    I'm so sorry for Jimmy's loss. The original chimps all came from not so happy backgrounds so it's hard to know how abused they were until they came to Monkey World. You gave him a wonderful life and for that we thank you.

    I've always wondered if they let the other primates in a group know when a member has passed or if they are just left thinking they disappeared? Aside from one male chimp that died in the outside enclosure after a heart attack and was being examined by the group when staff found him. Do they show them the body? Is there a primate graveyard? RIP Jimmy. ❤ Thank you so much to Alison and the rest of Monkey World for everything you do and all the heartbreaking battles you fight to give these beautiful animals a better life. A life they have always deserved. I'm so happy to finally see some legislative changes to the pet trade. Jim and John would be so proud. ❤❤

      Silly. What do you mean 'let the other primates know'? You can't exactly speak to them or anything! And whats the point of 'showing them the body'? Remember THEY ARE ANIMALS AND NOT HUMANS! Once an individual 'disappears' for a long time the rest just carry on with their day...not too bothered. Some may feel the loss for sometime but eventually they're back to playing, eating, grooming and attacking.

      @@DG-zv4bl some animals do grieve and I remember they did put a passed individual back into the enclosure so the group can grieve together. You don't have to call somebody silly...

    • @missmee7210
      @missmee7210 5 месяцев назад

      @DG-zv4bl The relationships between the staff and primates are vital to their success. If the chimps see them medicate and take an unconscious chimp away that never returns, that could damage the trust they have. In the wild, chimps will spend days mourning the loss of a group member. Some of them will even stop eating. It's not silly at all. They are sentient and aware. If adding a member to the group can cause a disruption, then so can removing one. You have no idea what you're talking about and obviously haven't been paying attention to the lives we watch here.

      Yes I remember that ape…he didn’t live long he was in the bachelor group. Was huge cant remember his name now sadly. But also rodney (I think that’s his name) too?? They tore him up and saw him dying on the platform (even though he died days later from a heart attack ) That scarred Hananas group. They definitely grieved rodney as well because they knew how he went.

    As always, the loss of one of the primates, hits hard. I can't imagine your grief after day-to-day contact but anyone who watches monkey world and recognizes the exemplary life, love and care they are given, also understand the decision to avoid suffering. Peace

    I'm happy 🥰to see the care staff separate Peanut & Punyo (sp?) for breakfast. Peanut is a beautiful lady but she is not big on sharing food and it always made me feel bad for Punyo☹️. He is absolutely stunning when he swings through their outdoor enclosure 🙌♥️🙌!
    I am very sorry for the loss of Jimmy! I know this happened a while before we are seeing this episode but I hope all of the Staff, Carers, and the Troop are doing well!?! Losing a family member, whether they are a furry member, or biological, is NEVER easy. My prayers and hugs are with you all!🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏♥️🤗🤗🤗

    The hardest part of loving animals who become dear to us. I cry more whenever I've had to give my animal companions peace. I sob. But you all have the right attitude - let them go in peace and eventually, enjoy the memories.
    How does the troop react when one of them has passed on?

    I dont think you should have put wet peeled fruit in the sand and the pond looks gross to be washing with. 🤮
    Some of those poor capuchin are skin and bones.

    • @leslie6938

      I hated that they did that too. No point going into a lot of detail about it since they don't read these comments and this was filmed a few years ago. I just hope the staff learned from this and NEVER do that again. I really feel sorry for the capuchins. Food is one of the few pleasures of life they have, and putting it in sand seems abusive to me since they did not know for a fact that the monkeys KNEW how to wash it and they did not provide a fresh source of water for it. I'm usually quite complimentary of the MW staff for their efforts to provide enrichment but not this. Awful.
