After a shocking event, Lila unlocks a paranormal power within and discovers her ability to create life (and end it). IF I CAN’T HAVE LOVE, I WANT POWER was written by Halsey and directed by Colin Tilley. The film was produced by Halsey, Jamee Ranta and Anthony Li. I'm not going to pretend I've always been some huge Halsey fan, just appreciated some of her music, but this album is ridiculously dope & such a bold breath of fresh air creatively instead of doing something "safe" by typical top 10 pop chart standards, & to build such a unique film around it makes it that much more impressive. I only wish more major stars took these kinds of risks, it just kicks ass to see an artist actually make art.
I’ve noticed a lot of people say that about her now but she has always been this way
@@dennyjones6921 2 of her biggest hit songs were:
1) a corny pop/rap ballad with then-boyfriend G-Eazy
2) an intentionally cheesy for radio play pop duet with the Chainsmokers, a performance which she took over from Camila Cabello (which I only mention to say that Halsey & Camila are not typically competing artists in sound/style, as Camila would *never* make a song produced by NIN let alone an entire album, but Halsey still ventured into that teen pop lane for that megahit, so a lot of people would only know her from that)
Yes, songs like "Gasoline" or "Castle" were darker than typical Billboard Hot 100 pop, but those were not songs that most average people might recognize compared to her huge mainstream hits & those songs also weren't pushed as the entire vibe of an album.
@@CM-jc7gk You’re leaving out like Eastside and without me that are her two of her three biggest hits plus her album and Manic which was a massively successful album but still very creative and not main stream sounding
If she doesn’t get a least 2 nominations for a grammy this year, I’M FIGHTING ALL THE PEOPLE THAT IS IN CHARGE OF THE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS.
