You are damn right brother!!! But the RR-HOF has lost it's luster. There are some unbelievable band/singers who hae forsaken yet, they enshrined Dolly Parton??? I was 17 when I first heard this band and they blew me away? Man oh man music was fabulous back them: Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Zepplin, CSN&Y and many others. It was a magic time!!

This band had the whole auditorium on their feet. All the girls were dancing in a state of transcendental bliss. I had seen nothing like it as they fill up the aisles . Dancing with a young Mark as like one big bass pounding it out. He was not much older than me. A young teenager on a adventure into the infinite sound of God's personal reflections.
My favorite 2LPS from Grand Funk is the Red album and Closer to Home I think it's called, it has I'm your captain on it , I have both and listen to them like a fine aged wine every now and then,along with many other older classic rock groups, but also have become a Blues fan over the last almost ten years now, I absolutely love my music,and it also helps to have a killer stero system with high powered amps and tower speakers , a few beers helps as well turning the volume up a few notches after each one, until my neighbors complain but sometimes they like it,lol

Mark, Don and Mel. Put on the headphones crank it up, put on Inside Looking Out and be launched into space Rockin and Rollin. After all these years still a jam. The guitar the bass the drums, the harmonica and Farners singing is it.
Mark Farner was hot. The whole band was a-f#ckn-mazin !! American Rock at its finest…and weirdly missing in so many accounts on the history of rock-n-roll.
Everyone has their own top 10 songs from this band and they're all great but for my pick as number one on my top 10 list would have to be CREEPIN'. Absolutely the best blues riffs and the lyrics are spot on for the world we are living in today. CREEPIN'............ Check it out.........

Grand Funk & Steppenwolf underrated? I’m guessing you weren’t born in or before the 60’s because they were both MONSTER bands back when I was young. Still are in my book, though I can understand your confusion, they rarely were top 40’s but they NEVER went unnoticed.
There is SO MUCH FREAKING MUSIC OUT THERE TODAY, if you did not grow up during all this musical explosion, it can be easy to miss something. The so called classic rock station here NEVER plays GF, and barely Steppenwolf. There is bias in Radio Land and Cyberspace.

Grand Funk started the AB and C of the rock movement in the World. It is a shame that their contribution to Rock Music is not being recognised by the World Music Family and Institutions.
Infortunaly didnt pass the test of Rock generations, but GFR is ths only band tha put fear in Bands like Sabbath, EL&P, Purple, Yes and others from England!

They were "some kind of wonderful". But look at there faces, it tells who were not happy & who was. Bands Always have there problems, I know I was in enough of them & now I'm so happy to be on my own producing my own music. It was the resonance period of Rock. Their’s was the first concert I had ever attended. I was going from the eighth , to the ninth grade or freshman in high school. It was a pivotal moment. Thus began a decade of drugs, rock and roll, and eventually, yes - sex. Or was it 3 decades? I don’t remember!

Grand Funk started the AB and C of the rock movement in the World. It is a shame that their contribution to Rock Music is not being recognised by the World Music Family and Institutions.
Infortunaly didnt pass the test of Rock generations, but GFR is ths only band tha put fear in Bands like Sabbath, EL&P, Purple, Yes and others from England!
Blame that on Terry Knight. What a piece of work. And to think that they sold out Shea Stadium in 1971 faster than the Beatles did in 1965.

very subjective list totally disagree on this being the top 10 just because they are the radio hits does not make them the best songs

Bands Always have there problems, I know I was in enough of them & now I'm so happy to be on my own producing my own music. It was the resonance period of Rock. Everything has evolved from this music, even rap, hip hop, Etc

Зачем в список лучших автор включил три кавера на чужие песни? Они тоже отлично сделаны, даже лучше оригиналов, но...у Фанков масса своих, можно смело сказать, шедевров: "People, Let's Stop The War", "Loneliness", " Shinin' On", "I Come Tumblin", да практически весь репертуар до 1975 года, потом что-то произошло, и для меня лично Фанк закончился!
