But the fact is that i was a kid, i used to be listen my cousins record collection and my first GFR album that i heard was Were An American Banda, that cover with they in the Coffins...this was around 1980, 1981...
You are damn right brother!!! But the RR-HOF has lost it's luster. There are some unbelievable band/singers who hae forsaken yet, they enshrined Dolly Parton??? I was 17 when I first heard this band and they blew me away? Man oh man music was fabulous back them: Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Zepplin, CSN&Y and many others. It was a magic time!!

Wore knee length black leather flat heeled boots & was up dancing, stomping the whole show my feet hurt so bad the next day, haha totally worth it what a party. This band had the whole auditorium on their feet. All the girls were dancing in a state of transcendental bliss. I had seen nothing like it as they fill up the aisles . Dancing with a young Mark as like one big bass pounding it out. He was not much older than me. A young teenager on a adventure into the infinite sound of God's personal reflections.

My favorite 2LPS from Grand Funk is the Red album and Closer to Home I think it's called, it has I'm your captain on it , I have both and listen to them like a fine aged wine every now and then,along with many other older classic rock groups, but also have become a Blues fan over the last almost ten years now, I absolutely love my music,and it also helps to have a killer stero system with high powered amps and tower speakers , a few beers helps as well turning the volume up a few notches after each one, until my neighbors complain but sometimes they like it,lol
This is my favorite underground music together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath that I always listen when I was young. They still stay in my heart until now..
memories are made of this music in the pages of my mind.. all i can say is i wish i could turn back time . when i am liststeing to this music it is like travelling back in .time.,and still remember my childhood friend cassidy., cassidy where ever you are i wish you all the best of luck . . i love that.

A couple of Steppenwolf songs are actually at the foundation of my political/societal outlook. ''Monster'' is more relevant now than when it was released. GF's ''Survival'' was also a great influence.

It was a full content volume version of Grand Funk Railroad. In a good way, the ability to select and put together while leaving miscellaneous is a word. Full of content and satisfaction.🐪
They were "some kind of wonderful". But look at there faces, it tells who were not happy & who was. Bands Always have there problems, I know I was in enough of them & now I'm so happy to be on my own producing my own music. It was the resonance period of Rock. Everyone has their own top 10 songs from this band and they're all great but for my pick as number one on my top 10 list would have to be CREEPIN'. Absolutely the best blues riffs and the lyrics are spot on for the world we are living in today. CREEPIN'............ Check it out.........

I agree with closer to home being one of the best songs the whole album that it's on is I'm your captain great song too on that same and the album inside looking out is great and that song is the most rocking song, i think!
Grand Funk started the AB and C of the rock movement in the World. It is a shame that their contribution to Rock Music is not being recognised by the World Music Family and Institutions.
Infortunaly didnt pass the test of Rock generations, but GFR is ths only band tha put fear in Bands like Sabbath, EL&P, Purple, Yes and others from England!

G.F.R. & STEPPENWOLF are the top two most underrated bands in the history of rock & roll. Just my opinion, Mountain is in the same category.

A couple of Steppenwolf songs are actually at the foundation of my political/societal outlook. ''Monster'' is more relevant now than when it was released. GF's ''Survival'' was also a great influence.

Their’s was the first concert I had ever attended. I was going from the eighth , to the ninth grade or freshman in high school. It was a pivotal moment. Thus began a decade of drugs, rock and roll, and eventually, yes - sex. Or was it 3 decades? I don’t remember!

They were "some kind of wonderful". But look at there faces, it tells who were not happy & who was. Bands Always have there problems, I know I was in enough of them & now I'm so happy to be on my own producing my own music. It was the resonance period of Rock. I agree with closer to home being one of the best songs the whole album that it's on is I'm your captain great song too on that same and the album inside looking out is great and that song is the most rocking song, i think!

Grand Funk started the AB and C of the rock movement in the World. It is a shame that their contribution to Rock Music is not being recognised by the World Music Family and Institutions.
Infortunaly didnt pass the test of Rock generations, but GFR is ths only band tha put fear in Bands like Sabbath, EL&P, Purple, Yes and others from England!
Blame that on Terry Knight. What a piece of work. And to think that they sold out Shea Stadium in 1971 faster than the Beatles did in 1965.
@@56Veggiemost influenced band in my life. Being a drummer I can say we covered most of the best songs and never got negative response from the crowd. They loved it and so did we. The most underrated band in history.
