 4s there are in comparison to other items.
For tainted Cain, I think it would be fun if it instead of adding a second bag of crafting it gave you the bag of holding to store pickups for later, making you able to complete your current crafting recipe and have more pickups ready for you when you finish it
That sounds... Overpowered, perhaps...? Maybe, rather than being a full effect based on chance, perhaps making it 3-5 birds that are guaranteed to spawn on hit? But also giving it a cap of 14 birds so that you get the soul of eve effect after ~4 hits
I would suggest for the Keeper to get a "refund" on all the consumables he gets on a run. I think it would be a HELL of a lot better than a HP upgrade, and give you more of an incentive to use Runes / Pills / Cards during a run.
I saw someone say that it should add another heart and he can pick up Nickels and Dimes as hearts, with special properties. Like nickels give blast resist and dimes give a holy mantle effect + the blast resist per floor or something.
@@YellowSnow That sounds like a good idea. Though let's build on that. Lucky pennies don't give permanent stat upgrades. Instead, they give the perfection bonus, and be able to lose it just the same. What about Golden Pennies? How about THAT be the way he gains permanent HP. Sticky Nickles don't need to be bombed, obviously. What about the Dollar? If he gets it, he should also get a red stew effect based upon how close he is to 99 Cents (Like a more powerful M=P). Quarter actually has a use now. It makes it to where your next Greed Fight is befriended. Penny Trinkets have a 2% chance of being 'swallowed' whenever you enter a new room. Smelter Style. How does all this sound?

For Eve I could see a cool change being: when Dead Bird is activated, 7 birds are spawned instead of just 1. Seven Sins for the Original Sin. Or she could gain creep and flight when in her curse state. Either way there is some damage or utility which to me warrants buying birthright. Cause its not just finding birthright. You gotta buy it, its kinda rare (not fully but you don't see it every run), and you might need to choose between it and some other solid shop item. As for Lilith, we could do the Apollyon shtick where her built in active gains a cool benefit. I can see a cool idea being every activation of Box of Friends giving her a chance to permanently get a new familiar. She already has Cambion Conception as well so maybe giving her extra uses from that could work like Samson's. Its not super creative either way but its more fun then familiar in front of you. One way encourages you to use your active more often and one encourages a willingness to take more risks. And both ways fit into the 'mother of monsters' idea
Belial incarnate also changes the effects of some actives, jar of wisps spawn the book of Belial wisps from virtues Alabaster box gives 2 black hearts and a devil deal item
Urn of Souls also shifts from a flamethrower to a sustained brimstone beam, how to jump doesn't increase damage but it hurts enemies on contact, guppy's paw gives permanent damage per every heart container converted, etc. They *really* thought this out.
I know this is way late in the games cycle but a few ideas: Eve: Bird is always active. When it attacks it gets a visual blood effect. After attacking for 5 seconds, the blood drawn from the enemy is transferred to Eve, buffing WoB. After another 10 seconds, the bird itself gets buffed, allowing it to shoot brimstone beams. Bethany: Gains wings that give flight. At the entrance of each level, there’s a ladder that leads to an angel room, similar to stairway. You can buy these items with soul charges or wisps only. Azazel: Chain brim. Hitting an enemy with brimstone channels the brimstone through the enemy, which then seeks out another enemy. If there are no other enemies, the Brimstone overcharge flows out of the enemy and pools next to them, creating a Brimstone mine that the enemy can step on (mostly useful for boss fights) Blue Baby: An arm and… another arm. Blue baby’s arms fall off and are combined via poop into a humanoid monster. This new monstrosity can fling poop at enemies with random effects like tainted blue baby. However, the monster is constantly suffocating and “dies” every minute or so. Blue Baby’s arms perform CPR to resuscitate the monster, which takes 15 seconds. When the monster is back, it begins with a big poop explosion before going back to slinging poop Lilith: Fuses all following familiars into one. New familiar visually resembles incubus fused with succubus. Also gains succubus damage / buff field (stacks with succubus if you have that too). Box of friends spawns another of this creature, but it tracks enemies down itself in an automated fashion Tainted Isaac: Gives a buff similar to the gunslinger from EtG. Isaac’s items gain 1 random synergy. Synergies reset each floor Tainted Judas: Enemies are temporarily frozen after dark arts. Damage done to enemies as a back attack is doubled for Tainted Judas all the time now, but tripled against enemies in this state. Enemies become more resistant to stun effect after being hit too many times in a short duration Tainted Lost: Killed enemies spawn ghosts that attack other enemies. If the lost gets killed on a screen with a ghost on it, it instead consumes all ghosts in the room to remain alive, granting a holy mantle’s length of I frames after ghosts have been consumed. A timer begins overhead in which tainted lost must defeat all enemies in the room. Killed enemies add to the timer via consuming their souls. Any hit in this stage will kill Tainted Lost as usual Tainted Apollyon: Flies no longer shoot out in front of you and now either follow the cursor or are controlled by analog stick. Apollyon automatically shoots tears at the swarm. If the tear connects with the swarm, a special effect happens (flies catch on fire, flies freeze enemy, ect). Abyss gains a secondary feature that allows it to gradually charge inside a room. When charged, activating it puts flies into a defense formation around Apollyon that lasts a second or so. Abyss still has a separate charge for consuming items still. Tainted Azelal: Sneeze shoots out small blood snot bubbles that move a short distance before bursting. Bubbles do little damage but add brimstone curse to enemies. If enemy already has brimstone curse, bubbles have a small radius explosion upon impact that deals decent damage and prolongs brimstone curse. Regular thin brimstone can be extended in length a few frames by tapping the attack button at the end while simultaneously sneezing / shooting all blood snot bubbles, as a reference to Brimsnap from flash Isaac
For lilith an idea that fits the character but will definitely be op, all her familiars inherent her tear effects. They don't copy her tears like incubus but effectively get her items so a lil'brim when lilith picks up tech would have the tech laser wrapping around the beam.
The problem with Apollyon’s effect is that if you drop/don't have Void, it's straight up useless. I don’t know what else they could have done for him, but they should have changed the character, not his item. Edit: And I'm pretty sure Apollyon is the only one with this problem, the Tainted characters can't drop their items (they are in the Q slot), Judas gets a copy of the Book of Belial if he doesn't already have it, and (I think) none of the other regular characters have a Birthright effect that impact their spacebar item.
@@ChillstoneBlakeBlast idk, maybe if I'm in caves 2 and I find Red Key or something like that I would drop void, but yeah in most of Apollyon runs you would never leave void behind (my point still stands tho, change the character not the item)
Why would you drop Void though? Just Void whatever you dropped it for? Unless maybe you're in a Devil/Angel room and find an amazing active while having no Void charge, but at that point do you even need Birthright?

Liliths birthright makes it so that all her familiars have a formation when youre firing, not just having them fire in front of you, using box of friends her familiars shoot beside her as well, giving huge aoe, like youd usually want to try and do in greed when playing as her

Here's an idea for Lazarus: "Eternal". As long as you have red heart containers, you can keep respawning by sacrificing one, with all the cummulative effects of Lazarus Risen. Of course, once you die with a single red heart container you're gone for good. Besides this, just to ensure it CANNOT be detrimental, it should also bring your heart containers to three if theyre below. And if we're feeling REALLY feisty, you could even make it so that he always has at least two heart containers on floor start.

Eden's is a reference on how the character works on the four souls game, at the start of the game the player can choose between the first three cards od the treasure deck for their starting item
Azazel birthright is actually pretty cool you have to remember that hes already starts with a Form a brimstone and flight hes a strong character so having now your attacked take up like a quarter of the screen on top of whatever else you get in that run can make it crazy my 1st run with it I had parasite this huge beam just ate everything in the room

What if Blue Baby's birthright was called like, I dunno, Festering Body or around that where he gets dead themed enemys in a room charmed or something along the lines of him being suffocated, or just straight up being a dead body.
Azazel's birth right imo should be the wide beam as normal, with an additional uncapped speed increase when the beam is firing, and a moment of invincibility at the moment you fire.
Tainted Jacob is really cool because it has to do with the Bible story. The little header for T Jacob's birthright is "it's not yours" because in the story of Jacob and Esau, Jacob tricks their father, Isaac, into giving him Esau's birthright.
Lost birthright should spawn a spotlight that lets him ascend to the previous floor, new item rooms and all. Goes with the character in terms of Isaac flashing through all his memories and his soul going to heaven

Maybe you can go in the TV yourself and get into a mini-room with a free item or two although I am not sure how you would get back down, Or it could just delay the beam to the next floor

So i know you are not the biggest tainted forgotten fan but as a fan of t forgotten, it's birthright is easily the most fun i had in the entire game. Fights like Hush can be boring with T forgotten because you kinda just throw the skeleton body once and that's it. So with the birthright you dont remove from the gameplay but instead compliment it. Also, for Azazel and T Azazel the birthright isn't that amazing but is cool looking and fun. That also goes for Lilith birthright too, but i see your point that kinda removes the gameplay aspect of lilith.
Regarding Lilith, birthrights are supposed to compliment the weak points of the character. Lilith's weakness is accuracy. Lilith's birthright fixes that. You can argue stuff like Azazel's not complimenting his downside (lack of range, not width) but T Azazel makes the sneeze more viable and helps with the sneeze's short range. Tldr birthrights supplement weak points, not necessarily great in any way
Ayo T-Forgotten represent I agree that their Birthright effect is great, stops the game from becoming Red Rover all over again, though my best run with em didn't get it, and it didn't really need it anyway I got Ipecac first floor and immediately was like "I know what I must do" - I blitzed through the game so fast I beat boss rush _and_ got to Hush's floor by the time boss rush would've closed
Keeper : hp up plus something interesting/passive, like the greed thing you said, or maybe he reanimates the dead beggars, and makes them unique helping enemies? I think that would be fun, and maybe those beggars give you what they would’ve given bombed? I just like the idea of a beggar gang
i think tainted forgotten's birthright is actually pretty perfect. maybe if the item didnt have as much of a cool down if one at all it would be absolutely amazing but its still great. usually you have to plan aroubd throwing the bones and then navigating to pick him back up but with recall you just have to throw him and then call him back which does do basically double throw damage since it hits again on the way back
The Keeper birth right effect should let him get a “Buy one get one free mechanic” where he alternates between having to buy an item first then the next is free. I want to love the Keeper character but the thing holding him back is the health cap of 3. I honestly think that Keeper should be able to get health upgrades and cap out at the standard 12
@@SammySinner6 I really love the Keeper but I think the thing that bothers me more about the 3 coin heart cap is the fact that it feels like you can never let go of wooden nickel. For me it’s like you have to take a massive risk to take any active item unless you have schoolbag, and I hate not being able to experience the active item part of the game with this character. Even if he could cap out at 6 coin hearts, I would feel more confident about letting wooden nickel go knowing I can get to 6 hearts. Plus keep in mind that he always takes full heart damage so even if he was capped at 6, it’s still not the standard 6 red hearts that can take 12 hits on floors before the womb.

for Tainted Eden I think along side with the Sacred Orb effect you suggested, HP ups T Eden got earlier should be rerolled only into other HP ups because if you have a weird run without much fixed health it can just kill you
For eve's birthright, I have 2 options to change it. Both doesn't touch the dead bird part. First is HoB's damage multiplier for eve when it's active goes up every time you use razor blade for the floor, by 0.05. 2nd is slightly more mundane, it's HoB activation threshold becomes 2 hearts, and Razor Blade goes into her pill slot like a starting item for tainted characters.
Azazel's birthright is underrated imo. Yes it does sound lame, i think it was too when i read about it. But when you you use it in game, especially in early floors, it helps a lot. You can mindlessly aim to a general direction and decimate agile enemies easily. Plus, as another person has also mentioned, the sound is so satisfying
I think a cool idea for Tainted Maggy would be a buff for her deadly hug - what if whenever you killed an enemy with a hug, they burst into gore like when Samson goes berserk and does a bit of damage to nearby enemies, like you're hugging the enemy so hard they explode?
Tainted Apollyon actually does get special Wisps from Abyssing different Items... but there's only a handful and they're for No. 1... and Brimstone... and other Items you'd never Abyss.
@@bd1pLP spoon bender and other items that give you homing make wisps homing too which is very worth it. I don't remember what the other effects are because I don't play him very often but maybe they could be worth it as well?
@@TopOfAllWorlds yeah some definietley would be worth it, problem is there's really nothing in game that shows yu "hey, these flies are homing!", some kind of color distincition or things that like to not only make the character more viually appealing but also overall just a more fun character to play. For example, if on my first run I suck up spoon bender on the chest, and I dont notice anything has changed, I'm not going to do it on subsequent runs, because i dont think it does anything
Here’s some of my takes for what you mentioned. Isaac: His main idea revolves around rerolling and the D6 so his ability to flip between two is reasonable Maggie: Perfect BR, but maybe also add Hp ups give 2 containers and hearts heal double Cain: I like the arcade idea a lot, but if I had to switch, make it so you can steal one item in the shop and that there’s a shop on every floor. He’s based on the RPG thief class, so I feel it makes sense to steal something. (Also maybe a chance for the shopkeeper to turn into greed if an item is stolen) Judas: The perfect BR ???: (stealing from a mod) Keep the HP up, but also make it so when he touches any hearts that don’t work for him (bone hearts, rotten hearts, red hearts) and tun them into dips Eve: I really like her idea, but just in case add it to have two or three dead birds to match with the ability her soul gives Samson: Since biblically he is the strongest, maybe a permanent dmg upgrade and his lust gives more damage at once instead of more damage over time Azazel: I like the idea of a wider brim since he’s trying to be like Mega Satan, but just give him also a decent range upgrade to allow for more chaos Laz: I personally don’t like this one since if forces you to just go as alt laz. I’d try something that both can benefit from. Maybe give him a small all stats that grows as he dies so you start okay on the first one, then become risen and more stats. Die with soul of Laz and even more stats to play on his idea of revival Eden: keeping the spawning the 3 items from random pools, but let’s crank it to 11. Keep the 3 items, but when they spawn they’re in the a glitched crown state so it’s even more of a rng gamble. In terms of a long term effect, whenever a new item spawns another pedestal shows up that has an item from a random pool and you pick which to take. Lost: a great effect that doesn’t need changes since it removes anything he can’t work with Lilith: reduce the cap that cambion conception has so it doesn’t stop at 4 and double the amount of familiars Lilith currently has Keeper: shops are on all floors and every shot hit on an enemy has a 1/15 chance of spawning a coin Apollyon: perfect Forgotten: perfect Bethany: Book of virtues spawns double the whisps and they have more health than normal (her faith protects her) Jacob & Esau: I think the sharing is fair since they’re brothers. It it’s to be a wow, make it so it’s shared all previously obtained items each one got The Broken: I like the increased space so it’s more to work with. However for a different one, I’d rather have the ability for dropped items to be flipping between two choices as if it was the first time seen The Dauntless: make her hugs do x9 and turn all hearts from half to full. (As a bonus make it so she doesn’t bleed in rooms with no enemies, but might be too broken) The Hoarder: original ability is good, but also add that it increased pick up drop chance and pick up quality The Deceiver: just make it actually work and it’s not bad The Soiled: Add some rare poops to the pool like gold poop that gives the Midas touch effect to enemies that touch it. Also the rare giant poop that can work like a chaos card crushing someone in such a giant poop The Curdled: decent original effect. However, I’d like it if it flips on the Sumptorium version Whore of Babylon without the specific triggers of no clots and at half a heart The Savage: just put him in the rage mode permanently imo The Benighted: I like bigger sneeze, but I also agree on making it have more knock back and knock back damage. The Enigma: beautiful ability. No changes needed. Except maybe making it easier to see the shadow Lazarus’ tears The Capricious: The lock effect is great for its playability and I like it. If we want thematic, then make it so each item has a 10% chance to reroll into a glitch TMTRAINER item to fit with the randomness theme The Baleful: the 1-up is incredible since it only 1 of 4 instances he can get a 1-up (Laz soul, missing poster, inner child if beast run) so I respect it as is. In terms of unique, make his item pool even better to make it limited to items that quality 2 and up only. The Harlot: keep as its, but make it tagged with adoption papers to allow for familiars to be gotten much more easily The Miser: keep the magnet for coins, but also give his special coin tears that Ultra Greed has (also slap on the hp up that keeper got) The Empty: Great effect. No change needed The Fettered: Great ability, no change needed The Zealot: similar to Bethany with stronger wisps, but adding the chance for a second wisp to spawn when used The Deserter: Lol. Keep what it is currently. However, do give Jacob a holy mantle in his lost for so it’s a buff to the entire character and not just Dark Esau
I disagree with some of these but Tainted Forgotten is the biggest one. T. Forgotten is played in three parts: you drop the body, you attack while you dodge, and then wait for a chance to retrieve it. Recall completely flips that and it becomes a more dynamic character overall, you throw it and maybe you recall for the extra whip damage, or you move across the room and get it back, one of the best birthrights in the game
I think for T. Forgotten they sould make a tear chain inbetween the skeleton and the soul so you can run around doing damage with you chain, and for Samson they should give him a stand like thing for example somthing like T. Josuke in the JoJo mod.
I also love T. Jacob's birthright description being "It's not yours" and benefiting Esau instead. Just such a fun twist on what the player might be expecting.
Imagine if tainted lost’s birthright gave him a weaker “restored” version of holy mantle that flickers on and off at random; stacks on top of holy card, and only works in rooms you haven’t been hit in before, maybe it can even burst open and disperse projectiles when it breaks, like the telekinesis effect
I think lilith's birthright should give her a 6 charge pocket active that unblindfolds her for 1 room, and jacob's birthright should give him a second esau.
hi, like a year late, I think that (not taking into account balancing) replacing blue baby's flies with abyss flies that last for a floor/few rooms might be cool. Granted idk anything about if that would be balanced or not and it would kinda just be stealing t apollyon's thing. Maybe you get a small chance to drop pedestal items from the room's pool from poops?
a cool thing that could work for Tainted Keeper, could be; Every coin you pickup, gives a 1 second (or maybe half a second) extra HP (Coin Health). If the 1 - 0.5 Second timer runs out, you just keep the coin join earned from picking it up. If you get hit within that 1 - 0.5 Second window the temporary coin HP is up, you lose the coin, but only lose the Temporary Coin (and of course doesn't affect Devil Deal, tho i believe it doesn't normally as well?) Would probably have to cap it at either 6 or 12 (not to just somehow get 50 coins and stand there with 50 HP) I hope this made sense, and honestly thought it would maybe be a funny idea, to still use the health mechanic
Same thing with Jacob and Esau, want to love the character but it’s frustrating having to split the items. He should at the very least work like co op where you get two boss items
@@PancakemonsterFO4 I think it’s better to give them a co op experience rather than just starting them with an item. They really aren’t that bad and can be very very fun characters to play. Too big of a buff will make them OP however, so it’s better to give them a small tweak. The best thing would be if devs could remove a few of the rooms that make it virtually impossible for them to not get hit, just remove these rooms for Jacob and Esau. Spiked rooms with stone turrets or stone pullers are the worst.
My thought for a lilith birthright: She spawns a new, random familiar at the start of every floor after taking the item. It’s a really strong, thematically appropriate effect, and it makes box of friends exponentially more effective
I think he didnt get at all the Lilith birthright, ALL the familiars go in the formation, like, it really fits the character and make any familiar a WAY more powerfull dps upgrade, its like, she is the mother of demons (cambion conception bru), she now really use the babys :>

For T Eden you could give a 6 or 12 room recharge pocket active that rerolls all of his items (except the special items birthright, key pieces, etc) like a controlled reroll
An idea I had for Jacob and Esac is “Shared Destiny” if Jacob or Esac pick up an item from that point on, their brother gets a random item from that same pool. For instants, if you have Jacob pick up a Devil deal item like brimstone, Esac gets mom’s knife. Esac picks up god head, and Jacob gets sacred heart. This plays up the aspect of two different characters and has a way for them to “Share Items”
I think for Lilith it would be cool to have her spawn a random demon familiar instead of the permanent incubus that shoots a few times and then leaves and another one does the same thing Also maybe make so that the permanent versions of the demon familiars receives a buff like: Twisted pair deals 100% of your damage Succubus has a bigger aura Rotten Baby spawns more flies (if I'm correct and that's what he does)
For Blue Baby's Birthright, there is one synergy I've seen that takes advantage of it very well. This being it combined with Binge Eating. Since you can get HP ups from EVERY item pedestal, you can get almost infinite health. Combine that with various on hit items, and you can do big damage.
That's a really good alternate. T Isaac's cirrent birthright is fine imo and it makes him a lot stronger but that random item pool tuing is super smart
Azazel is a fallen angel so even though it's a demon now it's birthday would be about it's angelic time imo so I think it's birthright should be something like" angel up + more deals" and you can take multiple angel items with health deals like devil deals
I think a good Lilith birth right change can be making her incubuses more aggresive. The closer you are to the enemy. The more damage and fire rate you get. Or maybe just make the be able to react the actives and card usage. Even pills can effect them too maybe.
T. Bethany's high HP wisps are all quality 4 items (maybe 3 and 4, I don't know), so usually it gives really good items. Still, I get that you could just use it 4 times and have similar results with less wisp HP.
30:25 I think T.Cain gets more special pickups from items too. Like birthright causes secret pedestals to spawn 2 bone hearts instead of 1. His birthright is very powerful in special rooms like deal rooms and secret rooms for that reason, but in treasure and shops I think it sucks because I don’t think those pools have any special guaranteed pickups when you grab an item in there. Maybe his birthright should just highly increase the chance of high quality pickups spawning at any time in any room for any reason. For example, angel rooms have a higher chance to have eternal hearts, regular rooms have a change to spawn better rewards like gold pickups, soul hearts, dimes, nickels, batteries, cards and runes, and other special pickups that you don’t normally find but are POWERFUL when crafting. (Side note: 8 bone hearts is a guaranteed death certificate but I don’t know how DC works as Cain)
Making samsons birthright change the bonus from taking damage from stackable bonus damage to a stackable small damage multiplier or if they're making the bonus damage cap higher they could make the bonus stay between floors

just some ideas for the boring ones: Bethany only loses 1/4th of the deal chance most characters lose upon taking red heart damage, and angel deals have their own version of the number magnet trinket (more choices, an eternal heart in the middle of the room, and 2 angel-based enemies. Keeper has double shops (as in 2 shops every floor), and keeps the full value of coins when they're used to heal. Azazel has what can be considered a reversed redemption, where he gains +1 damage and +1.5 range upon taking a devil deal, along with a chance to gain an extra black heart when taking them. ??? can now pick up rotten hearts as if they were soul hearts (because he is a corpse, after all), and rotten hearts have a significant chance to replace red hearts. Flies spawned by rotten hearts have a chance to apply a random status effect other than burning. Lillith's box of friends now spawns a second, miniature lillith. This lillith essentially has the Giant Cell AI, but instead of shooting on it's own all of the doubled familiars circle it (akin to friendship bracelet), and shoot when it tries to shoot. Magdeline now passively gains 1 red heart back every time she clears a room (e.g. clearing a room, entering a treasure room, that kind of thing.), and eternal hearts only are removed by damage if it would otherwise be fatal. Bethany?'s wisps now shoot tears based on the room they came from. Treasure or Other = base wisp tears, Shop = head of keeper effect, Any secret room = can't shoot tears, but on death trigger lemegeton again, Curse = weaker, but a chance to apply poison on hit, Angel = effect of godhead, Devil = small chance to fire a thin brimstone beam, Boss = double base wisp damage and nothing else, Planetarium = chance to freeze. (Note that this only cares about the room they're from, and nothing else, meaning the item pool of the wisps themselves is irrelevant). The Lost? gains the effect of Damocles, and all cards and pills based around protection or HP (including but not limited to The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Power Pill, and Holy Card) lose their base effect and instead spawn a random non-heart pickup when used by The Lost?. Even more risk, even more reward. Apollyon?'s locusts have a chance to retain what item they came from, meaning that said locust would apply it's own item's tear effect, home, spawn a heart upon killing an enemy, have higher dps output, or block enemy tears depending on the item (from left to right being tear effects, mapping/homing items, health ups/heart generators like yum heart or gimpy, stat ups, and invulnerability like book of shadows/unicorn stump/gnawed leaf.)
i had this idea for azazels birthright where now you can also blow up devil statues to fight The Fallen, and succeeding will give a key piece just like angel rooms
T.cains birthright i would like is you drop an item out of the bag when you go over capacity. more flexibility for crafting and less wasted consumables when making random items.
I have a good idea for a lazarus birthright, the description would be: They weep for you. every enemy in the room when you died would spray tears like a buffed sprinkler (the tears would not hurt you but would hurt the enemy ) and leave creep that deals your damage
Suggestions for potential cool ideas For Sampson, Maybe, Give him Bloody Gust effect, And deal some AOE damage around himself, So he gains Damage, MoveSpeed, and Attack Speed, and an instant hit around itself. PROPER "Rage building" Lilith, Gain a new unique familiar, That flies around kind of like PsyFly, but, Attacks enemies instead of deflecting projectiles, Dealing damage based on your DMG. T'Magdline, HP Drains slower, and Gains additional damage while draining. Bethany, just, make it affect all battery instead of only Soul Battery, And make the wisps tougher, Properly "Conserving" her faith, in a litteral way of making the faith stronger BlueBaby, Give him increased chance for Soul Heart drops, And give him boosts on picking them up, (Temporary or Permanant upto you), T-Apolyon, Gains new synergies for flies depending on what passives you absorb! Absorb a damage upgrade? Make flies larger and more powerful., Get a tear modifier? Somehow give that to the flies. Tears up? You can re-throw flies faster. Get Brimstone? Flies now have a kind of Azazel beam infront for a while. Homing? Self explained. Godhead? Self explained. Technology? Now they have a bit of a beam behind them towards you. Ipecac? Gains an explosion on hit aswell. Chocolate Milk? You can now charge flies before throwing them dealing extra damage and becoming larger. Do ya like these suggestions?
Samson in Wrath of the Lamb started with "Lusty Blood" (even tho it was named Bloody List back then, but had effects as Lusty Blood) so giving him the effects of Lusty Blood would make perfect sense. Lusty Blood that also have a chance to activate Bloody Lust when killing enemy? Or maybe increasing damage cap from Bloody Lust, and spawning mean beggar at the start of every floor
25:30 Idea: maybe instead of giving 3 copies of items, Jacob and Esau could have the multiplayer item pedestal, where one picks up the item and another item spawns for the second brother. That way they both get an item but it’s slightly less OP than the Damocles effect of double pedestals. Another idea would be to just give each brother 3 copies of the others item, at least that way both brothers get something. For Tainted Jacob and Esau, I love their horrible birthright. The original description was “It isn’t yours.” It’s perfectly thematic for the characters and their biblical tale. In the Bible, Jacob steals Esau’s birthright(that’s why they unlock that item in game) and Esau leaves but seeks to take vengeance one day(just like T. Esau). In Isaac and in the Bible, The birthright belongs to Esau, hence why it spawns a second one(which I call Jacob).
9:25 Yeah I think for Eve, her birthright should either be “any item that activates on damage or having low HP is always active.” So it’s more than just dead bird and WOB. For example, every other damage based familiar like revenge fly would activate all the time, and every damage based effect like Bloody Lust would activate once at the start of a room(so every room gets 1 Samson hit and if you had Gimpy it would give you one CHANCE of spawning a soul heart as if you took damage. This also means varicose veins would just activate as soon as you enter a room with enemies). Only problem would be the intruder would always be jumping around no matter what. The only other alternate idea I can think of is “all damage based effects are doubled.” Like a car battery for Eve. Example: damage familiars either spawn two of them or deal double the DPS they normally would, Bloody Lust would have twice the damage up and twice the damage cap, and varicose veins would either shoot two rings of tears or one double damage burst(almost sounds like mega tears + Tammy head).
Keeper: *TLC* (Total Lost Coins) Drops all coins lost from taking damage added up onto the ground. When picking up a coin after taking damage, adds 1 coin to your bank instead of not giving a coin, and plays a different sound effect when picking up pennies. ???: *Recursed Farts* Butter bean is smelted when this is picked up. The first enemy killed in a room releases a butter bean fart around itself, Bean items are smelted when picked up, Wait what? is able to be found again, The Poop activates a second time shortly after use.
For samson he could have a combination of lusty blood and red stew where after a certain amount of kills you get a decent damage up that slowly decreases but if you kill a boss or a mini boss before all the temporary damage drains you get a little bit of a permanent damage increase. It would be a bit smaller of a buff if you killed a mini boss. Or you could get a champions belt sort of effect where you get a permanent stats up but you take double damage from enemies then on. Since Samson is a power house that gets more powerful with the more damage he takes he’s essentially glass canon the item
Jacob and Esau(?) should be that you get stuff like "There's options?" and that you are able to get both, but maybe that you get worse drops or the items are pre picked for the brothers, like for example walking in and you see a red glow on the item, meaning only Esau can pick it up
Tainted isaac could get a new permanent card slot item that can store one passive item inside (item does not do anything while stored). This would emphasize his "inventory management" gimmick. It could be used to take items that may be useful later and store them without wasting an inventory slot.
For Jacob and Esau it would've been cool to have like a shared healthbar or something similar. Since one of the problems while playing as them is that if one of them dies the other one dies too.
here are some of my ideas for birthright changes. If a character isnt on here its either because I like their br effect, or because bdLP had a cooler idea. Azazel: swap devil deals and angel deals costs, so he can get devil deals for free. Lazerus: make the dmg up he gets from rezing permanent, and whenever he rezzes, he doesn't lose 1 heart container. Eden: should buff so the items has to be quality 3 or higher. Tainted lost: (CRAZY IDEA) makes floor layouts unique from hereon out in the run, specifically so every non basic room (treasure, shop, arcade, sacrifice, boss, story rooms, secret) are grouped together on one side of the map. On top of that, placing the starting room close to all of those rooms. By doing this, it makes all floors a true choice of speedrun to next floor, or explore for potential pickups. Lillith: (I don't mind her current br, but I feel like there could be some additional stuff.) Make ALL familiars deal contact damage, and when too many familiars are picked up during her current br, make them move further out from lillith, effectively having two(three) walls of familiars. Bethany: Whenever bethany picks up soul hearts, she actually gets them to her health instead of to the active charge. Also gives her a new pocket item that removes 1 soul heart to add it to her charge instead. (this gives her the ability to choose whether to use soul hearts as health or charge) (the pocket item could also become an unlockable item that does the same for other characters) Jacob n esau: EITHER instead of 3 items, just copy all items of each other and paste it onto the other. OR double all non-story special rooms on future floors. That means whenever a special room spawns, creature another one of it somewhere on the floor. Aka two tresure rooms, two shops, two curse rooms, two secret rooms and two ultra secret rooms but also two boss rooms. Tainted mag: Doubles the damage and range of the hug, and makes it inherit tear effects. Not tear changes, like mom's knife etc, but tear effects like holy light. Tainted cain: Instead of more pickups spawning from items, make it so "rare" pickups has a higher chance of replacing normal pickups. I.e bonehearts, black hearts and eternal hearts replace red hearts, golden/mega bombs replace regular bombs, charged/golden keys replace regular keys, and lucky pennies/dimes replace pennies more often. Like a 5% chance of replacing any pickup of the given type. (bdLPs idea of two bags of crafting is also super cool) tainted judas: (this one is hard) possibly make it so every curse room guaranties to have an item in it. or extends the decent time, so you are in the "shadow realm" for longer, while also making it so you can shoot tears in the form, thereby increasing its usability. Tainted blue baby: His poops should drop pickups, and give him two ways to pocket poops. Tainted eve: buff so the hearts dont disappear. Tainted samson: (another boring one like judas) keep the current br effect and make it so whenever he kills an enemy, they do a proper blood explosion, dealing damage to other enemies and fearing them for a few seconds. (hes supposed to be the rage/murder character, so I feel like that would be cool and thematically accurate) Tainted azazel: Make the debuff of his sneeze last indefinitely and also contagious, so whenever an enemy with the debuff touches another enemy, they also get it. Tainted keeper: first off, fools gold has a higher chance of appearing. Secondly, picking it up adds a new type of special room in future floors called a "midas' room". It's an all gold room that can have different things in it. Obviously a bunch of coins, but also with a chance to have a coin beggar, midas' touch, keeper themed items, or a donation machine. Tainted appollyon: this isnt even a br effect. Just please add new flies. That'd be awesome. Tainted bethany: EITHER bdLPs idea of having wisps spawned by lemegeton have a 100% chance to be pulled from the current room instead of the base 25% chance. OR whenever a wisp gets destroyed, there's a 50% chance to drop the item on a pedestal. (that would definitely be fun) What are you guy's ideas and what do you think?
For Tainted Keeper I believe that it would be better for nickels and dimes to act like soul hearts They wouldnt have a higher drop rate, but nickels could be like normal soul hearts and dimes could be like black hearts or golden hearts, where when they break they have different effects
some fixes i’d do: BB: his would be “better poops”, basically, what you said, using “the poop” has a chance to spawn better poops like the golden ones. that or “fly infested” which would give him guppy sans flight tainted azazel: i mean, thematically, it’s gotta be that he gets flight and a full brimstone, possibly with improved damage keeper: i think something to do with wooden nickel would work. either a) make it spawn a penny 100% of the time or b) make it spawn a nickel instead of a penny i might edit and add to this later but these were the two i thought of
One thing I could see working on Eve would be giving her half a black heart when she enters the babylon state. Not only does it make her keeping red health and razor super powerful as you can basically convert red hearts into half black hearts if played correctly, but also protects you if you happen to JUST have red health. It makes you approach the character more differently than "go devil deal, lose red health" while still giving her a noticeable buff
Since I already have this comment up, I could also add to samson a little, you could have something like "all-consuming rage" where he gets permanent stat ups from damage. Basically just small bonuses like candy heart or keeper's sack that can easily rack up along the entire game
Aaand once more for azazel (yes I am doing this while watching the vid simultaneously) birthright: still a child: one half of azazel resembles isaacs face, and he is able to shoot tears while charging brimstone, similar to revelation
Bethany: virtuous blood If bethany's health is full, she can collect red hearts for soul charges like T.Beth does, like with other characters she taps into what the tainted character does which isn't a perfect fit per se lore-wise but I think the description "virtuous blood" justifies it very well. On top of that it rewards good play with her as a pure red heart character and buffs her main gimmick
Jacob & Esau: sharing is caring By holding the drop button, they additionally drop their first collected item but can only be done once per room to prevent mass item dropping in the same room. That can help you mix and match the items between the two to actually make them balanced and maybe even help you sort out some garbage items you picked up.
My tainted Isaac idea: birthright makes you drop all of your items and it cycles between another item. T blue baby: his poops get his item effects T laz: he gains a familiar which is a small version of the flip he is not playing as. T Apollyon: his flies attack like the flies that steal your charge, they don’t have to be shot to activate (it gives him his chaotic playing style) T Eden: getting hit applies d10 and d12 and gives you a larger window for stats to drastically change T keeper: shops appear on every stage, money gives you sfading stat ups Keeper: makes his wooden nickel always drop a penny and has a chance to drop two coins T Samson: gives his berserk better stats and a 3 second kills,
I think that a few of the characters could've benefited from active slot Birthrights. Like imagine if instead of 4 extra permanent slots, Tainted Isaac's birthright was a one-time-use active that gulped the current 8 items he has on him. Holding it like a Forget-me-now or Diplopia if you get it before you're 100% set, or using it right when you get it to free up the slot maybe. Give regular Isaac unlimited held item room so he's no longer burdened by constantly rolling items into active items. Isaac is the game break character, and I think having basically an infinite schoolbag would be fittingly nuts. That or maybe just the ability to pick up any and all dice actives he sees (D20, D6, Dinfin, D100, ect.). Or just give him a special Q slot active Fixed D6 that lets you Un-reroll items. Tainted Lost, give him immunity to self-harm deaths. Play sacrifice rooms, kill yourself on mimics, enter curse rooms, plan-C whatever is giving you trouble, or just use some Suicide King plays. He's the dead character, your benefits shouldn't be anything that makes you more survivable, they should make you able to dig even deeper for more wins. I'd also make Sampson's birthright make all enemies elite but make them all drop their elite loot even in hard mode. Man is the take a big hit and give it out just as hard character, his birthright should be like taking a hit to hit even harder. Gimmie all those consumables, and give me all the big fights! Beth I'd say if you don't give isaac the bottomless backpack, give her the ability to save all actives she picks up in her book of virtues. Since she's not as break-heavy as Isaac is, I'd say balance it out by making all actives share their charges like the Dinfinity, but give a wisp for every active you've taken. Wisp Queen. Maybe if it needs coralled in even more, I could see soul heart uses being the only thing that can be used to do so. Azazel I think should get a damage aura similar to incubus. He already has to sit ontop of the enemies sometimes, so I could see it being useful.

I disagree about Lilith’s Birthright, her Birthright is meant to continue encouraging her to collect familiars. It turns Dry Baby and Farting Baby into Trinity Shield and it makes all your shooting familiars accurate and a huge DPS increase. I think it’s very creative and fun

I have to disagree on the Azazel one. Mostly because of the sound Birthright Azazel's brimstone makes. I know it doesn't have any real mechanical upside but the unique sound makes it feel SO GOOD.
Also, if you get Azazel's Birthright, and 2 copies of Brimstone, the resulting beam is as big as a full Mega Blast, and you have it permanently.
Also, T. Lost's Birthright should be making all Holy Cards replaced by Quality 3-4 Items. The point of the character is "Better Items, No Mantle", give it THE BEST items and NO mantle.

Hearing you speak of Azazel as being the Devil Deal character got me thinking that maybe his Birthright can be the reverse of "The Stairway" item, making it so that he gets a special Devil Deal or Black Market room at the beginning of each floor, with unique trade-offs, such as getting a curse on the floor for an item or getting x number of broken hearts.

The thing with T. Bethany's Birthright is that they're ALWAYS 2 tier 3s and 2 tier 4s. The chance of getting Polyphemus, Magic Mushroom, Twisted Pair, or other run changing items is enormous considering how little passive tier 4s there are in comparison to other items.
For tainted Cain, I think it would be fun if it instead of adding a second bag of crafting it gave you the bag of holding to store pickups for later, making you able to complete your current crafting recipe and have more pickups ready for you when you finish it

I would suggest for the Keeper to get a "refund" on all the consumables he gets on a run. I think it would be a HELL of a lot better than a HP upgrade, and give you more of an incentive to use Runes / Pills / Cards during a run.

@@YellowSnow Well, the thing with this is that this is tacked on with ALL the other effects mentioned earlier. So having it be more would be a bit more OP then one would lead you to believe.
For Eve I could see a cool change being: when Dead Bird is activated, 7 birds are spawned instead of just 1. Seven Sins for the Original Sin. Or she could gain creep and flight when in her curse state. Either way there is some damage or utility which to me warrants buying birthright. Cause its not just finding birthright. You gotta buy it, its kinda rare (not fully but you don't see it every run), and you might need to choose between it and some other solid shop item.
As for Lilith, we could do the Apollyon shtick where her built in active gains a cool benefit. I can see a cool idea being every activation of Box of Friends giving her a chance to permanently get a new familiar. She already has Cambion Conception as well so maybe giving her extra uses from that could work like Samson's. Its not super creative either way but its more fun then familiar in front of you. One way encourages you to use your active more often and one encourages a willingness to take more risks. And both ways fit into the 'mother of monsters' idea

Urn of Souls also shifts from a flamethrower to a sustained brimstone beam, how to jump doesn't increase damage but it hurts enemies on contact, guppy's paw gives permanent damage per every heart container converted, etc.
They *really* thought this out.
tainted azazel's birthright is great, he can consistently sneeze in a large area and inflict the brimstone curse to bosses or later enemies
I know this is way late in the games cycle but a few ideas:
Eve: Bird is always active. When it attacks it gets a visual blood effect. After attacking for 5 seconds, the blood drawn from the enemy is transferred to Eve, buffing WoB. After another 10 seconds, the bird itself gets buffed, allowing it to shoot brimstone beams.
Bethany: Gains wings that give flight. At the entrance of each level, there’s a ladder that leads to an angel room, similar to stairway. You can buy these items with soul charges or wisps only.
Azazel: Chain brim. Hitting an enemy with brimstone channels the brimstone through the enemy, which then seeks out another enemy. If there are no other enemies, the Brimstone overcharge flows out of the enemy and pools next to them, creating a Brimstone mine that the enemy can step on (mostly useful for boss fights)
Blue Baby: An arm and… another arm. Blue baby’s arms fall off and are combined via poop into a humanoid monster. This new monstrosity can fling poop at enemies with random effects like tainted blue baby. However, the monster is constantly suffocating and “dies” every minute or so. Blue Baby’s arms perform CPR to resuscitate the monster, which takes 15 seconds. When the monster is back, it begins with a big poop explosion before going back to slinging poop
Lilith: Fuses all following familiars into one. New familiar visually resembles incubus fused with succubus. Also gains succubus damage / buff field (stacks with succubus if you have that too). Box of friends spawns another of this creature, but it tracks enemies down itself in an automated fashion
Tainted Isaac: Gives a buff similar to the gunslinger from EtG. Isaac’s items gain 1 random synergy. Synergies reset each floor
Tainted Judas: Enemies are temporarily frozen after dark arts. Damage done to enemies as a back attack is doubled for Tainted Judas all the time now, but tripled against enemies in this state. Enemies become more resistant to stun effect after being hit too many times in a short duration
Tainted Lost: Killed enemies spawn ghosts that attack other enemies. If the lost gets killed on a screen with a ghost on it, it instead consumes all ghosts in the room to remain alive, granting a holy mantle’s length of I frames after ghosts have been consumed. A timer begins overhead in which tainted lost must defeat all enemies in the room. Killed enemies add to the timer via consuming their souls. Any hit in this stage will kill Tainted Lost as usual
Tainted Apollyon: Flies no longer shoot out in front of you and now either follow the cursor or are controlled by analog stick. Apollyon automatically shoots tears at the swarm. If the tear connects with the swarm, a special effect happens (flies catch on fire, flies freeze enemy, ect). Abyss gains a secondary feature that allows it to gradually charge inside a room. When charged, activating it puts flies into a defense formation around Apollyon that lasts a second or so. Abyss still has a separate charge for consuming items still.
Tainted Azelal: Sneeze shoots out small blood snot bubbles that move a short distance before bursting. Bubbles do little damage but add brimstone curse to enemies. If enemy already has brimstone curse, bubbles have a small radius explosion upon impact that deals decent damage and prolongs brimstone curse. Regular thin brimstone can be extended in length a few frames by tapping the attack button at the end while simultaneously sneezing / shooting all blood snot bubbles, as a reference to Brimsnap from flash Isaac
For lilith an idea that fits the character but will definitely be op, all her familiars inherent her tear effects. They don't copy her tears like incubus but effectively get her items so a lil'brim when lilith picks up tech would have the tech laser wrapping around the beam.
The problem with Apollyon’s effect is that if you drop/don't have Void, it's straight up useless. I don’t know what else they could have done for him, but they should have changed the character, not his item.
Edit: And I'm pretty sure Apollyon is the only one with this problem, the Tainted characters can't drop their items (they are in the Q slot), Judas gets a copy of the Book of Belial if he doesn't already have it, and (I think) none of the other regular characters have a Birthright effect that impact their spacebar item.
Yeah, he has probably the worst BRs for both sides
Thing is, why would you ever drop Void? (Although I could see a patch where Birthright grants Void to Apollyon if he dropped it)

Why would you drop Void though? Just Void whatever you dropped it for? Unless maybe you're in a Devil/Angel room and find an amazing active while having no Void charge, but at that point do you even need Birthright?

Liliths birthright makes it so that all her familiars have a formation when youre firing, not just having them fire in front of you, using box of friends her familiars shoot beside her as well, giving huge aoe, like youd usually want to try and do in greed when playing as her
Imo bethany's birthright should give book of virtues like 10% chance to spawn a lemegeton wisps
That seems a bit too inconsistent for an item that's supposed to be pretty good. I think it should just make her wisps have twice the size and health.

Here's an idea for Lazarus: "Eternal". As long as you have red heart containers, you can keep respawning by sacrificing one, with all the cummulative effects of Lazarus Risen. Of course, once you die with a single red heart container you're gone for good.
Besides this, just to ensure it CANNOT be detrimental, it should also bring your heart containers to three if theyre below. And if we're feeling REALLY feisty, you could even make it so that he always has at least two heart containers on floor start.

Azazel birthright is actually pretty cool you have to remember that hes already starts with a Form a brimstone and flight hes a strong character so having now your attacked take up like a quarter of the screen on top of whatever else you get in that run can make it crazy my 1st run with it I had parasite this huge beam just ate everything in the room

What if Blue Baby's birthright was called like, I dunno, Festering Body or around that where he gets dead themed enemys in a room charmed or something along the lines of him being suffocated, or just straight up being a dead body.
Azazel's birth right imo should be the wide beam as normal, with an additional uncapped speed increase when the beam is firing, and a moment of invincibility at the moment you fire.
Tainted Jacob is really cool because it has to do with the Bible story. The little header for T Jacob's birthright is "it's not yours" because in the story of Jacob and Esau, Jacob tricks their father, Isaac, into giving him Esau's birthright.
Tainted Apollyon's is probably the most powerful one, it is actually just absurd.

Lost birthright should spawn a spotlight that lets him ascend to the previous floor, new item rooms and all. Goes with the character in terms of Isaac flashing through all his memories and his soul going to heaven

So i know you are not the biggest tainted forgotten fan but as a fan of t forgotten, it's birthright is easily the most fun i had in the entire game.
Fights like Hush can be boring with T forgotten because you kinda just throw the skeleton body once and that's it. So with the birthright you dont remove from the gameplay but instead compliment it.
Also, for Azazel and T Azazel the birthright isn't that amazing but is cool looking and fun. That also goes for Lilith birthright too, but i see your point that kinda removes the gameplay aspect of lilith.
Regarding Lilith, birthrights are supposed to compliment the weak points of the character. Lilith's weakness is accuracy. Lilith's birthright fixes that. You can argue stuff like Azazel's not complimenting his downside (lack of range, not width) but T Azazel makes the sneeze more viable and helps with the sneeze's short range.
Tldr birthrights supplement weak points, not necessarily great in any way

I got Ipecac first floor and immediately was like "I know what I must do" - I blitzed through the game so fast I beat boss rush _and_ got to Hush's floor by the time boss rush would've closed
Keeper : hp up plus something interesting/passive, like the greed thing you said, or maybe he reanimates the dead beggars, and makes them unique helping enemies? I think that would be fun, and maybe those beggars give you what they would’ve given bombed? I just like the idea of a beggar gang
i think tainted forgotten's birthright is actually pretty perfect. maybe if the item didnt have as much of a cool down if one at all it would be absolutely amazing but its still great. usually you have to plan aroubd throwing the bones and then navigating to pick him back up but with recall you just have to throw him and then call him back which does do basically double throw damage since it hits again on the way back
Not sure if you knew, but tainted apollyon is still unfinished. Abyss is supposed to have unique flies for over 500 items.
The Keeper birth right effect should let him get a “Buy one get one free mechanic” where he alternates between having to buy an item first then the next is free. I want to love the Keeper character but the thing holding him back is the health cap of 3. I honestly think that Keeper should be able to get health upgrades and cap out at the standard 12
I feel like 12 is a bit much for someone like Keeper, I think he's fine with his 3 coin health, especially considering he can start with Wooden Nickel
@@SammySinner6 I really love the Keeper but I think the thing that bothers me more about the 3 coin heart cap is the fact that it feels like you can never let go of wooden nickel. For me it’s like you have to take a massive risk to take any active item unless you have schoolbag, and I hate not being able to experience the active item part of the game with this character. Even if he could cap out at 6 coin hearts, I would feel more confident about letting wooden nickel go knowing I can get to 6 hearts. Plus keep in mind that he always takes full heart damage so even if he was capped at 6, it’s still not the standard 6 red hearts that can take 12 hits on floors before the womb.

for Tainted Eden I think along side with the Sacred Orb effect you suggested, HP ups T Eden got earlier should be rerolled only into other HP ups because if you have a weird run without much fixed health it can just kill you

For eve's birthright, I have 2 options to change it. Both doesn't touch the dead bird part.
First is HoB's damage multiplier for eve when it's active goes up every time you use razor blade for the floor, by 0.05.
2nd is slightly more mundane, it's HoB activation threshold becomes 2 hearts, and Razor Blade goes into her pill slot like a starting item for tainted characters.

Azazel's birthright is underrated imo. Yes it does sound lame, i think it was too when i read about it. But when you you use it in game, especially in early floors, it helps a lot. You can mindlessly aim to a general direction and decimate agile enemies easily. Plus, as another person has also mentioned, the sound is so satisfying
I think a cool idea for Tainted Maggy would be a buff for her deadly hug - what if whenever you killed an enemy with a hug, they burst into gore like when Samson goes berserk and does a bit of damage to nearby enemies, like you're hugging the enemy so hard they explode?

Bethany's could be that she could challenge the angel statue and if she kills them, she could take every angel item in that room instead of just one
Tainted Apollyon's is straight-up fantastic.
Tainted Apollyon actually does get special Wisps from Abyssing different Items... but there's only a handful and they're for No. 1... and Brimstone... and other Items you'd never Abyss.

@@bd1pLP spoon bender and other items that give you homing make wisps homing too which is very worth it. I don't remember what the other effects are because I don't play him very often but maybe they could be worth it as well?
@@TopOfAllWorlds yeah some definietley would be worth it, problem is there's really nothing in game that shows yu "hey, these flies are homing!", some kind of color distincition or things that like to not only make the character more viually appealing but also overall just a more fun character to play. For example, if on my first run I suck up spoon bender on the chest, and I dont notice anything has changed, I'm not going to do it on subsequent runs, because i dont think it does anything

that’s less of an item and more of her literal character that she cannot function without, incomparable to D6 or him heart
Here’s some of my takes for what you mentioned.
Isaac: His main idea revolves around rerolling and the D6 so his ability to flip between two is reasonable
Maggie: Perfect BR, but maybe also add Hp ups give 2 containers and hearts heal double
Cain: I like the arcade idea a lot, but if I had to switch, make it so you can steal one item in the shop and that there’s a shop on every floor. He’s based on the RPG thief class, so I feel it makes sense to steal something. (Also maybe a chance for the shopkeeper to turn into greed if an item is stolen)
Judas: The perfect BR
???: (stealing from a mod) Keep the HP up, but also make it so when he touches any hearts that don’t work for him (bone hearts, rotten hearts, red hearts) and tun them into dips
Eve: I really like her idea, but just in case add it to have two or three dead birds to match with the ability her soul gives
Samson: Since biblically he is the strongest, maybe a permanent dmg upgrade and his lust gives more damage at once instead of more damage over time
Azazel: I like the idea of a wider brim since he’s trying to be like Mega Satan, but just give him also a decent range upgrade to allow for more chaos
Laz: I personally don’t like this one since if forces you to just go as alt laz. I’d try something that both can benefit from. Maybe give him a small all stats that grows as he dies so you start okay on the first one, then become risen and more stats. Die with soul of Laz and even more stats to play on his idea of revival
Eden: keeping the spawning the 3 items from random pools, but let’s crank it to 11. Keep the 3 items, but when they spawn they’re in the a glitched crown state so it’s even more of a rng gamble. In terms of a long term effect, whenever a new item spawns another pedestal shows up that has an item from a random pool and you pick which to take.
Lost: a great effect that doesn’t need changes since it removes anything he can’t work with
Lilith: reduce the cap that cambion conception has so it doesn’t stop at 4 and double the amount of familiars Lilith currently has
Keeper: shops are on all floors and every shot hit on an enemy has a 1/15 chance of spawning a coin
Apollyon: perfect
Forgotten: perfect
Bethany: Book of virtues spawns double the whisps and they have more health than normal (her faith protects her)
Jacob & Esau: I think the sharing is fair since they’re brothers. It it’s to be a wow, make it so it’s shared all previously obtained items each one got
The Broken: I like the increased space so it’s more to work with. However for a different one, I’d rather have the ability for dropped items to be flipping between two choices as if it was the first time seen
The Dauntless: make her hugs do x9 and turn all hearts from half to full. (As a bonus make it so she doesn’t bleed in rooms with no enemies, but might be too broken)
The Hoarder: original ability is good, but also add that it increased pick up drop chance and pick up quality
The Deceiver: just make it actually work and it’s not bad
The Soiled: Add some rare poops to the pool like gold poop that gives the Midas touch effect to enemies that touch it. Also the rare giant poop that can work like a chaos card crushing someone in such a giant poop
The Curdled: decent original effect. However, I’d like it if it flips on the Sumptorium version Whore of Babylon without the specific triggers of no clots and at half a heart
The Savage: just put him in the rage mode permanently imo
The Benighted: I like bigger sneeze, but I also agree on making it have more knock back and knock back damage.
The Enigma: beautiful ability. No changes needed. Except maybe making it easier to see the shadow Lazarus’ tears
The Capricious: The lock effect is great for its playability and I like it. If we want thematic, then make it so each item has a 10% chance to reroll into a glitch TMTRAINER item to fit with the randomness theme
The Baleful: the 1-up is incredible since it only 1 of 4 instances he can get a 1-up (Laz soul, missing poster, inner child if beast run) so I respect it as is. In terms of unique, make his item pool even better to make it limited to items that quality 2 and up only.
The Harlot: keep as its, but make it tagged with adoption papers to allow for familiars to be gotten much more easily
The Miser: keep the magnet for coins, but also give his special coin tears that Ultra Greed has (also slap on the hp up that keeper got)
The Empty: Great effect. No change needed
The Fettered: Great ability, no change needed
The Zealot: similar to Bethany with stronger wisps, but adding the chance for a second wisp to spawn when used
The Deserter: Lol. Keep what it is currently. However, do give Jacob a holy mantle in his lost for so it’s a buff to the entire character and not just Dark Esau

Tainted Jacob has 2 deadly weapons chasing him. You can se show that can be used to your advantage.
Your idea of Tainted Blue Baby scaring enemies when he enters a room, making them shit themself and dropping tiny poops is really good.
for tainted cain perhaps it could be that when you replace an item in the bag of crafting menu it has a chance to drop it back on the floor
I disagree with some of these but Tainted Forgotten is the biggest one. T. Forgotten is played in three parts: you drop the body, you attack while you dodge, and then wait for a chance to retrieve it. Recall completely flips that and it becomes a more dynamic character overall, you throw it and maybe you recall for the extra whip damage, or you move across the room and get it back, one of the best birthrights in the game
I think for T. Forgotten they sould make a tear chain inbetween the skeleton and the soul so you can run around doing damage with you chain, and for Samson they should give him a stand like thing for example somthing like T. Josuke in the JoJo mod.
Idea for Samson: you keep a portion of bloody lost at the end of the floor
Lusty Blood effect maybe. For people who don’t like taking damage.

I also love T. Jacob's birthright description being "It's not yours" and benefiting Esau instead. Just such a fun twist on what the player might be expecting.
Imagine if tainted lost’s birthright gave him a weaker “restored” version of holy mantle that flickers on and off at random; stacks on top of holy card, and only works in rooms you haven’t been hit in before, maybe it can even burst open and disperse projectiles when it breaks, like the telekinesis effect
I think lilith's birthright should give her a 6 charge pocket active that unblindfolds her for 1 room, and jacob's birthright should give him a second esau.

hi, like a year late, I think that (not taking into account balancing) replacing blue baby's flies with abyss flies that last for a floor/few rooms might be cool. Granted idk anything about if that would be balanced or not and it would kinda just be stealing t apollyon's thing. Maybe you get a small chance to drop pedestal items from the room's pool from poops?
This guy wants birthright to be the best item in the game.
a cool thing that could work for Tainted Keeper, could be;
Every coin you pickup, gives a 1 second (or maybe half a second) extra HP (Coin Health).
If the 1 - 0.5 Second timer runs out, you just keep the coin join earned from picking it up.
If you get hit within that 1 - 0.5 Second window the temporary coin HP is up, you lose the coin, but only lose the Temporary Coin (and of course doesn't affect Devil Deal, tho i believe it doesn't normally as well?)
Would probably have to cap it at either 6 or 12 (not to just somehow get 50 coins and stand there with 50 HP)
I hope this made sense, and honestly thought it would maybe be a funny idea, to still use the health mechanic

@@PancakemonsterFO4 I think it’s better to give them a co op experience rather than just starting them with an item. They really aren’t that bad and can be very very fun characters to play. Too big of a buff will make them OP however, so it’s better to give them a small tweak. The best thing would be if devs could remove a few of the rooms that make it virtually impossible for them to not get hit, just remove these rooms for Jacob and Esau. Spiked rooms with stone turrets or stone pullers are the worst.

the wisps spawned by tainted bethany are 2 guaranteed tier 3 and 2 guaranteed tier 4. that for me should get at least an "ok" tier for me

My thought for a lilith birthright: She spawns a new, random familiar at the start of every floor after taking the item. It’s a really strong, thematically appropriate effect, and it makes box of friends exponentially more effective

I think he didnt get at all the Lilith birthright, ALL the familiars go in the formation, like, it really fits the character and make any familiar a WAY more powerfull dps upgrade, its like, she is the mother of demons (cambion conception bru), she now really use the babys :>

For T Eden you could give a 6 or 12 room recharge pocket active that rerolls all of his items (except the special items birthright, key pieces, etc) like a controlled reroll
Lilith's unique mechanic is that other familiars also get put in front. It's like a mix between duct tape and rc remote.

An idea I had for Jacob and Esac is “Shared Destiny” if Jacob or Esac pick up an item from that point on, their brother gets a random item from that same pool. For instants, if you have Jacob pick up a Devil deal item like brimstone, Esac gets mom’s knife. Esac picks up god head, and Jacob gets sacred heart.
This plays up the aspect of two different characters and has a way for them to “Share Items”
I think tainted Judas would be cool if he could mark Enemies for extra damage like tainted Azazels sneeze
I think for Lilith it would be cool to have her spawn a random demon familiar instead of the permanent incubus that shoots a few times and then leaves and another one does the same thing
Also maybe make so that the permanent versions of the demon familiars receives a buff like:
Twisted pair deals 100% of your damage
Succubus has a bigger aura
Rotten Baby spawns more flies (if I'm correct and that's what he does)
For Blue Baby's Birthright, there is one synergy I've seen that takes advantage of it very well. This being it combined with Binge Eating. Since you can get HP ups from EVERY item pedestal, you can get almost infinite health. Combine that with various on hit items, and you can do big damage.
Idea for T.Isaac: every item's second choice is pulled from a random item pool.

makes him a lot stronger but that random item pool tuing is super smart

Azazel is a fallen angel so even though it's a demon now it's birthday would be about it's angelic time imo so I think it's birthright should be something like" angel up + more deals" and you can take multiple angel items with health deals like devil deals
I think a good Lilith birth right change can be making her incubuses more aggresive. The closer you are to the enemy. The more damage and fire rate you get.
Or maybe just make the be able to react the actives and card usage. Even pills can effect them too maybe.
T. Bethany's high HP wisps are all quality 4 items (maybe 3 and 4, I don't know), so usually it gives really good items. Still, I get that you could just use it 4 times and have similar results with less wisp HP.
30:25 I think T.Cain gets more special pickups from items too. Like birthright causes secret pedestals to spawn 2 bone hearts instead of 1. His birthright is very powerful in special rooms like deal rooms and secret rooms for that reason, but in treasure and shops I think it sucks because I don’t think those pools have any special guaranteed pickups when you grab an item in there.
Maybe his birthright should just highly increase the chance of high quality pickups spawning at any time in any room for any reason. For example, angel rooms have a higher chance to have eternal hearts, regular rooms have a change to spawn better rewards like gold pickups, soul hearts, dimes, nickels, batteries, cards and runes, and other special pickups that you don’t normally find but are POWERFUL when crafting.

Making samsons birthright change the bonus from taking damage from stackable bonus damage to a stackable small damage multiplier or if they're making the bonus damage cap higher they could make the bonus stay between floors
For reg Samson I’d had thought of something called “manifest rage” you would turn into a list with beserk active for a bit while all enemies are slowed massively
just some ideas for the boring ones:
Bethany only loses 1/4th of the deal chance most characters lose upon taking red heart damage, and angel deals have their own version of the number magnet trinket (more choices, an eternal heart in the middle of the room, and 2 angel-based enemies.
Keeper has double shops (as in 2 shops every floor), and keeps the full value of coins when they're used to heal.
Azazel has what can be considered a reversed redemption, where he gains +1 damage and +1.5 range upon taking a devil deal, along with a chance to gain an extra black heart when taking them.
??? can now pick up rotten hearts as if they were soul hearts (because he is a corpse, after all), and rotten hearts have a significant chance to replace red hearts. Flies spawned by rotten hearts have a chance to apply a random status effect other than burning.
Lillith's box of friends now spawns a second, miniature lillith. This lillith essentially has the Giant Cell AI, but instead of shooting on it's own all of the doubled familiars circle it (akin to friendship bracelet), and shoot when it tries to shoot.
Magdeline now passively gains 1 red heart back every time she clears a room (e.g. clearing a room, entering a treasure room, that kind of thing.), and eternal hearts only are removed by damage if it would otherwise be fatal.
Bethany?'s wisps now shoot tears based on the room they came from. Treasure or Other = base wisp tears, Shop = head of keeper effect, Any secret room = can't shoot tears, but on death trigger lemegeton again, Curse = weaker, but a chance to apply poison on hit, Angel = effect of godhead, Devil = small chance to fire a thin brimstone beam, Boss = double base wisp damage and nothing else, Planetarium = chance to freeze. (Note that this only cares about the room they're from, and nothing else, meaning the item pool of the wisps themselves is irrelevant).
The Lost? gains the effect of Damocles, and all cards and pills based around protection or HP (including but not limited to The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Power Pill, and Holy Card) lose their base effect and instead spawn a random non-heart pickup when used by The Lost?. Even more risk, even more reward.
Apollyon?'s locusts have a chance to retain what item they came from, meaning that said locust would apply it's own item's tear effect, home, spawn a heart upon killing an enemy, have higher dps output, or block enemy tears depending on the item (from left to right being tear effects, mapping/homing items, health ups/heart generators like yum heart or gimpy, stat ups, and invulnerability like book of shadows/unicorn stump/gnawed leaf.)
i had this idea for azazels birthright where now you can also blow up devil statues to fight The Fallen, and succeeding will give a key piece just like angel rooms
What if t isaac had a nerfed sacred orb, and more options. Making every item have more value than before.
T.cains birthright i would like is you drop an item out of the bag when you go over capacity. more flexibility for crafting and less wasted consumables when making random items.
I have a good idea for a lazarus birthright,
the description would be: They weep for you.
every enemy in the room when you died would spray tears like a buffed sprinkler (the tears would not hurt you but would hurt the enemy )
and leave creep that deals your damage
Suggestions for potential cool ideas
For Sampson, Maybe, Give him Bloody Gust effect, And deal some AOE damage around himself,
So he gains Damage, MoveSpeed, and Attack Speed, and an instant hit around itself. PROPER "Rage building"
Lilith, Gain a new unique familiar, That flies around kind of like PsyFly, but, Attacks enemies instead of deflecting projectiles, Dealing damage based on your DMG.
T'Magdline, HP Drains slower, and Gains additional damage while draining.
Bethany, just, make it affect all battery instead of only Soul Battery, And make the wisps tougher, Properly "Conserving" her faith, in a litteral way of making the faith stronger
BlueBaby, Give him increased chance for Soul Heart drops, And give him boosts on picking them up, (Temporary or Permanant upto you),
T-Apolyon, Gains new synergies for flies depending on what passives you absorb! Absorb a damage upgrade? Make flies larger and more powerful., Get a tear modifier? Somehow give that to the flies. Tears up? You can re-throw flies faster. Get Brimstone? Flies now have a kind of Azazel beam infront for a while. Homing? Self explained. Godhead? Self explained. Technology? Now they have a bit of a beam behind them towards you. Ipecac? Gains an explosion on hit aswell. Chocolate Milk? You can now charge flies before throwing them dealing extra damage and becoming larger.
Do ya like these suggestions?
I like tainted Jacobs. Gives you two room clear attacks. Plus the trick to stop them from attacking you still works even with two of them.

Samson in Wrath of the Lamb started with "Lusty Blood" (even tho it was named Bloody List back then, but had effects as Lusty Blood) so giving him the effects of Lusty Blood would make perfect sense. Lusty Blood that also have a chance to activate Bloody Lust when killing enemy?
Or maybe increasing damage cap from Bloody Lust, and spawning mean beggar at the start of every floor
25:30 Idea: maybe instead of giving 3 copies of items, Jacob and Esau could have the multiplayer item pedestal, where one picks up the item and another item spawns for the second brother. That way they both get an item but it’s slightly less OP than the Damocles effect of double pedestals.
Another idea would be to just give each brother 3 copies of the others item, at least that way both brothers get something.
For Tainted Jacob and Esau, I love their horrible birthright. The original description was “It isn’t yours.” It’s perfectly thematic for the characters and their biblical tale. In the Bible, Jacob steals Esau’s birthright(that’s why they unlock that item in game) and Esau leaves but seeks to take vengeance one day(just like T. Esau).
In Isaac and in the Bible, The birthright belongs to Esau, hence why it spawns a second one(which I call Jacob).
9:25 Yeah I think for Eve, her birthright should either be “any item that activates on damage or having low HP is always active.” So it’s more than just dead bird and WOB. For example, every other damage based familiar like revenge fly would activate all the time, and every damage based effect like Bloody Lust would activate once at the start of a room(so every room gets 1 Samson hit and if you had Gimpy it would give you one CHANCE of spawning a soul heart as if you took damage. This also means varicose veins would just activate as soon as you enter a room with enemies). Only problem would be the intruder would always be jumping around no matter what.
The only other alternate idea I can think of is “all damage based effects are doubled.” Like a car battery for Eve. Example: damage familiars either spawn two of them or deal double the DPS they normally would, Bloody Lust would have twice the damage up and twice the damage cap, and varicose veins would either shoot two rings of tears or one double damage burst(almost sounds like mega tears + Tammy head).

For samson he could have a combination of lusty blood and red stew where after a certain amount of kills you get a decent damage up that slowly decreases but if you kill a boss or a mini boss before all the temporary damage drains you get a little bit of a permanent damage increase. It would be a bit smaller of a buff if you killed a mini boss. Or you could get a champions belt sort of effect where you get a permanent stats up but you take double damage from enemies then on. Since Samson is a power house that gets more powerful with the more damage he takes he’s essentially glass canon the item
Jacob and Esau(?) should be that you get stuff like "There's options?" and that you are able to get both, but maybe that you get worse drops or the items are pre picked for the brothers, like for example walking in and you see a red glow on the item, meaning only Esau can pick it up
I think, Lilith birthright is ok if you have more familiars. Dry baby for example.
Idea for T.Isaac: The dropped items keep their original cycle of items.
Tainted isaac could get a new permanent card slot item that can store one passive item inside (item does not do anything while stored). This would emphasize his "inventory management" gimmick. It could be used to take items that may be useful later and store them without wasting an inventory slot.
That suggestion for both Losts is just what Mercurius does...
For Jacob and Esau it would've been cool to have like a shared healthbar or something similar. Since one of the problems while playing as them is that if one of them dies the other one dies too.
here are some of my ideas for birthright changes.
If a character isnt on here its either because I like their br effect, or because bdLP had a cooler idea.
Azazel:
swap devil deals and angel deals costs, so he can get devil deals for free.
Lazerus:
make the dmg up he gets from rezing permanent, and whenever he rezzes, he doesn't lose 1 heart container.
Eden:
should buff so the items has to be quality 3 or higher.
Tainted lost:
(CRAZY IDEA) makes floor layouts unique from hereon out in the run, specifically so every non basic room (treasure, shop, arcade, sacrifice, boss, story rooms, secret) are grouped together on one side of the map. On top of that, placing the starting room close to all of those rooms.
By doing this, it makes all floors a true choice of speedrun to next floor, or explore for potential pickups.
Lillith:
(I don't mind her current br, but I feel like there could be some additional stuff.)
Make ALL familiars deal contact damage, and when too many familiars are picked up during her current br, make them move further out from lillith, effectively having two(three) walls of familiars.
Bethany:
Whenever bethany picks up soul hearts, she actually gets them to her health instead of to the active charge.
Also gives her a new pocket item that removes 1 soul heart to add it to her charge instead.
(this gives her the ability to choose whether to use soul hearts as health or charge)
(the pocket item could also become an unlockable item that does the same for other characters)
Jacob n esau:
EITHER instead of 3 items, just copy all items of each other and paste it onto the other.
OR double all non-story special rooms on future floors. That means whenever a special room spawns, creature another one of it somewhere on the floor. Aka two tresure rooms, two shops, two curse rooms, two secret rooms and two ultra secret rooms but also two boss rooms.
Tainted mag:
Doubles the damage and range of the hug, and makes it inherit tear effects. Not tear changes, like mom's knife etc, but tear effects like holy light.
Tainted cain:
Instead of more pickups spawning from items, make it so "rare" pickups has a higher chance of replacing normal pickups. I.e bonehearts, black hearts and eternal hearts replace red hearts, golden/mega bombs replace regular bombs, charged/golden keys replace regular keys, and lucky pennies/dimes replace pennies more often. Like a 5% chance of replacing any pickup of the given type.
(bdLPs idea of two bags of crafting is also super cool)
tainted judas:
(this one is hard)
possibly make it so every curse room guaranties to have an item in it.
or extends the decent time, so you are in the "shadow realm" for longer, while also making it so you can shoot tears in the form, thereby increasing its usability.
Tainted blue baby:
His poops should drop pickups, and give him two ways to pocket poops.
Tainted eve:
buff so the hearts dont disappear.
Tainted samson:
(another boring one like judas)
keep the current br effect and make it so whenever he kills an enemy, they do a proper blood explosion, dealing damage to other enemies and fearing them for a few seconds.
(hes supposed to be the rage/murder character, so I feel like that would be cool and thematically accurate)
Tainted azazel:
Make the debuff of his sneeze last indefinitely and also contagious, so whenever an enemy with the debuff touches another enemy, they also get it.
Tainted keeper:
first off, fools gold has a higher chance of appearing.
Secondly, picking it up adds a new type of special room in future floors called a "midas' room". It's an all gold room that can have different things in it. Obviously a bunch of coins, but also with a chance to have a coin beggar, midas' touch, keeper themed items, or a donation machine.
Tainted appollyon:
this isnt even a br effect. Just please add new flies. That'd be awesome.
Tainted bethany:
EITHER bdLPs idea of having wisps spawned by lemegeton have a 100% chance to be pulled from the current room instead of the base 25% chance.
OR whenever a wisp gets destroyed, there's a 50% chance to drop the item on a pedestal. (that would definitely be fun)

For Tainted Keeper I believe that it would be better for nickels and dimes to act like soul hearts
They wouldnt have a higher drop rate, but nickels could be like normal soul hearts and dimes could be like black hearts or golden hearts, where when they break they have different effects
some fixes i’d do:
BB: his would be “better poops”, basically, what you said, using “the poop” has a chance to spawn better poops like the golden ones. that or “fly infested” which would give him guppy sans flight
tainted azazel: i mean, thematically, it’s gotta be that he gets flight and a full brimstone, possibly with improved damage
keeper: i think something to do with wooden nickel would work. either a) make it spawn a penny 100% of the time or b) make it spawn a nickel instead of a penny

Laz’s birthright just got SIGNIFICANTLY better with his recent rework now lol
One thing I could see working on Eve would be giving her half a black heart when she enters the babylon state. Not only does it make her keeping red health and razor super powerful as you can basically convert red hearts into half black hearts if played correctly, but also protects you if you happen to JUST have red health. It makes you approach the character more differently than "go devil deal, lose red health" while still giving her a noticeable buff
As a side note, it allows you to make a joke about whore of babylon and protection in the birthright description
Since I already have this comment up, I could also add to samson a little, you could have something like "all-consuming rage" where he gets permanent stat ups from damage. Basically just small bonuses like candy heart or keeper's sack that can easily rack up along the entire game
Aaand once more for azazel (yes I am doing this while watching the vid simultaneously) birthright: still a child: one half of azazel resembles isaacs face, and he is able to shoot tears while charging brimstone, similar to revelation
Bethany: virtuous blood
If bethany's health is full, she can collect red hearts for soul charges like T.Beth does, like with other characters she taps into what the tainted character does which isn't a perfect fit per se lore-wise but I think the description "virtuous blood" justifies it very well. On top of that it rewards good play with her as a pure red heart character and buffs her main gimmick
Jacob & Esau: sharing is caring
By holding the drop button, they additionally drop their first collected item but can only be done once per room to prevent mass item dropping in the same room. That can help you mix and match the items between the two to actually make them balanced and maybe even help you sort out some garbage items you picked up.
My tainted Isaac idea: birthright makes you drop all of your items and it cycles between another item.
T blue baby: his poops get his item effects
T laz: he gains a familiar which is a small version of the flip he is not playing as.
T Apollyon: his flies attack like the flies that steal your charge, they don’t have to be shot to activate (it gives him his chaotic playing style)
T Eden: getting hit applies d10 and d12 and gives you a larger window for stats to drastically change
T keeper: shops appear on every stage, money gives you sfading stat ups
Keeper: makes his wooden nickel always drop a penny and has a chance to drop two coins
T Samson: gives his berserk better stats and a 3 second kills,
If Judas isn't top tier we riot
imo i do think azazals birthright is good, i dont tend to focus on how its related but it improves its hitbox so i think its a great idea
I think that a few of the characters could've benefited from active slot Birthrights. Like imagine if instead of 4 extra permanent slots, Tainted Isaac's birthright was a one-time-use active that gulped the current 8 items he has on him. Holding it like a Forget-me-now or Diplopia if you get it before you're 100% set, or using it right when you get it to free up the slot maybe.
Give regular Isaac unlimited held item room so he's no longer burdened by constantly rolling items into active items. Isaac is the game break character, and I think having basically an infinite schoolbag would be fittingly nuts. That or maybe just the ability to pick up any and all dice actives he sees (D20, D6, Dinfin, D100, ect.). Or just give him a special Q slot active Fixed D6 that lets you Un-reroll items.
Tainted Lost, give him immunity to self-harm deaths. Play sacrifice rooms, kill yourself on mimics, enter curse rooms, plan-C whatever is giving you trouble, or just use some Suicide King plays. He's the dead character, your benefits shouldn't be anything that makes you more survivable, they should make you able to dig even deeper for more wins.
I'd also make Sampson's birthright make all enemies elite but make them all drop their elite loot even in hard mode. Man is the take a big hit and give it out just as hard character, his birthright should be like taking a hit to hit even harder. Gimmie all those consumables, and give me all the big fights!
Beth I'd say if you don't give isaac the bottomless backpack, give her the ability to save all actives she picks up in her book of virtues. Since she's not as break-heavy as Isaac is, I'd say balance it out by making all actives share their charges like the Dinfinity, but give a wisp for every active you've taken. Wisp Queen. Maybe if it needs coralled in even more, I could see soul heart uses being the only thing that can be used to do so.
Azazel I think should get a damage aura similar to incubus. He already has to sit ontop of the enemies sometimes, so I could see it being useful.
